Chapter Nine

Once Susie stopped waving, which was quite awhile because her eyesight is superb and can see for light years, she turned her attention towards the crowd. She ran up to them, pushing her way to be closest to the giraffe man. "And now that we've gone over the basic rules, follow me to our first enclosure of lions!"
She followed him to the area, people behind her questioning who's child she was until they saw the magnificent beasts. They were four legged, with a huge mane, which awed Susie. She walked towards the fenced off enclosure, as close to the tour guide as possible to keep herself safe. A lion walked up to the side of the fence where she was and roared loudly. She never heard a sound like that back at home, and she was astonished. The people behind her were taking pictures of the creature, but once they were done, the group moved on.
"Next is the meerkats, they're pretty cute and they love pictures!" The next enclosure had a bunch of holes and the ground, which confused Susie. They were allowed to walk around in this enclosure, so she went up to one of the holes and stuck her hand in it. Something fuzzy clung onto it, and she pulled her hand out rapidly and screamed. The tour guide rushed over to her, and then he saw the situation and giggled. "Haha he must've thought you were a worker! They like to do that sometimes, let me take him off." He carefully released the meerkat's grasp, freeing Susie's arm. She told him thank you and vowed to never stick her hand in a hole ever again.
The group moved on to the elephants. There was an enclosure for them this time, so no mishaps were going to happen here. "These bad boys have some huge ears so that they can ear really well. Ain't that right, George?" An elephant howled from several feet away, seeming to prove his point. Susie didn't care too much about these guys, though they were a little scary.
The next animal nearly blew Susie's mind. "These zebras are the most abundant creature in the park! They are similar to what you guys know as a horse, but they're quite different in a couple ways. Like their tail isn't as hairy!" The tour guide continued talking while Susie was just in awe of the creatures. One of the zebras acknowledged her, and trotted up towards the enclosure. It got really close, to where they were almost touching. Susie broke that air by going up to pet it. The tour guide rushed over to stop her, but the zebra didn't mind the petting, and seemed to enjoy it.
He smiled looking at Susie and the zebra. He didn't know this kid, but it seemed like he was about to get to know her real soon. He noticed that no one was rushing up to stop her either, meaning she came here alone. He went closer to her and tapped her shoulder. "Hey kiddo, so where's your mother?" She looked up at him in confusion. "Your father, then?" "They are at home, though now that I think about it, I'm not sure if they are dead or not." The tour guide was stunned.
"What's your name?" "I'm Susie! What's yours?" "I'm Susir! Have you heard about that name?" Susie nodded her head, still petting the zebra. "I have a brother named Susir, I haven't seen him though. I was told to give you a note, can I give it to you now?" Susir accepted the note offer, and she pulled it out of her bag. It was crumpled up, but readable. Susir's eyes went wide when he read it.
He told Susie to stay there and make sure no one was being stupid and he ran off to another guy in uniform. He came back with him. "Alright everyone, so you'll be viewing the hippos with this guy, a family emergency has arisen and I have to go! I hope you guys understand. Have fun!"
He grabbed Susie's hand and walked off to the giraffes enclosure. Susie was incredibly confused the whole way there, but she trusted Susir, because she had already figured that he is her brother. "Where are we going Susir?" "The giraffe enclosure, I have to show you something before we head out."
