[3] Shop Hopping

The following day, (y/n) meets with the Kamisato siblings at their place and they head to the nearby mall.  Four floors, one underground and the entrance at the first level by the grocery.

"Did you you have your meal late (y/n)? We could have an early lunch before shopping." Ayato asks them.

"Oh I just ate before I left my place. How about you two?"

"We had breakfast around eight." Ayaka replies.

"Wow that's quite early for weekends." With (y/n) and their mom they'd usually have late lunches past 9:30.

"Shall we do a bit of shopping first then? Ayaka, you wanted to go look for clothes right? You and (y/n) can browse around together, I'm going to withdraw money."

"Okay!"

Ayato heads off on his own direction and Ayaka takes (y/n)'s hand. "You're going to be the judge on whether the outfit looks nice on me or not hehe."

"Suuure." They respond somewhat reluctantly.

The two first enter a shop with rather cutesy apparel. A lot of pastels, skirts, and dresses. Ayaka picks out a few that caught her eye and tries them on, styling each differently.

"So what did you think? Which outfit looks the best?"

"They all look good on you to be honest." (Y/n) sighs. No matter what cutesy attire Ayaka would put on she'd always look great in it. The Kamisato siblings were indeed attractive people.

Ayato could be dressed in a clown suit and the people down real bad would still be on their knees, (y/n) thought.

Wait why am I thinking of him in a clown suit? Get it together self.

"Hmm... If that's the case, I guess I could buy all of them." Ayaka stares at the apparel she held in her arms. "I can't choose what's best on me either."

"All...— right. Sure." In such a dilemma (y/n) would've just left the store with nothing if they couldn't pick something. The qualms of being indecisive.

The two proceed to the check out and Ayaka pays for the clothes she chose. Afterwards they enter another apparel shop but the items had a more vintage aesthetic. The lady again chose what she found appealing, tried them on, all looked nice on her so she bought them all and they did the same for the next few apparel shops until Ayato was back, with grocery bags too.

"I went to get some groceries. Are you two done clothes shopping?" Ayato asks. By then Ayaka had so many bags of clothes (y/n) helped to carry a few. Ayato didn't seem surprised at all, perhaps it was a normal occurrence.

"Yeah, I'm done! But maybe (y/n) wants to buy some things while we're here."

"I'm good. Trying to save up money. Ish. Actually I haven't saved anything."

"Oh. hmm. There's this one last store I want to check out!" Ayaka adds. "They sell really cute plushies."

"Haven't you bought enough already? We're going to have lunch surrounded by bags of your purchases." Ayato frowns.

"Let's just go take a look." She insists.

With Ayaka in front, (y/n) and Ayato follow along as they head to the shop in question.

There were a bunch of cute plushies, bags, keychains, small appliances and even cosmetics. (Y/n) found themself staring at a pusheen holding a little rainbow with a pastel pink, yellow, and blue color. Tempted to purchase. I have enough but I can't spend to rashly.

But it's too cute!

"Do you want that?" Ayato walks to their side.

"It's erm, a little expensive so I'm thinking if I'm going to buy it or not."

"I'll buy it for you."

"Huh? I mean, that's really sweet but you don't have to."

"I'll buy one for myself, and Ayaka too. Then the three of us would have a matching cat plushy. I'll pick the one holding a cookie." He takes the aforementioned plush into his hands, gently squishing it. "Ayaka, can you come here for a bit?"

"I heard you. Matching plushies yes? I'll take this one." She takes the pusheen plush that had a little mustache and top hat. (Y/n) sheepishly grabs the one they were looking at.

"I'll eat all your freakish cookies next time you make them." They rush to speak.

"Just take it as a gift, you don't need to repay me for it in any way." Ayato extends his hand and pats their head. (Y/n) feels a rush of warmth to their face.

"Fine."

After walking around the shop for a little longer, they proceed to check out and Ayato pays for the three plushies. For now the pusheens are shoved into a bag while they go for lunch.

"It's already 1:30." Ayato checks his phone. "Any ideas on where you two want to eat?"

"I want (y/n) to pick, I want to know what foods they like." The sisters replies.

To their dismay, their indecisive self has been chosen to pick the lunch destination. An awkward silence lingers, the two siblings stare at (y/n) awaiting their answer.

"McDonalds?"

"Sounds good to me! I'll have nuggies." Ayaka grins.

The three have their lunch at McDonald's and head home afterwards separate ways. Holding onto the pusheen plush (y/n) dawdles on the thought of how they're going to end up associating the plush with Ayato.
