4: Meeting The Family

By the time you arrived at the abandoned city, there was already a fight about to ensue.

"Zuko, who's that there girl?" You asked, as you felt his body heat up out of anger.

"That," He said as he hopped off the ostrich horse and put his shirt back on, "Would be my sister."

You simply sat on the ostrich-horse and watched the chaos unfold as Zuko became torn between his sister and the avatar. The fight broke out and it became clear that Zuko was no match for either the avatar or his own sister.

I know that feeling. My brother was always better at everything. I had to work real hard to even compare. You thought to yourself as more and more people joined the fight. You had no intention of joining of course, who ever had you on their team had an unfair advantage. But when it suddenly became six against one, you figured Azula's luck had changed. She may be good, but there's just too many. Six was a lot for even you to handle. Three people was usually the maximum if you were taking over their whole bodies, and that left you incredibly tired. That was the drawback to being a blood bender; you run out of steam within minutes, rather than hours.

As Azula surrendered, you had a terrible feeling wash over you. She didn't seem like the type to surrender so easily, but as you had decided it wasn't your place to interfere, you did nothing. As a blue streak of lightning struck the old man, you hear Zuko scream out. Who is this man to him? You thought as all four benders and Sokka attacked Azula. Certainly dead. No way! But as the cloud of dust cleared away, you realized that you were wrong and that the princess was certainly not to be underestimated.

Zuko ran over to the old man and collapsed next to him. Katara and the others walked up behind him, offering to help but all Zuko could do was scream.

"LEAVE!" As he threw flames out at team avatar.

You considered leaving as well. It would be more worth your time and effort to follow the princess who would certainly go back to the fire nation. You hopped off the poor, terrified creature, determined to leave when you heard something from behind you.

"YN, please," Zuko was crying, "please save him." Sighing, you looked at him. It wasn't much of a blood problem and he'd probably be fine with time, but you figured you could check for internal bleeding.

As you sat down and worked on the old man, you figured that you'd ask what his relation was to Zuko.

"He's my uncle. We've been traveling together for years now."

"Where was he when we met?" you inquired, as you reached out for bandages.

"We... had a misunderstanding. But that's over now."

"Hmm." You thought out loud, "He'll be right as an armadillo-lion, but he should rest up for a few days. You're lucky that I didn't feel like chasin' after the princess. She woulda took me right to your dumb ol' daddy."

Suddenly, your body was much warmer. Zuko was hugging you.

"Thank you so much, YN. I promise I'll get you there."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." You rolled your eyes, but hugged the poor boy back.
