Sujatha Ram Prasad Maheshwari was busy glaring at her husband that she couldn't concentrate on her food. As a mother she couldn't fill her stomach with food while worried that her son was filling his with alcohol.

Meanwhile her husband was praising his son for landing a project that proved to be impossible in the beginning.

"If only Lakshya had the same drive, I heard from his secretary, he was already flirting with one of the interns as soon as he entered the magazine. I thought making him CEO would stop this childishness" her brother in law spoke up making Sujatha look back at her sister in law with concern.

While Sujatha continued to worry about Sanskar destroying him , her sister in law worried that Laksh someday might break someone else heart with his behavior.

Sujatha had been one of the very few who knew about her sister in law first love and how he abandoned her when her family couldn't give the dowry to satisfy him. It was all well and good that it led her to her brother in law in the end. But Sujatha knew she always worried her son might recklessly break someone heart like her ex.

"DurgaPrasadji maybe we should ask Laksh and Sanskar to come home early every day. They always miss dinner at home and who knows what they gets up to in the night" Annapurnaji spoke up and Sujatha found herself nodding her head in earnest.

Sujatha believed getting her son home early might prevent his drinking habit and she knew he wouldn't drink in the house out of respect for all of them.

"They are not kids Annapurnaji, we can't control how they spend their time" her brother in law replied back making Sujatha sulk a little.

"Maybe we should get them married " Sujatha spoke up without thinking but her husband was already shaking his head in answer, her husband was of mind to let Sanskar go as he does because of his heart break and didn't want to come across as pushing parents.

And her brother in law thinks his son is too immature to marry him. As it will only lead to the wife to suffer. So imagine the shock on all of their faces when her son and her nephew came home with two girls that night.

It took her a moment to realize one of the girl was Swara, the one Laksh still thinks of marrying and Sujatha realized the other one must be her sister Ragini.

At times like this even Sujatha waited for her sister in law to speak up first, while her brother in law may be the decision maker of the family often but they all knew her sister in law was better at it.

"You are on time for dinner, join us first and then we can talk what brought this lovely visit" her sister in law spoke up first and it set the tone as Sujatha watched her son sit beside Swara, while Laksh sat beside Ragini.

When she heard about the misunderstanding during their date ,she thought it happens but looking at the ease between the two pairs, Sujatha wondered maybe the misunderstanding was fated to be lead them to their right partners.

She spend the next hour looking at her son and her nephew. Laksh was making Ragini smile, while Swara had managed to make her Sanskar smile and in the book of a mother that was enough to make Sujatha love Swara.

It has been so long since Sujatha saw her son smiling and no matter how much she tried to be rational and not jump to conclusion, she already wanted Swara to be her bahu.

Swara was a nervous wreak, she didn't know why she quickly agreed to Sanskar's plan. Because she forgot about one thing, the last time she met the elders of the Maheshwari family, her family may not have been rich but respectful among the society.

Now her father was a run away and they were kicked out of their own house. She didn't see any silver lining in the present scenario that would make the elders of the family like Swara and Ragini.

Swara can handle rejection well, she was able to accept her father's abandonment and her Dadi hatred but she liked the elders of Maheshwari family. She liked how they didn't discriminate her illegitimacy and liked how they accepted her an year ago without any reluctance.

"My mom is planning our wedding just about now " Sanskar's voice got her out of her thoughts as she glanced at his mother and was greeted by the smiling face of Sanskar's mom.

"They want Ragini for you, not me" Swara answered back, after hearing about the misunderstanding she realized that her sweet sister might suit this version of Sanskar, the caring one.

"But you are my fiancée, don't tell me you are going to break off our engagement with in 24 hours and break my heart" Sanskar teased back with a smile. It was fun being fake engaged to him and this teasing version of Sanskar , suited her as well

Swara had been hoping Sanskar would explain about their presence to his family after dinner. But those hopes shattered when one authorative voice broke the comfortable silence in the dinning room.

" Sanskar , Laksh meet me in my study after you finished eating. You too Ram"

With that statement one of them left the room. Making Swara nervous again. Because it looked like she might have to face the remaining elders of the family alone.

"Don't keep him waiting, else he will get stressed" Laksh's mom spoke up next and it was as if those words were a command as both Sanskar and Laksh followed it without a word of protest.

Ragini had a million things to ask her sister, starting with why she agreed with Sanskar in the first place. They talked something about Sahil, and fiancée as such and yet she held back her questions waiting till they were alone.

But from the moment they met outside their sealed house, they hardly had any time alone. Laksh and Sanskar walked them inside their house and then there was the invite to dine together and now those two left Swara and Ragini alone with their mothers.

"Now that we are alone tell me everything" Sanskar's mom was the first to break the silence in the dining room.

" Sujatha, they are our guests and it isn't polite to question them. Swara, you know we have met once and this must be your sister Ragini. Welcome to our home, you both need not say anything .

I will repeat what I said to you when we first met, My son's are good people and if they brought you home then I know there must be a valid reason and that is enough for me. I will show you to our guest room for the night" Laksh's mom spoke up and got up from her chair.

Ragini and Swara didn't know what else to say but follow them. Even then her sister was not beside her as Sanskar's mom was talking with her, while Ragini was walking beside Laksh's mom.

"You know that I was Janki's friend right?" Laksh's mom asked her and Ragini could only nod her head in answer as tears threatened to fall at the loss of her mother.

Unlike Swara, Ragini didn't even know her mother and her Grandfather was the only one who used to talk about her.

" You look just like your mother, I always regretted losing touch with her. But when I got married into this family, I was too busy adapting to my new life that I let the distant grew between me and my friends and by the time I adjusted to this new life and was ready to reach out, your mom passed away. And so when I thought I will have a chance to make Janki's daughter, my daughter in law I jumped into it." Laksh's mom kept talking and it was pleasant that Ragini had been disappointed when they reached their destination.

"You must be tired, take rest now and we can talk tomorrow. " Laksh's mom spoke up once she showed Swara and Ragini the guest room. They left after the sisters thanked them for the hospitality and it was finally just Ragini and Swara alone.

"What did Sanskar's mom talk with you?" Ragini asked first curious about their conversation.

"Sanskar told me that his mother was already planning our wedding and I thought it was a joke but apparently not. She asked tons of questions about me, my job and so on" her sister answered back and Ragini knew she must be tired after the hectic day and all she wants was to lie in the bed and sleep but she can't avoid the conversation any longer.

"So how did you meet Sanskar and what happened with Sahil earlier, I was too upset that I hardly understood what you were speaking earlier" Ragini asked her sister and was left in shock after learning about her day.

"And how did you meet Laksh, do you know he has been claiming that he is going to marry me for a whole year. " her sister asked her next and Ragini felt a tinge of sadness at the knowledge that Laksh was really interested in her sister.

" He is my Boss, and he kept asking me about your number. Maybe instead of lying about Sanskar, you could give Laksh a real chance after all he was supposed to be your date last year " Ragini spoke up and was proud of herself being able to not let her heart get in the way of her sister's happiness.

"Ragini, Ragini , the romantic. We just got kicked out of our house and you are dreaming of my Prince charming. Laksh doesn't like me, he wants to save me. There is a difference, while I used Sanskar as a shield today to escape Sahil, it was temporary in nature. That is the only reason I said the lie.

Also Laksh is more comfortable around you then me, he barely spoke to me today but kept talking with you throughout the car ride and the dinner. While I am still not okay with you dating him, I don't think he is that bad either" her sister answered back, Ragini didn't like that she felt relieved to learn her sister didn't have the same interest in Laksh.

"I can't date him , He is my boss now. We don't even have a home now and I can't lose my job as well " Ragini answered back and that reminder made both the sister weary after a long day.

"I am going to call Dada and check up on him, there is no use telling our Grandparents anything now except make them worry. I have a week off from work since the annual function just ended and I will try to find a way to fix this and Sanskar told me that he will help, so don't worry too much Ragini. We will get through this together" her sister spoke up making Ragini feel better about their circumstances.

Four single people and two married couple slept in the Maheshwari house that night each filled with various trains of thoughts.

Swara was planning a trip to visit her Grandparents tomorrow after the phone call that made her worry about them a little bit more , if Sahil and his goons made their way to their home town in search of Swara, she didn't want her Grandparents to face them alone without her.

But she didn't want to leave Ragini alone either and even though Laksh is the boss, Swara didn't think Ragini will be able to take leave when it been hardly two months into the internship.

Ragini was thinking about her Grandparents too but most of her thoughts were focussed on her mother. She loved her Dada and Dida for raising her up with all the love but the void of not having a mother was never more evident to her than today when she met someone her mother used to know. Which made her wonder if her life would have been different if her mother survived.

Sanskar was thinking about all the plans that need to be undertaken tomorrow, from meeting with a lawyer to finding everything there is to know about Sahil and hoping he can help the Gadodia sisters.

Laksh was thinking about Swara and Sansksar being engaged even if it was a lie, when Laksh and Sanskar entered his dad's cabin with Ram uncle. Laksh was sure his father would be giving them a lecture about bringing the sisters home without permission.

But he only talked about a business project that Laksh almost fell half asleep when he finished speaking.

"Now you both can leave" his father spoke up after an hour.

" You are not going to ask who we brought home today or why " Laksh asked taken back that his father didn't even mention it once.

"Your mother tends to say that I just need to stay out of her way if there was any issue in the house and she will sort it out. I am sure she would have settled everything now, and I can go back to my room and sleep. " his father answered back and left Laksh alone with Sanskar.

And that was when Laksh learned about Swara and Sanskar being fake engaged if that was a word and he didn't like it. Sanskar said it was just a lie to keep Sahil away from Swara and while Laksh understood that it just made it more complicated in his mind.

He hoped he can drive Ragini to work tomorrow and ask her what Swara thinks about it. He knew Ragini would help him sort it out and he was so glad that she was working in the magazine.

While the young people thought about tomorrow and its problems the elders in the family were willing to look little farther than that, once Sujatha told her husband that Swara will be her bahu because she made her son smile, Ram was fully on board with the marriage as well.

And DurgaPrasad learned from his wife that it maybe his house and he may like to order everyone around but he was supposed to stay out of the way of the younger ones and let them make their decisions.

"Don't scare those girls away, I don't know what going on DurgaPrasadji but I feel like having them in our house will help our sons and that all I care about now" his wife answered back to his queries about their new house guests
