Chapter 8: Hate

Swara raised her hand, swaying her hand across, slapping him on the face. He shockingly blinks, feeling a pang of sting on his cheek and soon felt his cheek warming up.

"I don't need your sorry." She utters, crossing her arms across her chest angrily. "You caused enough damage Mr Sanskaar Maheshwari. . . Now leave me alone!" She exclaims, staring at him with disgust.

"Swara, I. . ."

"I don't care, all I know is that seeing your face gives me pain. So get lost!"

"I can explain. I. . ." Before he could complete, she slaps him across the face again.

"Really? You can really explain why you did such a cheap act? Haan?" She questions in disbelief, feeling more disgusted. Seeing his face makes her wanna throw right up on him. "You did all of this to get Kavita. You got her now, right? Now just get your ugly face out of my sight before I kill you! I swear Sanskaar. I hate you from deep down my heart. . ." She adds, gazing at him with seriousness "I hate you Sanskaar Maheshwari. I really do and I don't think I owe you anything. Not even my time."

As she stormed away, his heart felt hollow while her words in which hate was clearly glimpsing, echoed in his ears. Now he feels like he messed everything up, he ruined his friendship and earned Swara's hate.

"I should be happy right. I finally have Kavita on my side. . . I should be smiling. Why can't I smile?" He asks himself, trying his best to smile but the inner him was failing to keep a smile on his face.

Swara was heading towards he class until a message buzzed on her phone screen. She slowed her pace and pulled her phone out of her pocket to check the message, without opening it, she read it and her eyes widened. Another message slid in, piling on top of the previous one.

'Hi Jaan. . . How are you? I'm right outside college and I'm hoping we could go for lunch...?' Swara gulped as her heart started skipping a beat.

"J. . . Jayant." She stutters and her hands start shivering. Before her phone could fall out of her hand, Sahil and Sheesh grab her attention.

"What happened? Why are you behaving like you saw a ghost?" Sheesh wonders and Swara blinks at him, trying to think of a response.

"What will she be scared of? She's a ghost herself." Sahil scoffs and then realises what he said. Swara moved her gazes towards him and looked on.

"And if you don't leave from here within this minute then I'll make you a ghost too." She warned and stormed off.

"Class is here, why are you going there?" Sheesh asks and Swara, without turning replies with "None of your business!"

"She's so rude." Sahil huffs, making a face and Sheesh turns towards him "Forget her and focus on Sanskaar Maheshwari." Sheesh responds and Sahil nods.

Swara inhales a deep breath as she walks outside the college gate. Her eyes land on a silver parked Mercedes and she knew from that moment who it was. She took steady steps towards the car, preparing herself to face him, yet again.

Before she could walk further, she feels a hand on her shoulder and turns shockingly.

"Where are you going?" His question made her realise, "What are you doing here?"

"Here to make sure you don't do something stupid again!" He harshly replies and she sighed a small relief. Even though he's her half brother, she still felt relaxed after knowing he's here with her and that she doesn't have to face Jayant alone.

"Jayant, he messaged me." She answered his previous question and he creases his forehead. "Jayant's in Kolkata?"

Swara shakes her head positively and Sameer starts to think. "Okay, you go enjoy with him."

Swara looks on and before he could leave, she holds his hand. "No." She hurriedly responds "Not. . . Not alone." She stutters, which causes suspicion in his mind.

"W. . . We aren't supposed to see. . . Each other, before marriage." She gulped while thinking of an excuse to stop him.

"What the hell does that mean?"

"It's considered as bad omen if you see your husband before marriage. . . You won't understand."

"And since when have you started believing in this?"

"I. . ."

Swara's reactions had clicked Sameer's memory, he holds her by the shoulder as his expressions curved into seriousness. "Were the allegations you made on him a year ago true?" She was silent after his question, her heart felt numb as the incident flashes in slow images.

She was stood there, feeling her eyes moist up as the voices echoed in her ears. "Were the allegations true?" Sameer asked her again, this time shaking her.

She gazes at him with glassy eyes, not being able to reply. He had understood that she wasn't lying, she wasn't accusing him just to get rid of him, she wasn't hating on him just to break the alliance and she didn't allege him just to be free and bring his father's name down in shame.

"If I don't go on this lunch. . . Date with him. . . Then he will tell Pa. . . Papa." She painfully utters and gazes down, stopping her tears from flowing out.

Sameer had known how mad Shekhar would get when he hears Swara disobeying Jayant's orders, he had been there when Shekhar shouts at her and makes her feel like trash. He had been there when his father tortured Swara with his words, he had been there when his father treats her like a trash bin in the corner. He never realised due to the immense love he had received from his father, he had never seen Swara's pain in front of his happiness and now he felt slightly bad, not knowing why.

"My destiny is already written Sameer. . . I don't deserve happiness, I don't deserve love, I don't deserve time, I don't deserve anything that keeps a person happy! Sooner or later, I had to get married to him despite not wanting to, who am I to make my own choices? After this fake video leaked, all my chances drowned of surviving and now I realise my place is with Jayant. . . Who Papa chose for me." She utters, lifting her glistening eyes as she moves away from Sameer and heads towards the car.

Sameer watches her leave, not knowing why her words are affecting him, he wants to be like the old Sameer, who simply doesn't care but god knows why he started feeling sympathetic towards his half sister, Swara.

Sanskaar, who was stood on the other side of the gate looks on after hearing their talk.

"What allegations?" He asks himself and then remembers a drunk Swara talking to him "Jayant did something to her which made her like this and now she's being forced to marry him." He adds, realising the blunder he created.

"This is all my fault." He let's out a sigh, feeling extremely guilty for his deed.

"What is all your fault?" He looks to the side and sees Kavita standing there, he gulps, blinking at her.
