Chapter Ten
Once completely hidden inside the giraffe enclosure, Susir got on his hands and knees. Susie was very confused and concerned for her brother's mental health. He slowly changed his limbs from human to giraffe, and growing taller and taller. The air seemed to circle around him (it was actually) as Susie watched his transformation.
He looked down at her when he was done. "Now you try! Just think of the pretty zebra, and you can become it!" Susie did as he did, only she was thinking of a zebra, and soon enough she turned into a dark blue and white version of a zebra. "So what do we do now, Susir?"
He began to trot out of the enclosure and she followed. "We're going to help save our parents! First we're gonna have to find some machines to get back home, and the only ones I know of are very far from here so it'll be a long trot. In our previous form, we would have taken years to walk to the main hub of transportation: the British airplane."
Susie didn't understand much of anything he said, but that made her trust him: he clearly knows what he is doing. So they started to trot out of the sanctuary when some one screamed "WILDLIFE ON THE LOOSE!!!" All the visitors panicked and headed back to their safari Jeeps. Susir trotted faster than before and Susie followed suit. There were now several jeeps following them. "Susir, why are they chasing us-" "JUST KEEPING RUNNING SUSIE!!!"
About ten minutes into the running helicopters showed up and darts were being shot out. They had to go into zig-zags to avoid them, which was hard for Susie to do as she was not used to her new legs (the second new pair that is). The darts started to slow down, since the forces behind them were running low on ammunition. They started to drop large nets, one almost caught Susie but Susir ran back to get her.
"The real question is, how did only two animals of separate species escape," one man said to the driver of one of the vehicles. "I'm not sure lad, though they seem to be communicating with each other as if they were one in the same, which is quite intriguing." They kept running out of supplies, and soon enough needed back up.
This is when they got close enough to the city to where they no longer needed to be animals. Of course, this also meant that the police were about to be on their tails. Susir and Susie turned a sharp turn into an alley way. They took several turns before they finally stopped and turned back into their strange human forms. They then walked out normally on another side, back into the public.
"What a ride, am I right Susie?" She nodded her head at this and went to hold his hand. Since, well, ew people, and there were lots of cars. They soon made their way to the airport, where they learned that since Susie doesn't have a passport and Susir is broke, they cannot fly.
"Do we have to turn back into the animals then, Susir?" Susir shook his head. "It's not safe too turn back and forth all the time. Let's see if anyone locally can help instead."
