Chapter One
The water always flowed smoothly in the mornings, but it was somehow strong enough to awaken one of the most ancient beings: Abdorok. The giant shapeshifting creature opened his eye to see his husband, Azura, had already gone downstairs to take care of their sweet little angel, Susie. The moment he imagined his little Azzy and his daughter, he "smiled" (as he had no real mouth). He loved those two more than any world he had ever known, which always struck him as odd, but he loved that fact anyway. He immediately opened the stiff sponge door so he could greet them.
He floated smoothly down the stairs and he heard a delighted squeal from the room he just entered. "Susie! You need to finish your seaweed before you can get up!" Azura was trying to keep the bubbly, delightful hybrid child under control, but was failing miserably. The sweet little girl could never be stopped when wanting to give either of her parents a hug. She swiftly wiggled her way out of the highchair and swam over to Abdorok, giggling the whole way. "DADDY!" She squealed even more when Abdorok grabbed her with one of his tentacles to bring her into an embrace.
Abdorok laughed slightly at his adorable offspring. "Alright, alright, you need to go back to the table now, darling." Susie pouted slightly, but she did as she was told. Azura then handed his husband a plate of seaweed. "Everybody's got to eat breakfast, dear," Azura said. Abdorok took the plate with one tentacle and used another to give him a hug as well. "Thank you, love."
"Daddy, Daddy, I had a dream last night!" They directed their attention towards the young girl. "What kind of dream, sweetheart?" Azura asked, a bright smile on his face. "An awesome dream! I met a giraffe, and we went on an adventure to save the world!" The couple chuckled. "That sounds like it was a nice dream, darling!" Abdorok said.
As soon as they finished their breakfast, they heard a telephone ring. "I'll get it," Azura told them as he slowly rose up from his seat. He swam quickly towards the phone, and answered the call. The more he listened, the more worry went through him. He swam back into the kitchen and whispered something to Abdorok, who shed a tear.
