So according to this:

Our first look at season 3 will be coming on April 22nd, at the Closing Reception panel for the Star vs The Forces of Evil Art show in California.

Creator Daron Nefcy and Marco's Voice Actor Adam McArthur will be there as well as many of the crew of the show.

Now I can somewhat confirm that the show will return for season 3 in possibly June or July. But I cannot confirm it 100% just yet, but I am pushing towards a June 2017 date because then it will be the shortest hiatus for a Disney Animated Program, because we all know how Disney is Known for the extremely long hiatus, then again, better to wait then rush them, rushing perfection leads to a garbage fire.
