Episode # 9
Episode # 9
Swara felt a numbness spread through her body, her mind overwhelmed by the chaos around her. She couldn't process the betrayal, the pain—everything seemed like a nightmare she couldn't escape from.
Sanskar, seeing her anguish, forced himself to remain calm, though rage simmered inside him. "Okay, okay, just put the knife down," Sanskar said softly, stepping back, his eyes never leaving Swara's trembling form. As he retreated, Aarini suddenly shoved him hard, sending him tumbling onto the sofa.
Arjun laughed mockingly. "How foolish you are, Sanskar. You really thought you could outsmart us with your little revenge plan?" His voice dripped with cruelty as he strolled around the room, relishing the moment. "Ram chachu was always on my side, you know. I've been handling his business for years. Seven years ago, after your little accident, I knew you'd discovered the truth. I considered killing you again, but then you vanished on your own. I thought the property would be mine. But no, you had to come back—with her."
Sanskar's fists clenched as he held back his fury, while Swara squeezed her eyes shut in disgust.
Aarini smirked, her eyes glinting with malice. "We've known everything for years, Sanskar. We pretended ignorance, all the while planning your downfall." She turned her gaze to Swara, her expression darkening. "And now, it's time for your wife to pay for humiliating me that night."
Swara's eyes widened in shock, while Sanskar's heart pounded in fear.
"Aarini, no!" Sanskar shouted, desperation lacing his voice, but Aarini ignored him. She strode over to Swara and struck her hard across the face.
Swara gasped in pain, her voice trembling as she cried out, "Sanskar!"
"Aarini, stop!" Sanskar roared, trying to lunge toward them, but Arjun blocked him with a brutal punch to his jaw. Sanskar stumbled back, helpless as he watched Aarini slap Swara again and again, her hands yanking Swara's hair viciously.
"You thought you could humiliate me?" Aarini hissed, her voice venomous. Tears streamed down Swara's face as she sobbed in agony.
Sanskar struggled to get up, only to be grabbed by Arjun, who delivered a hard punch to his stomach. "You beat me that day, didn't you?" Arjun sneered, delivering another punch that sent Sanskar crashing to the floor.
Groaning in pain, Sanskar tried to regain his footing, but Arjun simply kicked him aside.
"Now that you know the truth, it's time for a little rest," Aarini taunted, her smile wicked as she walked over to Sanskar. She grabbed a bottle of wine from the table and poured two glasses, one for herself and one for Arjun. "But first, let's have a drink, shall we?"
Arjun grinned, opening Swara's restraints with a swift motion. Swara screamed as the ropes fell away, her legs throbbing in pain from the tight binds. Aarini and Arjun each approached their captives, glasses in hand, attempting to force them to drink.
But Swara and Sanskar, despite their injuries, pushed the glasses away defiantly.
Aarini's smirk turned sinister. "Fine," she said coldly. "If you won't drink, let's make this more interesting." She grabbed Sanskar by the arm, dragging him toward the back room, while Arjun seized Swara, pulling her in the opposite direction.
Swara fought back with all her strength, her eyes desperately meeting Sanskar's. Tears welled up in both their eyes as they were separated, but just before the door slammed shut, Swara caught one last glimpse of Sanskar.
Inside the room, Arjun threw Swara onto the bed, his grin predatory. He leaned in, his breath hot against her skin, but before he could touch her, his head began to spin. His eyes went wide, and he swayed on his feet.
Seizing the moment, Swara shoved him with all her might, sending him crashing to the floor. She dashed toward the door, flinging it open, only to collide with someone.
Her heart skipped a beat as she looked up, her eyes locking onto the familiar figure standing before her. "Sanskar!" she cried, relief flooding her voice as she practically jumped into his arms.
"Shh, Swara. I'm here," Sanskar whispered, holding her close, his hands gently running over her hair. "Just give me five minutes."
When Sanskar had fallen earlier, he had noticed the wine glasses sitting on the table. Without drawing attention, he discreetly slipped a vial of drugs into the wine before pushing the glasses away. Aarini and Arjun had unknowingly consumed the drugged drinks, and now the effects were taking hold.
Sanskar gently placed Swara in a different room, ensuring she was safe and away from further harm. He then returned to the room where Aarini was, dragging Arjun along with him. Without any hesitation, Sanskar shoved Arjun onto the bed, right on top of Aarini. Both of them, still under the influence of the drugs, barely registered what was happening. In their dazed state, they mistook each other for Swara and Sanskar, spending the night together without realizing the truth of their actions.
Flashback ends.
Present:-
Now, as Sanskar finished recounting the events, Aarini and Arjun stared at him with wide eyes, their faces pale with shock. They couldn't believe what they were hearing.
Sanskar chuckled at their expressions. "What's the matter? Surprised?" he teased, his voice dripping with amusement.
Arjun, his voice trembling with disbelief, managed to ask, "How... How did you know about all of this?"
Sanskar's eyes darkened with satisfaction. "Remember a few days ago when the three of you were scheming in Ram's room?" He glanced between them, his smile growing wider. "The conversation Swara overheard that day was your plan—the plan that revealed everything. From that moment, we knew that you were all in on the deception."
Aarini and Arjun exchanged horrified glances, the reality of their failed plot sinking in. Their perfect plan had been shattered, and they had played right into Sanskar's hands.
Sanskar folded his arms, looking at them with a calm yet victorious smile. "You underestimated us."
(The trio had been plotting to kidnap Swara, planning to use her as leverage to demand the entire property from Vikram and Sanskar. Once they had control, Aarini and Arjun intended to do whatever they pleased with Swara and Sanskar. This was the same plan Swara had insisted on following, wanting them to act as if everything was going according to the trio's scheme. Swara had proposed that they allow themselves to be kidnapped to trap the trio.
However, Sanskar was strongly against risking Swara's life. He refused to go along with the plan and instead tightened security around her, determined to keep her safe. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, luck wasn't on their side. Swara was kidnapped, throwing their plan into chaos.)
Sanskar: "You all did great work, but there's one thing you couldn't have known."
Aarini: "Which thing?"
Sanskar: "Swara regained her memory."
Arjun Aarini, shocked: "What?! How?"
Sanskar: "A few days ago. She already told us what you did to her, Aarini." His tone turned dangerous.
Aarini gulped in fear: "But you can't prove that I was the one who pushed her... or did anything to her."
Sanskar, smirking: "What makes you think I can't? Last night, when I came in, I planted a hidden camera without either of you noticing." Arjun Aarini's eyes widened in shock.
Sanskar called someone, and within moments, his guards arrived, pointing guns at Aarini and Arjun.
Sanskar, in a commanding tone: "Take them to the basement and tie them up. We'll deal with them later."
Arjun protested: "You can't do this to me, Sanskar! I'm your brother!"
Hearing this, Sanskar stood up and delivered five or six punches to him.
Sanskar: "Brother? Really? Where was this 'brother' when you tried to kill me, not once, but multiple times?" He landed another punch. "And where was this 'brother' when you killed my best friend, Shaurya?"
Aarini trembled in fear, witnessing Sanskar's dangerous side.
The security head intervened: "Sir, leave him to us. We'll take care of them."
Sanskar shoved Arjun toward the guards: "Take them away. We'll come down later."
Raglak pleaded to be released, but Sanskar ignored them as the guards took them to the basement, tying up their mouths, hands, and legs.
Sanskar then walked over to Swara, gently lifting her into his arms, and carried her to their room. He laid her down on the bed and kissed her forehead softly. He moved toward the window, pulling out his phone and initiating a video call with both sets of parents, the Goenkas and the Maheshwari.
Sanskar, with a faint smile: "Hi moms and dads."
Suman: "How is Swara, beta?"
Sanskar glanced at Swara, then back at the screen: "She's sleeping, Mom."
Vikram: "And what about Aarini and Arjun?"
Sanskar looked at Suman before answering Vikram: "They're in the basement. Mama?"
Suman: "I'm fine, beta. Don't worry about me. I know what Laksh did was wrong, and he deserves punishment. You don't need to worry about me."
Sanskar: "Are you sure?"
Suman: "Beta, he took a son away from one mother," she said, looking at Sakshi, who had tears in her eyes. "So, he isn't worthy of forgiveness. I'm okay. I'm just a mother, that's why it's hard, but please don't stress."
Vikram: "Yes, son. He may be our child, but what he did was a crime, and he must face the consequences."
Sanskar, feeling reassured: "I love you all." He ended the call and turned his attention back to Swara.
Flashback.
When Sanskar placed Arjun in Aarini's room, he returned to his own, only to find it empty. Panic set in as he began searching for Swara. Then, he heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. Confused, he walked towards the slightly open door. What he saw inside shocked him—Swara stood under the shower, rubbing her cheeks and arms furiously.
Sanskar shouted: "Swara!" He rushed toward her, quickly turning off the shower and grabbing her shoulders.
Swara, crying and not fully aware of her surroundings: "Sanky, please... let me clean myself. Arjun kissed me... touched me..." She tried to break free from his grip, but Sanskar didn't let her go. Instead, he scooped her up in his arms.
Swara struggled in his arms, trying desperately to free herself.
Sanskar firmly: "Stop struggling, Swara." She looked up at him with tear-filled eyes.
He gently put her down and went to the cupboard, pulling out her nightclothes. Since this was his farmhouse, he always kept her things stocked in every property he owned.
Sanskar: "Go and change."
Swara didn't move, still lost in her turmoil.
Sanskar, more sternly: "Swara, if you don't go in the next minute, I will change your clothes myself." Swara shot him a glare before snatching the clothes from his hands and storming off.
Sanskar smiled faintly at her defiant behavior. He also changed his clothes and waited for her. Five minutes later, she came out, avoiding eye contact with him, and crawled into bed, covering herself completely with the blanket.
Suppressing a laugh, Sanskar walked over and gently pulled the blanket down from her head.
Sanskar: "Darling, it's medicine time." He touched her forehead and noticed she had a fever. "You also have a fever, so come on."
Swara, rudely: "I don't want anything."
Sanskar teased: "I just said I would change your clothes, so what's the problem? After all, I am your husband."
Swara: "Whatever... now leave me alone."
Sanskar made her sit up on the bed, ignoring her protests and scolding and carefully bandaged her wrists and legs. Swara sat there with an angry pout, but Sanskar continued, knowing she needed the care. He made her eat something and then gave her an injection. He knew that despite her tough exterior, she was deeply shaken by the way Arjun and Aarini had treated her. With the help of the injection, Swara finally fell asleep peacefully in his embrace.
(Sanskar was familiar with medicines and injections, thanks to Sakshi's teachings.)
The next day, when Swara woke up, she felt weak. Sanskar gently placed her on his lap and handed her an apple to eat. Later, when Ragini and Arjun arrived, Sanskar gave Swara another injection, as she wasn't in a condition to speak or mete out punishment.
Flashback ends...
Sanskar's trance broke when he heard Swara cough softly. He quickly moved towards her and helped her sit up. She was awake now, so he handed her a glass of water to drink.
Swara, resting her head on his shoulder, asked softly: "Arjun and Aarini?"
Sanskar, gently holding her hand: "They're in the basement."
Swara sighed: "Hmm..."
Sanskar asked: "Do you want to deal with them now?"
Swara shook her head slightly: "Not now, please..."
Sanskar smiled softly: "Alright, we'll do it tomorrow. We'll make sure they pay for their deeds."
Swara simply hugged him, resting her head on his chest. Sanskar leaned back against the headboard and pulled her close, holding her protectively in his arms.
They lay there peacefully in each other's embrace, knowing that the time to punish their culprits had finally come. However, the desire for retribution wasn't for themselves alone—it was for everything that had been taken from them.
Sanskar's Monologue:
I don't want to punish Arjun for what he did to me. Maybe I could forgive him if it were just about me. But I will never forget that day when Shauriya died because of me. He took my death— even before dying, he saved me. He owes my life... for that, Arjun has to pay. His second biggest mistake? He tried to hurt my life. Yes, my life— my wife, my soulmate, my everything. Swara means a lot to me.
Today, when Ram Prasad Maheshwari told me about Swara's kidnapping, I felt as if I was standing at the same point where I lost my brother, and now I'm going to lose my love. Today, I realized how much I love her... more than my life.
The first time I saw her at the traffic signals, her kindness attracted me. Back then, I didn't feel anything specific for her, but if I think of that day now, I can say that...
That day, I fell for her. Her fear and pain gave me pain at that moment. Aarini, Arjun, you did very wrong by raising your hand against the one who means everything to me. I can't tolerate even a single scratch on her, but you both crossed your limits.
Tomorrow, you both will see the worst of me. Swara will surely punish you both, but that will not be the end. And I swear on Swara, you both will regret ever coming to this earth.
His thoughts were interrupted when Swara tightened her grip on him. She was half asleep, her body instinctively seeking his warmth and protection. Sanskar looked down at her, and his expression softened. Leaning in close, he whispered, "I love you, Swara. I love you more than my life."
He kissed her forehead lightly, then settled back with his arms wrapped tightly around her, closing his eyes as if to shield her from the world.
But Swara had been awake. Her heart swelled with emotion, and her eyes welled with tears as she listened to his whispered confession. She lifted her head slightly, watching his serene face in the dim light, feeling overwhelmed by the love she had for him.
She nestled back into his chest, her gaze drifting toward the window as she smiled softly, her heart full.
Swara's monologue:
What a life I have, right? First, my mother was ditched, and then I got ditched too. Then I lost my memory. Maa and Dida always looked at me with hopeful eyes, waiting for the day when I'd laugh fully again. Then Sanskar came into my life, and everything changed. He brought back the old Swara that was lost due to memory loss. He came into our lives like a ray of sunlight. He shared his past with me, and then our marriage happened. So many things followed, but with each passing day, our bond grew stronger.
He's an angry young man for the outer world, especially in the world of business. But for his family, he would go to any lengths, even kill someone if needed. But for me? He turns into that angry young man again— (pouts)— why? Because my dear hubby cares for me so much. He can't tolerate any negligence when it comes to me. I know he won't punish Arjun and Aarini just for himself. He wants to punish them for me... for Shauriya.
I never met Shauriya, but I want to thank him for saving my Sanskar's life. I wish he were still with us... but he gave us Sanskar. My Sanskar... yes, mine... my everything. When Arjun asked me to choose between my dignity and Sanskar, I didn't even hesitate. I chose Sanskar without a second thought because he is my everything— my respect, my character, my breath, my life, my everything. If I have to lose my dignity for him, I won't think twice. Yes, Sanskar, I love you... I do. Tomorrow, Arjun and Aarini will get their punishment for hurting the love of my life.
Swara looked up at Sanskar...
Swara moved closer to him and whispered in his ear: "I love you too, Sanskar," and gave him a soft peck on his ear. Then she looked at him, who was already staring back with a shocked expression.
Sanskar: "Whaaattt? What did you say?"
Swara giggled with teary eyes, moving close to his ear again: "I said..." (then she shouts) "I LOVE YOU TOOOO!"
Sanskar broke the hug and put his hand on his ear: "Swara!"
Swara took this as a chance to run from the bed, giggling and running around the room.
Sanskar, rubbing his ear: "Swara! My ear! Youuu..."
He finally grabbed her by the waist and twirled her around, the room filled with Swara's laughter and Sanskar's smiling face. Swara hugged him tightly.
Swara: "I love you, my dear HCB!"
Sanskar twirled her around: "I love you too, my SMD!" 😘
The screen freezes on their happy, full-of-life faces.
A new day will surely come for them tomorrow, when the culprits will be punished for their deeds and Swasan will embark on their new journey of love. 😉
To be continued...
