Take Me To Your Leader
"Hey..." I say, blushing. "Can you lend me your phone? My bike broke and mine's dead."
The girl turns to me, long blond hair flowing behind her and a savage look in her blue eyes. She wore a helmet with white wings on it and a pair of skulls tattooed on her cheeks. Her shoulder had huge armory pates on them, and her chest plate was the same dark blue as her helmet. The shoulder plates were the same light-silver blue as her skirt, still metal. Her leggings had the same zigzag pattern as the chest plate and led down to knee length, metal, silver boots, which were covered in spikes.
I sigh, it was the middle of the night. Not like any sane people would be on the streets.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" She turns and points an object at me. I guess you could call it a wand or some sorts, it glowed green... Sorta.
"I'm Marco!" I raise my hands in the air mockingly. "Who're you?"
"My name is Princess Star Butterfly of the Butterfly-Johansen Family; the rulers of Mewni and the slayers of Monsters!" She proclaims.
"Yeah sure. And I'm Marco the fifth of Fibberton, in line for the thrown on my dog's left foot's aunt's goldfish's barber's side."
"I have come to conquer your world, you insignificant spec! It would be wise not to upset me."
"Hey!" I rebuttable. "I'm more than a spec!"
"Your world is no match for mine! We have magic! You have none of the sorts!"
"Have you seen light switches!?" I shout, throwing my healthy mop of brown hair back in laughter. "I mean, you flip a switch and then their is light!? Like... How does that even work!?"
"Stop your babbling boy!" Her wand glows brighter. "Where is your palace?"
"If by palace you mean Comic Con you have the wrong date!"
"SHUT IT!" She growls. "Where. Is. Your. Palace?"
"It's in my backyard, right under my shed." I laugh. Who the fudge nuggets was this girl!? Clearly, she ain't from around here.
"TAKE ME TO THIS SHED!"
I stop laughing. "What no!? You are not coming to my house!"
"You're house!? Are you royalty!?"
"I'll give you a royal beating if you don't beat it first!"
"JUST-" she pretends to calm down a little. "Take me to your queens and kings."
"My what and..." I sigh and push her wand down, "Okay listen girly. This was fun, you really had me going there."
"What?" She growls back.
"Clearly you're a cosplayer. I'll give you some brownie points, you have some real acting prows. But it's like midnight and I wanna go home now. So will you please just lend me your phone to call my parents?"
"P-Phone?" She questions.
"Yeah. Cellular communication? What did you grow up in a barn?"
"I grew up in a castle that ruled over the harshest kingdom around!"
"Drop the act already." I sigh, throwing my hands into my red sweatshirt pockets and sitting down on the curb. "I'll just wait for some one to drive by."
"No!" She shouts, 'wand' to my throat. "Take me too your leaders!"
"I can't take you anywhere with my bike smashed!" I shout. "Just stop with the act!"
"ALL I NEED... YOU INCOMPETENT... GAH!" 'Star' spins around and flicks her green glowing wand towards a pet store.
And it exploded.
"WOAH!" I scream and slip off of curb. She breathes through her teeth and turns back to me, eyes slipping from the threatless blue to an intense pink.
"I will ask you one more time, Marco the fifth!" She becomes inches from my face and my heart drops to my stomach and all the oxygen escaped from my lungs. "Where are your leaders!?"
I begin to shake, my brain vibrating with a realization, "You're telling the truth!?"
"WHERE ARE YOUR LEADERS!?!?"
"Leader?" I wiggle away from her and let a small laugh lead my mouth. "We don't... Uh... Have one?"
"WHAT!?" She screams. "THIS IS A DIMENSION OF ANARCY!?"
"Uh no..." I sit back up, her eyes dying down.
"Then where are your leaders!?"
"Which ones?" I laugh a little, "we have a lot."
"ANARCY!" She screams again, lifting her green wand into the air. "I SHALL CONQUER YOUR WORLD AND RELEASE YOU FROM THIS CHAOTIC REALM OF DEATH!"
"Woah!" I get up and grab her arm and yank it down. She turns to me and grabs my shoulder, pulling forward until I flip over and somehow end up on a bruised tail bone on my back.
"No one touches the princess!" She declares.
I roll my eyes so I look at her face, which was almost level with mine. Her fading pink to blue ones connect with my brown ones with uneasy air hanging around us.
"Okay okay ow!" I growl as I shake my head and try sitting up, holding my smashed back. "We aren't in chaos, weirdo. It's a democracy!"
"A what?" She snaps back. I sit up and pat across from me. She makes a face and sits across from me and our eyes connect, tension high.
"So uh..." I rub my neck. "We have like... Countries here. And like... Each country has there own rulers. And like... Each state or providence or city has there own leaders. But like... There are multiple leaders for one area I guess."
She stares at me, wide eyed. "But, you must have a singular God-like figure that rules over your whole dimension, like my mom does to mine!"
"Nope." I smile at the girl, pulling her bond hair behind her ear. She glares at my action but doesn't stop me. "You'll have to conquer a lot of people and armies and then you'll have to deal with revolutions of people, most people don't take to kindly to dictators, ya know?"
It was at that moment that I realized that I was basically saving the world. One wrong move would make this girl go exploded other buildings and she seemed like she really could do some damage. She could conquer the world... and she was the same age as me!
She purses her lips. "Well I have to conquer you. My mother with have my head if I don't."
I gulp down, my face white. I smile awkwardly at the interdimensional Princess. "Or... You could like... Not go back?" I cough awkwardly, what am I saying!? If she goes home her crazy dimensional-monster-alien-dragon things will be unleashed on this world! And if she stays, she'll destroy the world!
Unless I... Unless I stop her, I guess.
"Stay? Stay here!? On this dirt rock! That I'm supposed to destroy!?"
I gulp and nod. "Your parents don't need to know... I guess. And you could learn about Earth things. Like... Our government and nature and... Uh... People?"
She coughs, scoffs, thinks, growls and ends with a small smile. "Well if I can't conquer this world, I guess you could stay here. With you?"
I nod slowly. "Just uh..." I turn to see the burning building. "Don't uh... Do that anymore."
She grits her teeth. "Fine I guess."
I smile and sweat nervously. "Good."
Oh God, this was definitely a mistake.
