Unstable

"Moon" Oxmitraxus Prime sighs entering Star's nursery as she sleeps in her crib, "we have a serious problem."

"What is it?" Moon asks, "is it Toffee?"

"It's Star," Prime sighs, "she has to die."

"Excuse me?" Moon glares.

"This Star Butterfly is an error," Prime explains, "one I must correct."

"How so?"

"All the timelines, all of them have one or two changes. This Star... look, our Star was supposed to be male. This Star is not, and as time goes on, she will slowly take on the traits of other timelines."

"What could cause that?"

"Have you been cursed?"

"I think... Toffee cursed me. Years ago."

"That would do it. Look, Star is going to become very powerful. If she takes on the traits of an evil Star Butterfly, the High Commission will not hesitate to kill her. Is that clear?"

"Absolutely."

"Good. Farewell Moon."

Prime leaves. Moon grips the side of Star's crib and whispers to her, "I promise. I'll protect you..."

Fourteen years later.

Star rushes down the hall, an eager grin on her face. Today's the day she gets her wand. Her heart pounds in her chest. Causing what Moon calls, "The Flicker."

Star had always had issues. Whenever she was embarssed, or angry, the flicker would occur. Her eyes would change from a demonic red to a monstrous green. Her demon horns would fade in and out, and her monster tail would appear and dissapear. Moon had always told her to hide the flicker, but she never knew why. After all...

She was blind.

As Star rushes down the hall, she eagerly smiles. Fire begins to flicker around her from her demonic traits. She enters the room with excitement as she approaches Moon.

Moon sighs with concern as she notices The Flicker.

"Star," Moon explains as Star bounces eagerly up and down, "remember what we talked about. If you flicker to much, you'll get more traits. More traits means more problems."

"Sorry! Sorry!" Star calms herself, "I'm just so excited!"

"Remember," Moon reminds as she hands Star the wand, "if you get a green glow, you need to call me immediately."

"I know!" Star sighs, "let's try this thing! Hellfire Monstrous Blast of Eyes!"

Winged eye balls appears from the wand, somewhere between demonic and monstrous as they shoot fire beams.

Moon sighs, "there's one other thing. You're not staying here."

"What?" Star asks, "why?"

Moon thinks about the High Commission, but lies, "because I think it'd help with The Flicker to go to a place with less magic. You're going to Earth."

"Really?" Star asks.

"Yeah. Get ready."

"OK," Star shrugs. She heads up to her room and packs her valuabled possessions. An old battle ax from River, given to her as a gift. A photo of her demon boyfriend Tom, and, of course, placed on her bed, the spell book."

With these things, she goes to Moon.

"Be safe Star," Moon hugs Star, clinging to her knowing that if she gets one evil trait...

"I will," Star hugs her back, "I love you mom."

"Have fun too," River chuckles, "be a shining Star."

"I will," Star chuckles, "goodbye guys!"

Star heads to Earth. Arriving in an office where she I greeted by a fat balding man speaking to a young student in a red hoodie.

"See," the balding man smiles, "there she is. Told you."

The student gets up and looks at Star.

"So," the student asks, "he's not crazy?"

"Nope!" Star smiles, "can you help me? I'm completely blind. Which way do I go? What's your name?"

"I'm Marco," the student explains, "I have a question. Like, apparently you were arranged to come as an exchange student a few months ago but... what ARE you?'

"Oh," Star smiles, "I'm-"

She stops. What is she? She's never been asked that. He takes a moment to think.

"I'm..."

She begins to flicker from uncertainty.

"I'm... I'm..."

"Star?" Marco asks, "you OK?"

"I'm..."

"Star? Come on. Snap out of it"

"I'm..."

"Look, pretend I never asked."

"That works too."

"Come on. I'll show you around."

Marco begins to lead Star around the school, Star chews her wand eagerly, but also insecurly strokes her own hair. What is she? Demon? Monster? Mewmen? She doesn't know.

"So," Marco explains as they walk, "this is Echo Creek. You're gonna like it here. It's a nice town. Good place for someone from... where are you from?"

"Oh," Star smiles, summoning a rainbow with photonegative colors curiosity of her monster traits, "I'm magical princess from another dimension. I was sent here to train. You?"

"Just a kid with a hoodie," Marco shrugs.

"Huh," Star asks, "that's it?"

"Pretty much," Marco sighs.

"So, what do you do for fun?"

"I pratice karate. You?"

"Most anything really."

"What's with the tail?"

"I actually have no idea. Moon never explained why I'm like this."

"Who's Moon?"

"My mom."

"Oh. She queen?"

"Yeah."

"I see," Marco shrugs as the bell rings, "well, it's time to head home. See ya Star."

"Bye Marco!" Star smiles and waves.

Marco pulls his hoodie up and walks away quickly, unsure what to think of the freakish being before him as he heads home...

Where he I greeted by Star.

"Hey Marco!" Star smiles as she sits with Marco's parents.

"Star?" Marco asks, "you're staying here?"

"Yeah," Star smiles, "isn't it great?"

"I... guess?" Marco shrugs, "but I still would be more comfortable if you knew what you were."

"Still have no idea!"

"Alright. Well, I'm going to bed early. Good night."

"Night Marco!" Star smiles.

Marco heads up to his room. Star continues talking to the Diazs, enjoying her new home on Earth, but something causes her to flicker. She is oddly curious about Marco...
