Chapter 1.19:
"Mmm..."
I moaned softly as I shifted my body against Riley's warmth. I couldn't resist the urge to bury my nose in her hair to breathe her in. How the fuck did her hair still smell like it was freshly washed and dried under the sun even after the insane night she just had?
I could lay in bed like this all day wrapped up in this girl.
Except, I was really fucking thirsty.
The last thing I drank last night was the half bottle of water I stole from Riley at the bar. If I laid here any longer, I was going to die from dehydration.
I slowly unwound myself from around the sleeping girl so I wouldn't wake her up. She was in desperate need of some rest and probably some extra strength pain reliever. I made a mental note to grab some from the bathroom on the way back. Riley was going to have a killer headache when she finally woke up.
"No." She whined and reached her arm out across the bed as soon as I was standing on my feet.
I waited for her to say something else to me or grumble like she normally did, but she didn't utter another sound or open her eyes to look at me.
Riley was still asleep.
I went over to my dresser and pulled out a pair of dark shorts. Running around the house in my boxers didn't normally bother me, but there was no telling who was passed out downstairs and I was sporting a massive tent in my pants from rubbing up against the blond in my bed. No matter how she moved or repositioned throughout the night, she would always manage to find my dick.
Not that I minded at all, but it had left me feeling a little overly full this morning.
As I began to walk towards the door, Riley turned over on the bed and scooted across it until she was almost sideways. She fumbled around a few more seconds until she snagged the pillow I was lying on last night. Once it was securely in her grasp, she tucked it under her arm and let out a big sigh as she snuggled up to it and mumbled something incoherent.
I was fucking grinning ear to ear as I unlocked the door to leave the room.
My smile lasted a whole two seconds until JD and I almost collided in the hallway.
"Sorry, dude." He apologized as he craned his head to try to sneak a peek into my room through the cracked door. Riley pulled the blanket up over her head just as he leaned past my shoulder to get a good look.
"Morning," I grunted as I quickly shut the door behind me.
"Wait, was that a girl in your bed? Ezra Miller actually let a girl sleepover. Hell has frozen over." JD grinned.
"What? No. My room is a mess." I tried to cover.
"Who you trying to hide in there?" JD smirked and reached for the doorknob like he was going to go in.
Shit. I didn't want to end up in a fistfight this early in the morning. There was no way JD could find out his little sister was in my bed with no pants on. Even though we didn't do anything last night, we both looked guilty as fuck.
I had actually done the right thing last night and it was about to backfire on me tenfold.
"Mia." I blurted out.
"I didn't even see her come over last night. I thought you were done with her." JD chuckled and took a step back when I gave him what he wanted.
"Well, you know. Easy pussy." I shrugged.
"Damn. Well, you better hurry up and get back to it then. I have to take Anna home anyway. She has been a giant pain in the ass this morning. She has been bugging me about what we are doing for her birthday. You probably have the right idea about this flying solo thing. Having a girlfriend sucks." JD started down the hall towards the stairs.
"Hey, JD." I stopped him before he could disappear. I should have just let him go, but it was also the perfect opportunity to corner him about the tickets I bought last night.
"What's up?" He asked.
"About Anna's birthday. I got those Camo tickets from Sean last night. You said Anna wanted to go, right?" I knew the answer, but I needed him to say it for my plan to work.
"Are you serious? How many tickets?" JD lit up like a fireworks display.
"Six. The band and Anna makes five and that leaves one extra."
"Are you taking Mia?" JD asked.
"Nah, she doesn't like them. Does Anna have a friend or something she would want to bring since it's her birthday?"
Please don't fucking backfire on me.
"Would you be mad if I invited my sister to go? I know you two don't really get along and she is annoying, but she has been dying to see them." JD looked like I would be doing him a huge favor by agreeing.
"Yeah, whatever." I shrugged as I secretly celebrated my victory.
Lucky for me, JD was the most predictable person on the planet.
"I owe you big time. I can't wait to tell the girls. Do you know Riley ended up anyway? I haven't seen her this morning." JD suddenly had a concerned look on his face.
"Uh, Aiden said something about her going to sleep in his room last night." I lied.
"Oh yeah, he was on duty last night. I forgot. When she gets up, tell her to text me. She is going to lose her mind when I tell her about the tickets."
JD turned and galloped down the stairs like an awkward lumberjack. He was one of the most uncoordinated people I have ever met in my life. Every time I watched him walk, it was like his left foot and right foot were controlled by two different brains.
I followed slowly behind him down the steps and breathed a sigh of relief when he went straight out of the front door.
I went into the kitchen and my jaw dropped; it was a fucking disaster. There was broken glass on the floor and dried spots of blood from where I smashed in the pink-haired guy's face last night. One of his rings was still on the ground next to the fridge.
It looked like a tornado had ripped the place apart. I wasn't in the mood to clean it up this morning. Eventually someone would get sick of looking at the mess and do it themselves.
I grabbed a cup from one of the cupboards and turned on the faucet to fill up the glass. I gulped down the whole thing in two swallows and filled it up again. I repeated the motion and polished off another glass just as fast.
I felt instantly better with the cool liquid in my stomach.
Before heading back up the stairs, I reached for another cup and filled it at the sink for Riley in case she wanted it.
The only other drink option we had in the house right now was more alcohol and I wasn't going to let her have any more this morning. She had her fair share last night.
I went back up the stairs and stopped in the bathroom long enough to piss. At the last second, I decided to gargle some mouthwash just in case. When I looked in the mirror, my hair was sticking up a bit in the front. I tried to smooth it down a bit without much success. The only way to tame it would be to hop in the shower, but I didn't want to take the risk of Riley sneaking out before I got back into the room.
I started to walk out when I remembered the aspirin. I grabbed the bottle out of the medicine cabinet and went back out into the hall.
"Is Riley awake yet?" Aiden asked me as he rubbed the sleepy drunkenness away from his eyes. He was standing in the doorway of his room, watching mine like a hawk.
He was waiting for her to come out.
"No, she passed out as soon as I made her lay down. She is still out. I just went to go get some water and aspirin for her. She is going to have a terrible hangover." I gritted my teeth as he gave me a suspicious glare.
"Have you told JD anything?" Aiden frowned.
"No, and I'm not going to." I shut the conversation down and started walking back to my room when Aiden called to me again.
"Hey, do you want me to take over this morning?"
I laughed. Of course he would love that. He would jump on any chance he could to look like a knight in shining armor to that girl.
"No, I don't have to work until later. I can handle her." I tried to play off the burning sensation in my gut, but it was threatening to take over my whole body. I had to get back in the room with her before I lost it on Aiden.
There was no way I was going to let him anywhere near her.
