" Here you go, your coffee, " he spoke up, as his hands placed the steaming hot cup beside her and Swara let her hands curl around the cup to feel its warmth.

She had been angry, desperate and upset that the sight of him made her reckless enough to introduce him as her boyfriend, but she didn't expect him to play along to the point of calling her as his fiancée .

Sahil left them, after his declaration but there was glint of fury in his eyes as he looked at her but she wasn't concerned about the fury now but more about the questions swirling in the eyes of the man before her.

" Why were you there, in the dance studio I meant? " she asked him instead, it was better to be the one with questions than faced with the task of answering him .

" My friend's daughter was in the play and he had too go out of town on business and asked me to cheer for his daughter in his place and record it as well, he was divorced recently and his wife has no interest in the child that he fears his absence will be felt more by the kid, and he would have been here if he could have but explaining it to a five year old will never be easy, " he spoke up, surprising her with the soft side to his nature.

" That is so sweet of you, " she said out loud and blushed at his chuckle , she wasn't used to blushing it wasn't in her nature, the last time they met she was fairly rude to him because he was drunk and happened to be Laksh's cousin.

After that night, she didn't have the same anger towards Laksh who had been quick to come to her defense as well that night, but yet her mind often thought about the man before her and wondered about him ever since .

" So is Laksh still having a girlfriend every day?" She asked next, anything to keep him from asking her questions instead.

" Do you know, my bade maa prayers were answered when he sent you to date with us because her son turned into a saint that night after professing his wish to marry you asap, " he answered back and she was glad that the hot coffee wasn't in her mouth because her mouth gaped open in surprise .

"Just kidding, he didn't turn into a saint, but every time he breaks someone heart, he uses your name as the excuses state he is already a promised man to someone else who left him rather cruelly without a word, he is nursing a broken heart you see " he spoke up continuing to shock her by his words as she tried to say anything in return until she managed to find the words few moments later

" He was Ragini's date, " she spoke up because while she wanted to prevent her sister from Laksh grasp, she had no idea why he wanted to marry her or claim as such to his family .

" Alas, that was something you didn't know as well. He was your date Swara, not your sister's and my cousin had taken into his heart that you are meant for him as well " Sanskar answered back as he briefly explained the misunderstanding happened on their blind date leaving her stunned in silence .

Ragini was known for her shyness and yet she felt comfortable enough to share everything with him, it must have been her easy smile that made her agree to go for a cup of coffee after her office hours end.

" I am your boss at work and I hope to be your friend when we leave the office gates " he spoke up when they met earlier and sure enough he waited for her as she stepped outside the gates and whirled her into an quaint cafe to talk.

The espresso she had in her hand was cold by now but she can't stop telling him everything, it was just like this on their first date when he so causally made her speak without an effort and even now his eyes was filled with warmth as she told him everything that happened in the year since they met each other.

And she didn't like the hint of rage in his eyes at the mention of Sahil, but she played it down not wanting him to get into trouble for their sake and she was blissfully happy in their moment until he shattered everything by a single question leaving her confused .

" Is your sister still single?, Sahil doesn't count " he asked her and her eyes fluttered wide open at the suddenness of his question. She may not know much but there had been spark of interest as he asked the question which crushed her heart .

" Yes, " she answered truthfully because if Laksh truly cared about her sister then it was good, didn't she wish for a way to help her sister from Sahil's threat just today and even if it came at the cost of her infatuation, it would be worth it to ensure her sister was safe .

And it was too be expected as well, no one will notice her when they could see her sister beside her, even that night Laksh had been busy sparing with his sister than her, busy asking her question about Swara than her and it hadn't changed even now .

" Do you know my family had arranged the blind date for me with your sister and there had been a misunderstanding " he spoke up as if sharing it with her would delight her as well .

" What ?" She cant help but exclaim at the suddenness of the request .

" Yeah, they wanted to pair you up with my bhai, Sanskar . You two would suit well, Maa knew your mother and believed that you will be perfect for Sanskar bhai and there had been a misunderstanding the night which got us switched , " he spoke up, till unaware how she flinched at him causally disregarding her existence with few words .

" Why, did they think I will suit your bhai? " she dared to ask because she needed to know, how the world thought of her and most likely what the man before her thought about her.

"Because you are sweet and kind , my brother got a bit of temper and he had gotten his heart broken once, so they need some one patient as well and do you imagine you sister being any of that " he spoke up as if it was a good joke to his ears when Ragini eyes shut in pain to yet again boxed in a sweet and kind .

They weren't searching for Sanskar wife, they were searching for someone who is too biddable that she will accept Sanskar anger and his drunkenness without a protest, she will agree to marry him even when his heart lied somewhere else just like her mother who bound herself to their father when he loved someone else.

And the man before her thought she would suit the role perfectly, and she wanted to threw the now cold coffee at him and walk away but they were all right because she was too kind to inflict that behavior on him even when her heart was breaking apart.

Sanskar loved the pure outrage on her face as he told her about Laksh and his new mission of marrying her, he had hoped with time his cousin would forget about her, but it wasn't happening as far as he could notice .

While he always knew Swara won't be charmed by his cousin white Knight behavior it was still a relief to see the pure disbelief etched in her face as he told her about his cousin .

" Have you checked him into an mental asylum yet, sorry I didn't mean it like that, it just..." She trailed of when she believed that while she jested he may take offense to it.

" He isn't crazy, just stupid . Don't worry you are safe from him now after all we are engaged " he spoke up, making her blush again, he loved seeing the colour on her cheeks as much as he loved seeing her .

Maybe he had gone stupid as well because this is the second time they meet each other and his attraction to her was gone way out limits.

" As your fiancée, I need to know if that man threat hold any weight age, he threatened to kick your grand parents out of their house ?" he asked her, he knew she didn't want to confide in him but hoped she would share nevertheless and was relieved when she answered his question truth fully.

" Do you know how much your father owes him? " he asked as he was filled with rage at her father who ran to save himself leaving his daughter and parents under constant threat .

" No, I didn't ask because the number would be more than our means at the moment and I didn't want the number to haunt us as well , my father was reckless and yet we never predicted he would risk everyone by his actions " she spoke up , filled with anger as well .

" We will sort it out , I will discreetly enquire everything and let you know and we will formulate a solution " he assured her , and was fortunate she didn't decline his offer of help but yet her eyes glanced at him with wariness as she asked the question, he had no answer .

" Why would you help us ?" She asked and he didn't know, he could say it was just human kindness but somehow it wouldn't be true because helping her meant more to him than passing kindness .

" Because your are my Fiancée " he answered back trying to lighten the mood and she laughed making him relax as well, she had been too wound up until now that to see her relax was worth paying the debt her father racked up till now .

"As long as it doesn't end with a wedding, I am fine with being your fiancée " she answered back once the laughter turned into contemplative silence .

"See we are prefect for each other, unlike my cousin who may very well expect you to fall in love and marry him tomorrow once he saw you again " he answered back and she laughed again as they both wondered about his reaction .

It may have been fate or coincidence that brought both of them together, just as it did his cousin and her sister the same time in an different coffee shop. Back then those four didn't know how there life will he intertwined together because of their fated moments shared over a sip of coffee.

Ragini heart broken while Laksh's heart was filled with new found hope , Sanskar willingness to see beyond his pain and to help the person before him even at the cost of getting engaged to her in the eyes of the world and Swara Bose ,the girl who had been fiercely independent depending on someone else.
