■ Rude or not
The next week, I got up refreshed and had proper breakfast first. I was better now. Last night I wasn't falling asleep due to Mr. Weirdo but I had take a sleeping pill after which I slept like a log. It was a new day and I wouldn't mess it up.
At exactly 9:00, I was at Jared Grey's cabin door, feeling chirpier and happier.
"Come in," His usual bored voice rang out as I knocked despite the sensor activating.
I went in, "Good morning, sir," I said rather breezily.
He looked up, a bit concerned and scrutinised me from top to bottom. Then, when he couldn't find anything to complain or scold about, he cleared his throat.
"Good morning, you... um... uh... okay now?" He looked like it genuinely hurt him to say those words. Poor boy.
Jared Grey was concerned about me. That was so cool. It was nice to see him riled up for once. I felt so damn empowered.
"Much better now, sir. Thank you for the day off. I needed the weekend," I said, smiling crudely.
"Good, good. So, check the events for today and see if you can schedule all the pending meetings by next week," He said, turning his gaze away.
"Sir, you have a charity function today at 12:00," I informed, checking the schedule, "Then, post lunch I will be making calls to Neon Incs to set up a meeting for tomorrow. Otherwise, your schedule is clear post lunch. There is also a short webinar for the HR employees being held from 4'o clock today. I was wondering since I am relatively free in the afternoon and it can be a great learning experience-"
"Of course. You can go. Just make sure you just finish your work by then. I won't be requiring further assistance in the afternoon."
"Oh okay," I grinned. He gave a quick glance before looking away again.
"Good. We will leave at 11:00 then. We shall return by end of lunch hour," He replied a bit too loudly.
"Sure sir," I said, suddenly enjoying the whole scene too much. It was so unusual to see him so awkwardly polite and nice. It seemed he was trying not to be his usual snarky self and genuinely behave properly for once.
"Don't do that," He spoke curtly.
"Do what?"
"Smile so much. It's weird," He cleared his throat, shifting around in his chair.
The smile would break my face now. I loved affecting him. It felt so good to see him like this. A sadistic pleasure crept inside me.
"Shall I not smile, sir?" I poked.
"That's not what I meant," He rolled his eyes.
"Then?"
"Do whatever you want to do. Don't bug me, woman."
"As you say, sir," I even did a fancy curtsy as he narrowed his eyes at me.
He nodded and I took it as my cue to leave.

"So, Jared Grey was actually soft on you this morning?" Lily asked me as I came back after giving his coffee.
"Yup. Can't believe myself," I chuckled.
"Woah. Did you finish those files that day? Plus, why didn't you come on Saturday?" She asked curiously.
"Long story," I smiled thinking of the previous night. My boss had finally showed an older side of him. I knew that boy wasn't bad deep down. He still cared about others. He was a good boy maybe.
"I have a feeling he likes you," She said, studying my over zealous expression.
"Wrong. He doesn't like me. He hates me," I corrected, still smiling like an idiot. I was so happy today. Nothing could go wrong.
I was over the moon, baby.
"Why would he hate you?" She asked.
"I did something which I regret greatly. And he hates me for that," I sang.
"Hmm...you seem to know about him a lot and vice versa," She said, checking out her perfectly manicured nails.
"We do. We do," I wiggled my eyebrows, "I am his assistant afterall."

At exactly 11:00, I heard Jared coming down. I was ready to go too as he walked by my desk. He nodded and I followed him towards his waiting car. I got in first.
I was travelling with Jared in his car alone. Well, if you exclude his driver. Gordon would be, for some reason travelling in another car. I had no idea why and I didn't feel like asking either.
The very thought made me shiver. It was the Jared Grey effect. But since I was extra happy today, I wouldn't let anything ruin the mood. Not even Jared Grey himself.
"You said no more events after this, right?" Jared interrupted my thoughts.
"Um... no," I checked and smiled back at him. He raised an eyebrow at my sudden show of happiness. He mumbled something which sounded strongly like 'Must be high' and 'Weird, got hit on the head'.
He didn't speak after that. The whole car ride was silent and I didn't mind it one bit. I was smiling at everything while Jared sat there expressionless.
Though that didn't deter me from giving him occasional glances and receiving the same in return.

By the time the charity event was done, (in which I was sweating like a pig and fanning myself, Jared did his job and gave few interviews) it was already 2:00 pm.
I reminded myself to pick some snacks when we returned.
As Jared was finally done and we proceeded back to our office, Jared said, "Adam, stop at L'Evans. We are gonna have lunch there," The last sentence was directed at me.
"Sir, its okay. I will have my lunch from my usual place-"
"Shut up. I won't have you fainting again. One time was enough. Its past lunch time and we both haven't had our lunch yet," He said in his signature bored voice.
"But-"
"And wipe that smile off your face. You look suspicious and I won't be taking you back to my place if you faint again. It will be the hospital this time and the doctor won't hesitate to plunge a syringe in your arm," He added.
Back to bastard mode.
