The women of the village are planning to organize their Somvati Amavasya Vrat. This was first done by Mata Sati and pleased by her, Mahadev gave her a boon that any woman who'd do this fast, her husband's love for her will increase.

Devi Sita decided to do this Vrat for Shri Ram, and so she and Laxman were in the village with the rest of the ladies doing the preparations.

Aahana and Aarashi were guarding the village as this is a puja, the Asurs might come to tarnish it.

Shri Ram was alone in his hut when he heard someone running past the woods, he snapped his head and found an Asur. He grabbed his bow and quiver of arrows and ran behind him.

After chasing the Asur for a while, Shri Ram found himself in a cave. There were flowers, fruits and sweets, seemed like the preparation was done to impress a loved one.

Suddenly a figure emerged from the shadows and turned out to be Surpnakha.

"Aap yaha ?" Shri Ram asked.

"Shatru se bhag ke yaha aayi hu." Surpnakha said.

"Kaun hai aapka shatru ?" Shri Ram asked.

"Kamdev. Jo mere andar samahit hoke mujhe vyakul kar rahe hai. Keval aap hi meri sahayata kar sakte hai." Surpnakha said.

"Devi ! Iss prakar ka vyavhar aapko shobha nahi deta. Mere drishti mai aap sammanniye hai kintu aap bhatak rahi hai." Shri Ram said.

"Ram, aapki yahi baate toh mujhe atyant priye lagti hai, jab se aapko dekha hai tab se vyakul hu." Surpnakha said.

"Devi, apni mariyada ka smaran rakhe. Yeh sab anuchit hai, mera vivah ho chuka hai." Shri Ram said.

"Asatya na kahiye." Surpnakha said.

"Yeh hi satya hai. Mera Vivah, Janak-suta Sita ke saath ho chuka hai. Aur mai keval unhi se prem karta hu, dusri stree ke liye mere jeevan koi sthan nahi." Shri Ram said.

"Dusri stree ki koi jagah nahi ? Toh kaun thi woh jo kal raat aapko bulane aayi thi !? 'Shri Ram aap kushal toh hai ?' Kaun thi woh !?" Surpnakha mocked.

"Devi ! Aap ek pavitra rishte ko kalankit na kare !" Shri Ram warned.

"Aapke jeevan mai kaun hai aur kaun nahi mujhe iski koi parva nahi. Mujhe toh keval aapka prem chahiye bas." Surpnakha said.

"Maine apni patni Sita ko vachan diya tha, ki iss jeevan mai keval woh hi meri patni rahegi. Aur mai uss vachan ko nahi todunga." Shri Ram said and walked out.

"Aap aise nahi jaa sakte ! Aapko mera prem swikarna hi padega !" Surpnakha yelled from behind.

Shri Ram reached his hut and found Sita, Laxman and Aahana there.

"Aur inn pushpo se 5 mala bana ke gao mai le aana." Devi Sita said.

"Awashya Devi." Aahana smiled.

"Arrey Bhaiya aagaye." Laxman said.

"Hum aap hi ki pratiksha kar rahe the." Aahana said.

"Raghunandan kaha chale gaye the aap ?" Devi Sita asked.

"Meri chodiye yeh batayiye ki kya aapki vrat ki taiyaariya hogayi ?" He asked avoiding the question.

"Ha bas pushpo ki mala banani baki hai, tum karlogi na Aahana ?" Mata Sita asked.

"Ha, aap nishchint hoke jayiye aur kuch bhi karya ho toh Aarashi ko nisankoch hoke keh dijiyega." Aahana smiled.

This was all seen by Surpnakha from behind the tree, she was observing as to what does he see in Sita but not her, and who is Aahana to him.

"Thik hai, hum abhi chalte hai." Mata Sita said and walked out with Laxman following her behind.

"Inn dono ko apne maarg se hatana hi hoga." Surpnakha muttered as she disappeared in thin air.

Aahana looked at Shri Ram who was looked worn out.

"Kya hua Shri Ram ?" She asked.

"Thakavat si hogayi hai." He said, not wanting to worry her.

"Oh, toh vishram kar lijiye." Aahana suggested.

Shri Ram layed down on the cot and soon feel asleep, Aahana started making the flower garlands. Soon a strong wind came and blew away Shri Ram's angvastra.

On the other side, Surpnakha thought to first remove Aahana from her way. So she disguised herself as an old woman and approached Devi Sita.

"Aahana kaha hai ?" Aarashi asked.

"Woh humari kutiya mai hai, Shri Ram ke saath bas pushpo ki mala bana ke aati hi hogi." Mata Sita said.

"Kya !? Tumne usko apne pati ke saath akele chod diya !?" Surpnakha exclaimed.

"Toh isme bura kya hai ?" Devi Sita asked.

"Kumari aur par-purush, isme uchit kya hai ?" Surpnakha said.

"Mere pati waise nahi hai jaisa aap soch rahi hai." Mata Sita said.

"Awashya nahi honge, kintu uss ladki ka kya bharosa ?" Surpnakha said.

"Kya aap mere jyeshtha ke charitra par prashn utha rahi hai !?" Aarashi asked offended.

"Jo samajh lo." Surpnakha said. Mata Sita sighed.

"Mere saath chaliye." She said.

Devi Sita along with the disguised Surpnakha went to the hut. Reaching there they found Shri Ram was sleeping on the cot, his full chest exposed, while Aahana's back was facing him.

"Maine kaha tha." Surpnakha whispered.

"Devi, aap yaha ? Pushpo ke mala ban gayi hai." Aahana said standing up, Mata Sita smiled taking the basket.

"Tanik dekho Raghunandan ko, sote huye kitne Anand mai lagte hai. Inka yeh deh kitna sundar hai. Kaun aise chitvan se mohit nahi hoga ?" Mata Sita asked Aahana.

"Woh jisne yeh deh aur chitvan ka bakhan keval aapke mukh se suna ho kintu swayam ke netro se dekha naa ho." Aahana said, just the answer Mata Sita was expecting.

Mata Sita smiled and looked at the disguised Surpnakha and she gritted her teeth stomping away.

"Chalo puja ke liye der ho raha hai." Mata Sita said.
