Chapter 9: Jayant

"What is all your fault?" He looks to the side and sees Kavita standing there, he gulps while blinking at her.

"Uh. . ." He trials off, not being able to think of a response. "Of hurting Swara."

She narrows her eyebrows as she stares at him "Because of my friends she had to suffer and I feel like it's my fault for not stopping them." He adds a lie as he forms a frown.

She releases a small sigh, placing her hand on his shoulder "It's not your fault Sanskaar, you weren't sure of their intentions and if you didn't know then how can you blame yourself?"

"Hmm." He hums, shaking his head and Kavita curls a small smile as she looks at him. "Coffee?"

"Huh?"

"Do you wanna come for a coffee?" She asked, hiding her smile and he nods his head positively. "Sure."

"Have as much coffee as you want Sanskaar because soon you won't even be capable of drinking water!" Sheesh angrily utters while standing behind a pillar with Sahil.

"What's your plan?" Sahil enquires.

"Exposing Sanskaar but with a twist."

"What twist?"

Sheesh curves a smirk as his devilish brain lit up the idea for the twist.

**

Shekhar was sat inside his car, stressing as he closes the file.

"Urghh! Loosing that one deal costed me a heavy price." He sighed irritatedly, throwing the file on the seat besides him.

The driver abruptly stops the car and Shekhar swings forward and back. "What the hell!" He cussed, clenching his fist as he stares at the driver.

"Sir, the car in front of us. . ." The driver uttered and stopped talking while Shekhar glanced outside the windscreen, staring at the opposite car.

The two cars were facing each other and finally Shekhar glanced past the driver, seeing his enemy sat in the back.

"Move away." Shekhar orders, inhaling a fiery breath, wanting to kill him but controls his anger.

The driver starts driving past the car, in which Durga Prasad was sat.

Durga Prasad scoffs as he gently closes his file, knowing the lucky coin was in his hand, which can easily help him destroy his rival, Shekhar Gadodia.

"Let's go." Durga Prasad orders and his driver starts driving.

**

Swara was sat in the front seat, fiddling with her seatbelt.

"Why are you nervous?"

She swallows her spit, not facing him and neither responding.

While driving, he turns his face towards Swara and then back on the road.

"So Jayant, what made you come so soon?" Sameer, who was sat in the back clears his throat, asking Jayant a question.

"Uncle called and I. . ."

"Oh okay." Sameer interrupts, not letting Jayant complete "So if Dad told you to jump off the cliff then you'd do that too?"

Jayant stares at Sameer through the mirror while Swara felt a little easy, not knowing why she feels safe with Sameer in the back.

"Well. . ."

"How can I forget, everyone loves their life. But marriage is similar, instead of a cliff it's a fire you're jumping into."

Jayant fakes a scoff "Saale Saab, your sense of humour has woken up, may I know why?"

"Sense of humour? Come on Jayant, no one else is trying to laugh other than you. I speak practically not sarcastically."

Swara bites her inner cheek, controlling the small smile that wanted to shine on her lips.

Jayant senses a change in Sameer and gazes away from the mirror, looking at the road ahead.

"May I know what brought you with us?" Jayant questioned.

"You have to be kidding me Jayant. You're the one who offered me to come so I said yeah. . . Were you expecting me to say no?"

'Yes.' Jayant thought in his mind, getting annoyed with Sameer's behaviour towards him.

"Huh?"

"Hmm?"
"No, I was glad when you said yes." Jayant lied, curving a fake smile.

"That's good to hear."

**

Kavita and Sanskaar were sat at a coffee shop, taking a sip from their mug.

"What happened Sanskaar? You look tensed."

Sanskaar shakes his head negatively, curling a small fake smile. "Nothing happened."

"Are you sure?" Sanskaar nods and Kavita gets a little relaxed.

"So Sanskaar, tell me a bit about yourself."

"Uh, what's there to tell?"

"A lot, like anything."

"Umm, such as?"

"Your likes, dislikes, favourites and all of that."

"Umm, I like. . . Food and you." Kavita creases her forehead, trying to hide her smile as Sanskaar begins to flirt.

"Me? Why me?"

"Why not you? You're smart, elegant, beautiful, righteous, fiery, intelligent, homely and understanding." He compliments, buttering her up but she isn't slipping into his words easily.

"Hmm okay, next."

"Next? That's all you have to say?"

"Yeah cause I know that, tell me something new if you have anything else to say about me."

"That'll take time, once I start to know you properly then I'll make a never ending list."

Kavita chuckles and takes a sip from her coffee mug while Sanskaar holds his.

**

Swara, Sameer and Jayant were stood outside the car, staring at it.

"Sir, it'll take at least an hour to fix." The mechanic utters, displeasing Jayant.

"Try getting it done as soon as possible!"

"Take your time." Sameer interrupts, staring at the mechanic. "Until then we will chill at that coffee shop."

"Right." Jayant remarks, "let's go." He adds and the trio start heading towards it.

Sameer touches his pocket, pulling out his buzzing phone. "Dad."

He answered the call while walking with Swara and Jayant.

"Yeah?"

"Where are you?"

"Dad I'm busy, I'll call you later." Sameer uttered and instantly disconnected the call, knowing why the call came. His gazes move towards a disappointed Jayant, who opens the door for his lady love to enter.

Swara hesitated at first but made her way through the door and Jayant followed. Sameer's phone buzzes again and he sighs, making his way towards the washroom.

Swara takes a seat, not knowing in front of her was sat Sanskaar, who's back was facing her. He was waiting for Kavita who had gone to the washroom.

Jayant takes a seat and smiles while staring at Swara, Swara moves her gazes around the whole place, trying to find Sameer.

"May I know who your eyes are searching for other than me?"

"Sameer." Swara blurts out and then looks at Jayant.

"Has he accepted you as his sister?" Jayant asks, wanting to know the reason behind Sameer's changed behaviour.

"Till how long would he deny the truth?" She answered his question with a question, mustering up courage.

Jayant scoffs "And I hope you remember what I like and what I don't. . ." He trails off, bringing his hand towards hers.

"And I hope you remember this is a public place." She responds, moving her hand away.

"I think you've grown your wings again, that's a bad news right?"

"Back then I didn't have anyone with me but time changes Jayant, as you can see, I have Sameer with me now." She boldly replies and he glares at her.

"What would you like to order?" The waiter asks and grabs Swara's attention.

"1 cold coffee please." Swara orders and then looks at Jayant. "1 cappuccino and what would Sameer like to have?"

"He doesn't drink coffee." Swara replies and the waiter walks away with a nod while Jayant looks at Swara.

Sanskaar slowly turns his head around and is surprised to see Swara and Jayant.

"Who is he?" He asked himself, wondering who Swara was sat with.

*

"Come on Dad, it's my choice where I wanna stay and what I wanna do."

"Try to understand Sameer, you can't stay there! Give Swara and Jayant privacy."

"Last time we did and guess what happened, he tried to molest her."

"Just shut up Sameer! How do you know the allegations she made on him are true?"

"Dad, I believe her and that's all needed for me to see his cheap intentions."

"Just think practically Sameer, if he really had to molest her then why is he marrying her? Wouldn't he use her and throw her away?"

"Dad, that's the reason that blinded us last time but it isn't going to stop me this time, I won't leave Swara alone with that guy. Bye!" Sameer huffs and disconnects the call, he turns around and sees Kavita standing in front of him.

"So your eyes finally see the truth?" She sarcastically taunted, folding her arms across her chest. "That's none of your business so stay out of it!" Sameer answered back and tries to walk past but Kavita stops him.

"I don't know if you're acting or you're really concerned about Swara but if this is an act then just shake it off Sameer, she had enough of your selfishness."

"Maybe you misheard or I didn't make it clear. . . Stay out of it because it's nothing to do with you and please Kavita, it's better if you don't talk about selfishness cause you ace in that category."

"I? I ace being selfish?"

Sameer walked away, not being in the mood to answer Kavita and Kavita huffs, stomping her foot in anger.

*

Swara was sat on her own, waiting as Jayant had gone to attend a call.

"Ma'am, your coffee." The waiter says and puts it down.

"Thank you." She utters and looks down at it, seeing a note on the plate.

'I'm sorry, I know the word would sound less but I'll do anything to earn your forgiveness, give me a chance.' Swara creases her forehead as she read it and gazes around, her eyes finally spot Sanskaar who was standing near the counter.

Anger overtook her calm mood and she clenched on the note, showing him while he was staring at her, she then throws it away without looking at where it'll go, both Swara and Sanskaar were looking at each other and the note stops in front of Sameer, who bends down to pick it up.

Swara lowers her gazes angrily and starts taking a sip from her coffee while Sameer opens the scrunched note.
