One week later.

          Sujatha Maheshwari had been disappointed when her son wasn't able to get divorced like she wanted ,and it turned into fear when she stumbled upon her son hugging Swara.

           She feared they got back together and only breathed a sigh of relief when her son left swara without a word that day ,but it gave a little hope for her family who insisted a reunion is quite possible.

             She was disappointed when her son moved away from home and yet if it meant distance from Swara ,she was glad about it . Her family refused to understand her reasons for wishing  for a suitable bride for her son

           Yet it was the same family who disowned her son when he fell in love with Kavita , Sujatha had  hailed from a poor family and in the eyes of her maternal family she was pitied and ignored until she married into the Maheshwari family. 

               And soon Sujatha learned the power of social status and wealth, she basked in it and delighted when those who treated like a servant during her visits  than a cousin changed their tune and were proud to claim her as their relation .

           Her father was the youngest son who failed in all his business endeavors and had to depend on the generosity of his brothers . The fact which made her mother wilt in despair right before her eyes and being the only child of her parents ,Sujatha couldn't be much of a help either .

             Until Ram Prasad Maheshwari took interest in her during college , Sujatha had never expected him to be wealthy or hail from a influential family like the Maheshwari ,all she hoped for was a decent guy to marry .

                   Her husband had took a stand against his family so he could marry her and lost his voice and respect in his family. While sujatha had been aware of the fact that she wasn't the bride his family would have chosen for their son .

         She hoped to gain their approval and it came in the form of her son ,Sanskar . While Sujatha adored Laksh ,she took immense happiness in her son outshining Laksh .

               Her husband may have lost his voice for her ,but it was her son who made them both proud until he fell for Kavita . Sujatha didn't want  her son to suffer like her husband. 

            While her family may support Swara for now ,Sujatha was aware of the fact her son and swara will always be looked down . She knew it might hurt her son for now but if it could spare him a life time of being ignored then Sujatha would strive to achieve it .

                 She had lost her son once because of her actions and she has no intention to do so now . She only hoped the distance and time would bring her son back to her .

                   As Sujatha footsteps came to a halt ,she realized she was finally here.  The place that haunts her nightmare ,she looked towards the on going traffic and felt time slipping away as she remembered the sound that still echoed in her brain ,the scream that still resonates in her soul which deems her guilts for killing an innocent .

              Today was the day she died , and today was the day Sujatha Ram Prasad Maheshwari irrevocably crossed the line in a bid to ensure his son life ,as she looked towards the ongoing traffic a pair of angry eyes starred at her and she froze as she realized it was Kavita friend .

                 When she first saw her in Sanskar office ,she worried that somehow her son would learn about her transgressions but she calmed herself realizing Kavitha friend doesn't knew the entire truth but now starring at the hatred in her eyes ,she realized maybe Sujatha crimes were not hidden as she expected .

              And so she turned around and walked away before her legs give away , the fear that she lived with for over a year after Kavita death came crushing back . And she knew if her son found out than she will lose him forever.

      Keerthi stood in the place where she lost her best friend ,the sole witness of the said accident that caused her friends death.  She always used to blame herself for not anticipating that her friends would walk into the ongoing traffic  but as she looked up to find the said reason for her friend death .

            The hatred that rushed through her was all consuming , she saw Sanskar mother walking away the moment her eyes landed on her and she wanted her to suffer for taking away two innocent lives but yet it was because they both loved Sanskar she held herself back once again .

              As she walked back to work ,she began to cool down a little and by the time she reached the work place she had managed to forget the anger that held her captive.

             She wasn't in the least bit prepared to see Swara in her cabin , every time she saw swara the guilt crushed her . She knew Sanskar had asked her not to come for the trial but yet she went standing the shadows in case he would need her . 

                 And she witnessed swara hugging him ,for a moment her heart elated with happiness for them but when Sanskar walked away it crushed her hope with it . 

              Keerthi often contemplated if it was the right thing for her to interfere but she had learned from her connections in Mumbai that Sanskar had taken to drinking a lot after moving ,and she blamed Swara for it . 

                Keerthi had already lost one person who drank himself to death ,she didn't wish it for Sanskar and so she asked Swara to stop contracting him which did result in him giving up drinking often but yet keerthi felt guilty every time swara smiled at her. 

                   Keerthi tried to smile back but her smile faltered a little at the sadness in swara eyes , it felt like swara was unhappy as well .

           " So what brings you to my cabin?" Keerthi asked with a cheerful voice .

         " I am always thankful that you took a chance with me Keerthi ,but I can't do it anymore . " Swara words made keerthi freeze as swara handed over her resignation letter .

            " Why .."the words slipped out, but keerthi was aware that it must be due to the musical academy Sanskar gave to her .

              " I am moving away , going to visit my dida .She is living with her sister and I think I would like to spend some time with her " Swara answered back leaving keerthi wonder if swara was also running away from her memories .

        " What about Sargam?" keerthi asked and saw the smile vanish from Swara face at the mention .

          " We can't get divorced for now ,so Sanskar can't force me to take it either " swara answered back and there was hurt behind her words .

               With that she left leaving Keerthi wrenched with despair , she looked towards her best friends picture and wished she didn't feel this lonely now ,her thoughts were interrupted with a phone call that left her at crossroads once again .

             Swara packed her bags ,yet her heart was at unease . She always faced her problems and never choose to run away but by moving from her home ,she was doing the exact same things. 

                 She was aware of the disappointment she caused her parents by the said announcement , she was aware that her parents need her support concerning her sister, who had taken to fit of temper ever since she got divorced from Laksh .

           The fact swara case was dismissed while hers got accepted made her furious , and swara felt like she could barely stand her sister hatred .

          Yet the reason she was moving away was because of him , her heart had hoped he would thaw and talk to her but he left without a word ,in its wake she was left with a confused heart .

               It felt like it got broke that day , and she began to wonder why he mattered to her the most . She always assumed it to be his friendship but after that day she began to question her heart which felt like it awakened from a deep slumber .

                 The contentment she found in his embrace ,made her realize she was affected by his presence more than a friend . It should have made her scared ,this uncertain territory of feelings but instead it made her happy until he walked away .

                 When Keerthi told her the next day ,he left town she realized she had to leave as well.  Her home ,her work and this whole town kept reminding her of him and so she made up her mind to go and visit Dida .

                She felt she was right in her decision until the call , in spite of Swara efforts Keerthi always treated her with respect but never as a friend . So swara was surprised when she called only for it to turn in despair ,as she learnt the reason behind it .

                Swara only took few minutes before making up her mind , it took a bit of time to convince her parents but they knew she won't stop until she saw him.  

               Swara waited for Keerthi in the airport ,in her nervousness she wouldn't have been able to keep a rational head and was thankful that Keerthi took care of travel arrangements. He was in a accident and yet she had to find it from Keerthi . It bothered her but what mattered most was to see him ,that she wasnt going to envy Keerthi closeness with him .

              Swara mind remained numb till she was standing outside the hospital room , she almost hesitated at the door but made herself find courage to walk inside .

                   Swara eyes assessed his injuries first , a broken sling on his right leg indicated a fracture apart from that he looked fine ,until his eyes landed on her standing next to Keerthi .

             " Do you need to tell her , you crossed a line Keerthi " his admonishment of keerthi stuck a nerve as she prepared to defend his friend . And yet it hurt that he was speaking of her as a third person. 

          " Well she would have been a widow if your weren't lucky, so I had to say something to her " Keerthi words made swara realize the truth in it , that she was still his wife and yet a mere stranger to him .

           " Now that you have dragged her to show that she can't be free of me yet ,will you both leave " his words cut her heart and she gasped at the pain his words left in her mind but before she could lash at him for his cruel words , Keerthi words halted her 

             " This isn't the first time I crossed the line ,I told Swara that you want her to stop trying to get in touch with  you . " Keerthi words was barely a whisper but still managed to bring a silence in the room that was eerie .

                 " You did what ?" Sanskar words made swara look into him and saw the pain in his face and it hurt her when she realized it was because he believed she gave up on him .

            " Forgive me ,but I had no intention of losing you to drinks either but apparently if you are set on the path how can I interfere ,  at least I don't want to feel guilty that you died thinking swara gave up on you "  Keerthi words echoed in the room and swara had no response when she walked away from the room leaving her alone with him .
