Chapter 14: Just another uh-oh.
After that meeting with Roxxane, I started to look for Xander.
After a little walking around, I found him with his group of friends.
The CREST4, as many students call it.
The Cool Royalty Emerald Shining Tall 4.
It sounds stupid, but that's been around since freshman years and we just called them that up to now.
"Xander." I called out.
"Oh, hey Dayana." Xander greeted back.
"Well, aren't you a cutie." Kitian, the flirtatious one among their group, told me.
I giggled, "I know, right?"
Austin, the childish firecracker, laughed at my remark, "She got you good."
"Shut up." Kitian told him.
"Aw, little Kitty, if you that's what you call flirting, then I call this a conversation." I told him.
"How immature." Jacob, the considered cold one, mused.
I smirked, "Immature; a word used by boring people to describe fun people."
"Okay, Dayana, what brings you here?" Xander finally asked.
I gave him the look. Not a look, but the look.
"Uhm, did I do something wrong?" He asked.
"You might do something wrong and you know the cost if it slips out." I said, taking out a candy cane and putting it in my mouth.
He smiled sweetly, "We both know I wouldn't do that."
"Goo-"
I was cut off when the boys suddenly started circling around us, as if we were prey and they were the predators.
"What's going on between you two?" Kitian questioned.
"You're not keeping a secret from us, are you Xander?" Austin said, a mischievous grin on his face.
Huh, he's looks so similar to Auswell, one of our members of CBG.
"I had a baby brother... Mom and dad disowned him, so I ran away, finding this place." He told me, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Aw." I said, rubbing his back.
"As a trainor, you don't really act strict and stuff." He told me.
"This is unusual of me to say, but I think you two need to explain what is going on." Jacob added.
I smirked, "First, nothing's going on between us, second, everyone has secrets, third, we don't need to, considering it doesn't have a connection with any of you."
Austin looked surprise, but he hid it with a smile, "I like that answer."
"Wow, not expecting you to say that. I would've expected you to stutter." Kitian said, amused.
Jacob just gave me a cold glare. With that, I stuck my tongue out like a child.
"Woah, commander, she just did that." Austin said.
"Ha, you wouldn't let her off that easily, right?" Kitian added.
Jacob looked at me, then, surprising the three idiots, he ruffled my hair.
"Argh, stop!" I told him.
He just laughed and pinched my cheeks.
"Is this real?" Kitian asked in disbelief.
"Commander- he just-" Austin couldn't finish his sentence, given he was still sinking it in.
"Is this a sign of the downfall of humanity?" Xander asked, looking up the ceiling.
Aren't they overreacting?
"What are you all talking about?" Jacob and I asked in unison.
"We rarely see Jacob smile, and you made him laugh?!" Austin exclaimed.
"Who are you?!" Kitian exclaimed.
"I'm Dayana Autumn." I replied.
Xander laughed at my reply and ruffled my hair too.
-
When I ruffled Dayana's hair, I got a glance at Jacob's face and saw that dark expression.
"Aish. Xander, let me go or I'll throw two times more knives at you later." She threatened me.
"Knives?" My three friends said.
Dayana giggled, "Yup, knives."
"What do you mean?" Jacob asked her.
I laughed nervously, "What she means is that Xana-"
"Xana?" Dayana asked, tilting her head to the side.
"-my sister, has been taking a few cooking lessons from Dayana, and you know, cooking involves knives." I explained, smiling nervously.
Kitian and Austin believed it, although Jacob looks skeptical.
The school bell rang, marking the start of classes.
"Boop be doo boop, bye!" Dayana said and rushed off.
Jacob was about to go to her direction when Austin laughed.
"You don't need to follow her there, you know?" Austin told him.
"We have the same class in first period, idiot." Jacob said coldly and left.
-
"Autumn." Someone called behind me.
I ignored it and opened the door to class.
"Dayana, are you ignoring me?" That same voice asked.
"No duh, Sherlock." I replied.
"It's me, Jacob." He finally said.
"Heya Ice." I said.
"Ice?" He asked from behind.
"Well, you're cold, so why not name you Ice?" I replied.
"If I'm ice, can you be my flare?" He asked.
I giggled, "Flare? Cute."
"That's what you say? Cute?" Jacob asked in disbelief.
"Well, yes." I answer, "What did you expect?"
"Ms. Autumn and Mr. Edwards, what are you doing? Standing up and chattering?" Mrs. Edna demanded.
"You answered your own question." I told her and sat down on my seat.
Jacob sat next to me, ignoring Mrs. Edna's question- which she really did answer herself.
In the end, Mrs. Edna ended up giving us a three-page essay as a homework.
I groaned as I packed my things.
"What's wrong?" Jacob asked.
"I have a lot of procrastinating to do when I get home." I replied.
Jacob bit his lip, "How 'bout I help you with your homework?"
I giggled, "Nah, I'm fine on my own."
"Oh, really now?" He asked.
I nodded, opening my locker. Huh, didn't even realize I was there already.
"Dayana!" A voice yelled.
Before I could face that high-pitched voice, I was greeted with a splash of water on my face.
"Serves you right, bitch." Justine said, crossing her arms.
I laughed hysterically, "Oh, this is too good."
"Are you okay?" Jacob asked.
"Yup, I don't know but Justine made another mistake here." I said.
Justine pouted, "Mistake? Oh, did I hurt your royal highness's ego?"
"Stop pouting. You already look like a duck." I told her, "And my ego is unharmed."
"What do you mean I look like a-" she was cut off when I giggled.
"Dayana. Let's go, don't make a scene." Jacob said, grabbing my wrists.
"Oh, what a slut." Justine mused.
I smiled, "I'm not a clone of you, so shut up."
"How would you know that I flirt?" Justine asked.
"Well, you recently kissed Nick, and isn't your boyfriend Victor?" I asked her.
"You have no evidence." She retorted, "I would never like someone as Nick."
Nick suddenly appeared and grabbed her hand, "I thought you said that you loved me?"
"I do!" Justine told him.
"You may now kiss the bride." I announced.
"Dayana, stop." Jacob pleaded, grabbing my wrist once again.
I snatched my hand, "No Jakie, I wanna see what happens."
".... break up with Victor." Justine finished.
"Oh, dang. Could you repeat that?" I asked.
"Shut up!" Justine yelled.
"The bell rang a few minutes ago, students, why are you still here?" The hall monitor suddenly asked.
"WHAT!" We all yelled and rushed away.
I arrived at class and the teacher immediately gave me a detention slip.
I groaned inwardly, "Great."
