        Swara starred at Sanskar cabin and felt like she stepped into a new world. Each aspect of the room reminded her about Sanskar the CEO of Karma. The man she never really met before now .

         He waited for her to take a look then only asked her to sit beside him in the lounge . She knew it was time to explain the reason for visit but she didn't want to break the calmness that settled her after seeing him by lashing at him ,So she kept silent .

         " What happened Swara ?" he asked and she knew she had to answer .

        " Nothing, our family got crazy . It was just too much to take in and then mom gave me the divorce papers and I was hurt,  that you didn't even bother to do it in person , I know i was wrong to get angry at you .

         But when mom said you must have signed the papers to let me free to marry laksh , I was furious . I can understand everyone thinking like that but not you " she answered back .

        " What else am I supposed to think Swara " his voice barely a whisper echoed in the room and made the suppressed emotions she held in burst forth . 

          "  How can you Sanskar. I told you time and time again. Everything I did was to get my parents together and I have no interest in Laksh " she lashed back furious that the one person she hoped would understand her  failed to believe her .

             " You didn't call Swara , I told you to call me if Laksh bothered you and your didn't. I know Laksh went to change your mind everyday. I thought maybe he did " Sanskar voice had bit of hesitation that she realized he must have took her avoidance to mean she accepted laksh .

        " I just didn't want to bother you , I am sorry Sanskar . " She answered back which earned a rare smile on his face that she smiled back momentarily forgetting her worries .

             " So what brings you here , you said something about our family acting crazy " he asked and listened as she vented out her frustrations .   Then she remembered her reason for venturing out .

         " Is that why you gave the divorce papers. ?" She asked and his silence made her worry till he spoke up again .

         " I promised I will never bind you with me because of this marriage . And I want to live up to my word Swara " he answered back and Swara was taken back with his reasons as she had no reasons to hold back on to their marriage either except she felt like he may be lost to her .

             " I know but do we have to rush it like this " she stammered holding on to the hope that she could delay it bit longer .

           " The court process take time Swara and it better if you sign it soon " he spoke up as if his heart wasn't breaking . 

            Sanskar waited for her to voice out a protest , to say she didn't want divorce but he knew he was overreaching as she took the papers and signed right in front of him .

              He was the fool to believe maybe she would be willing to work it out , and he knew it was time to hasten the process for his departure . He can't wait to get out this place . Distance is what he needed from her if his broken heart had any chance of recovery .

                Swara handed the paper back to him and willed herself to believe the marriage wasn't the bond that binded them together , it was friendship and as along as she lived he would remain her friend or so she hoped yet her heart felt heavy as if she was finally giving up on him . 

                 A knock disturbed the moment as someone else stepped in ,Swara was still numb that she ignored what went on ,until he called out to her .

      " Swara ,this is Keerthi . The one who keeps this place from falling apart " he called out to her and swara become  aware of the fact that he didn't introduce her to his colleague which meant she knew everything about her while she remained clueless.  

      " Nice to meet you Swara ,the girl who made Sanskar a human " Keerthi greeted her and earned a glare from Sanskar which indicated the information wasnt meant for her ears .

            " Nice to meet you ,I wish I could say Sanskar told me all about you but he didn't and I am beginning to wonder how much I don't know about him" she replied trying to keep the hurt behind from her voice .

                 "Will you stay for the retirement party of Mr Gupta .He was our Accountant who had to retire after his heart attack and doctor advised him rest . " Keerthi extended the invite and Swara looked up to Sanskar and only accepted it after she saw his nod . 

              After Keerthi stepped out , silence threatened them till she blurted out the first thing that came to her mind .

             " Do you already hired his replacement Sanskar " she asked him .

           " Not yet ,Keerthi and I shared the workload hoping he would recover enough to resume the duty but he gave his resignation two days ago " he answered back and Swara grinned at him ,only then he realized Swara interest in numbers .

          Since swara dream drifted towards music ,he had forgotten about the fact she had a degree in accounting and the smile in her eyes spelled trouble for him . 

           " Can I apply for the Job ,only if you have no objection " she asked little hesitantly and he wanted to decline but the hopeful not in her voice was hard to ignore .

       " Selection process is Keerthi domain and you can apply Swara but .." he was still speaking when she interrupted in between .

        " I won't get the job , you would be looking for someone with more experience " she spoke up feeling dejected that she over reached her place .

        " No Swara , we don't select our employees based on experience anyone can apply . I believe you can get the job, I was just worried if your parents would object " he answered back hating the disappointment on her face .

      " Maa and Baba won't notice even I am gone ,actually I am being harsh . After what ragini did they are bit distracted " she answered back and was relived when Keerthi stepped in again to invite them to the party .

             Swara was surprised when Sanskar greeted every employees by name , she was also taken back by the atmosphere.  They looked like a bunch of friends hanging out together . 

       And she was pretty excited that her life would soon have them . She knew the idea of job was mainly so she wouldn't have to be cooped up in her room and if working under sanskar enabled her never to lose in touch with him that was an added bonus. 

         She knew it won't be easy. And not fair for Sanskar but he remained the only anchor to her life and losing him completely would shatter her life apart. She signed the papers and the marriage will end soon enough and she wanted to salvage the friendship ,she was lost in her thoughts she missed the last few aspect of the conversation .

            But looking at Sanskar. She realized the topic wasn't to his liking , she listened what caused his distress only to be stunned when the questions were about his wife and now she understood his distress.

          " Come on Boss. When will you introduce your wife to us " his HR managed asked and when Sanskar eyes locked with her for a moment she realized how affected he was with their questions and the familiar guilt stabbed at her . Why did she end up hurting him .

             It was at the moment she decided not to apply for the job. She was being selfish trying to hold on to him when letting him free was the right answer all along .

              "We are getting divorced and I would like it if you respected my privacy " with that announcement made he walked away ,Swara feet moved to follow him but it was Keerthi who halted her and walked after him .

            Of course it made sense.  She couldn't comfort him not when she was the cause of it , she listened to the whispers of he employees calling her all sort of names for breaking his heart and she deserved that but the worst pain came when one statement reached her ears .

        " It no wonder boss is focusing on moving the HQ to Mumbai , he must have want to get away from her ." the statement casually made was the moment she realized no matter how hard she tried to ingrain herself in his life ,she was losing him .
