Chapter Two

"What is it, Dad?" Susie asked from the table, a clump of light green seaweed on her fork, raised halfway to her fanged mouth.

"Nothing, honey. Don't worry," he said, looking at her before turning his head back to Abdorok. Azura and his husband spoke quietly for a moment, worried looks on their faces.

Why? Why did something have to disturb their peaceful life here, in a sponge? All Azura and Abdorok wanted was to live in peace with their demon daughter, but people kept wanting to destroy that dream, from the talking potato that had a problem with Abdorok trying to eat it to the fish man that had a problem when they defended themselves against his trying to kill them and take their faces off.

Moments later, a BOOM interrupted their conversation. Dishes rattled on the kitchen table as another boom sounded, closer this time.

Azura frowned, his blue eyes widening as he looked out their circular window onto the street.

Fabulously fabulous. That was the only way to describe the person standing outside their spongy abode. His tuxedo was hot pink, and he wore a rainbow-striped tie, the color of the sky. And his skin looked like a granola bar. Azura knew him immediately.

The Granola Bar King.

*dun... dun... DUNNNN!!!!*
