Future Series Final Part

Swara woke up next to her husband , she cried all night feelings guilty for pushing laksh to harm himself and then cried some more for her sister and her unborn baby .

She turn around to see her husband whose hand was still firmly wrapped around her , it was her tears that kept him awake all night , so she quitely got down from the bed and walked outside .

Somehow her eyes landed on the belongings of Ragini , Sanskar moved it to their house as he thought her family wasn't ready to see them yet .

A pink glossy diary captured her attention ,she knew it wasn't right to read it but she wanted to know the last thoughts of her sister , if they were close she would have had a insight but no they were poles apart

If she asked Sanskar , he might have persuaded her not to inflict pain on her own accord ,but he was still sleeping so she began with the last entry and an hour later she finished the whole 120 entries that included that night as well .

She saw first hand what guilt could destroy ,if it destroyed a man like Sanskar ,it will shatter Laksh and it was because of that she acted on impulse as she got ready , she planned to return before he woke up but knew he would panic if he woke up and didn't find her .

She gently tapped his shoulders until his eyes  opened up a little , then patted him back to sleep as she uttered the few words she needed to convey .

" Stepping out for a bit , will be back soon . Please sleep Sanskar , I am totally fine,  " Swara spoke up,  and she was relived when he only nodded his head in answer and maybe it was because she lost too much this last days that she found herself uttering those three words before existing the bedroom ..

" Love You Sanskar,  " three words spoken barely out of his ear shot and yet she didnt know those words she longed to hear were said by her sleeping husband .

" Love You too Shona,  " Sanskar murmured in his half sleep state and promptly drifted off to sleep . Not realizing if only he had said it out loud maybe maybe he could have stopped the events that transpired later.

Annapurna Maheshwari hated her more than Sujatha ,because she could forgive Sujatha for giving Laksh and Sanskar to her . And all Swara did was take them away from her . Yet she saw her speaking with her son as if nothing happened and she wasn't the reason he got here in the first place.

Annapurna stepped out for a moment to clear her head and get something to drink , and when she went back to her son hospital room ,swara was with her son talking to him .

     
So she waited  outside the room till she could cool down her anger , and her eyes drifted towards something that got her attention ,after she satisfied her curiosity ,she  stepped inside the room  with a face that wouldn't even give a glimpse of how she felt at the sight of Swara.

They both stopped talking at the sight of her and her son smiled at her ,which momentarily made her forgot everything she planned in the moment of hatred but yet she found herself offering the cup of coffee towards her.  Which she accepted after a moment of hesitation .

Annapurna watched as the girl, she hated drank the cup of coffee totally unaware of it being loaded with everything she could find in the hospital cabinet that was left unlocked ,no one bothered to notice Annapurna sneaking the tablets randomly out of the boxes .

  And then she took them all and tried to mix as much as possible in  single cup but it was worth it when the girl drank every last drop of it.

Annapurna wanted to see the girl die before her ,but she only seemed bit wobbly by the time she left ,it was a disappointment for sure as she couldn't see her writhing in pain but she hoped that by the end of the day Swara would have joined her sister .

        
" How r u beta? " Annapurna asked her son after she left . It hurt her so  much to know her son was willing to take his own life for a girl .

        
" I am sorry Mom ,so sorry , " Her son voice was raw with agony,  that she went up to embrace him and when he burst into tears she held him as long as he needed.  Because that what mother's do take care of their kids

Sanskar woke up to find his wife missing , at first he hoped to see  her in the kitchen but when his search came up empty ,he got worried . She had been a wreck ever since Lucky tried to kill himself . She relaxed only when the doctors declared him safe last night and even then she cried throughout the night .

          
He found her cell phone and car keys missing ,he called her and was glad when she answered with in the first ring ,as it cooled him down to hear her voice .

     
  " So you are up , I am on my way Sanskar .Will be there in few minutes,  " Swara spoke up,  and Sanskar realized his wife voice sounded bit off but he was more concerned about where she went so early .

     
" Where did you go and why didn't you wake me up,  " Sanskar asked her,  because it bothered him that he was not there for her .

    
" I woke you up and told you I am leaving and I didn't wait for you wake up because I wanted Laksh to hear it soon, I will tell you all about it when I get home actually I will tell you know,  " Swara answered back,  as she parked the car , she felt bit dizzy and hoped for a quiet moment before driving again .

          
Then she proceeded to tell her husband about what she read in Ragini diary about how Laksh was on a date with someone else that night and when he passed away drunk , his date left him after calling Ragini . Her sister wrote about how she let Laksh assume she was his date , in her dream like belief she hoped if she spent the night with him .He would realize she was the one .

  
                
And even when she knew he didn't have his full mental faculties ,she ignored it assuming it would be the only way for him to see her and then she went to sleep in his arms believing a proposal in the offering only to find him gone .

         
" Laksh was wrong Sanskar , but so was Ragini . She let him assume she was someone else ,even when he called her by some other name she held on to her hope , it twisted and sad but I wanted Laksh to know ,I don't want him to feel guilty for more then his share,  " Swara finished speaking up,  and waited for him to react .

      
" Fine , why are you saying all of this through phone and not in person,  " Sanskar voice drifted back to her .

      
" I felt slightly dizzy hence parked the car and what better way to spend the time then talk with my husband,  " Swara answered back,  and yet it caused Sanskar to worry about her .

    
" Wait for me ,I will come and pick you up .Don't drive if you don't feel like it , " Sanskar concerned voice made her smile ,it was so like him to make a mountain out of a hill .

   
" No Sanskar ,I am totally fine . I am just going to drive back again  . See you in 5 minutes and Love you Sanskar  ," Swara answered back,  as she started the car not realizing the temporary relief from dizziness escalated soon after ,she tried to get back home and yet when she lost the control of her body  movement's.She began to Panic ..

           
All it took was one minute from the time she realized something was wrong with her and before she could find a way , her car crashed on to the oncoming truck .

Sanskar starred at the phone as if it grew a head , just three words Love you Sanskar and it brought in the memory of an hour ago . He said those words back to her , not fully awake but his subconsciousness knew the truth before him .

           
He fought so hard against his feelings for her ,that he ultimately became immune to the truth . He expected the thought to terrify him ,instead it brought only relief for not being able to love her back and the  fact he loved his Shona made him smile  . 

        
And he wanted to say it back to her ,for all the times he didn't say he wanted to tell her thousand time more . He may have taken longer time to accept the truth but he wasn't going to waste one more second of their life by his continued silence .

         
When ten minutes passed and there was no sigh of her ,he called her and when it went unanswered he decided to drive and hope to intercept her on the way but he only stumbled upon the accident site ,the moment he saw her car. He lost a little of his mind .

      
But when the nurse told him ,she is in surgery yet again . He lost it completely. He only knew she may die even before knowing he loved her like crazy ,he thought everything was going to be okay .He thought he can keep her happy but all of them fell apart .

    
As luck would have it , she was admitted in the same hospital as  Laksh ,who was seated beside him ,he came as soon as he heard the news ,so did his bade maa. Sanskar couldn't call Swara family and tell them another of their daughter is in ICU .

     
But he made himself call after an hour because they deserve to know and when the doctors stepped out after four hours of surgery , he hoped against hope that she will be fine and go back to smiling at him in No time .

      
" We did what we could Mr Maheshwari , and now it all up to her .If she pulled through the night then she will make it but sorry to say the chances are slim,  " The doctors words kept going on an loop in his mind for the next few hours as he sat beside her .

        
" She told me about your marriage and I thought I was the only one cruel in the Maheshwari clan , she told me you are still hung up on Kavita and that you don't love her . Why do we keep hurting those who love us,  " Laksh was speaking but Sanskar was not hearing a word he was saying ,it was all in the past .He loved her and when she woke up he will tell it to her every single second .

      
Her family visited but Sanskar asked them to go home and he will stay with her and call them when she woke up . He began to believe she will pull through when few hours passed ,he began to assume she won't leave him .

     
  He sat beside her ,murmuring the three words over and over again . And when her eyes flickered open ,he breathed a sigh of relief . He tried to call the doctor but her fragile hands held him ,he desperately wanted to call the doctors but something about her expression halted him .

  
     
" You are gonna leave me too , Please fight Shona ,just one more time and I promise never to let you out of my sight ,just once Shona ..I Love you Shona ,i don't know  when i began to fall for you but I do Love you so so so much . Please don't leave me ,   " Sanskar voice held the raw fear he felt at the thought of losing her  but also the truth ,the only way he knew she heard him was by the slight widening of her eyes as a single drop of tear fell from them  and a brief smile the fitted through her face and then she stilled and he knew it was over. 

          
He didn't wait to hear the doctors call it in ,he walked away . He got into the car and began driving , he didn't let himself feel the emotions ,all he knew was he had to change their past , a past where is Shona doesn't die . And he loved her so much that he was willing  for her to live a life without him .

        
Because Laksh  had been right about one thing , all he ever did was hurt her but back then he didn't know life will never go the way he wanted , life will always threw a curve ball at you when you least expect it .

      
And sometimes ,sometimes it was for the best .

Present Sanskar will always say that his future self loved her . It was the present one that learnt to love her all over again ..
