Chapter Three

You can fail at what you don't want. So you might as well take a chance doing what you love. You might as well take a chance!

After school, I was walking home. I was happy that school was done for the rest of the day today. I came home to see Robin waiting for me patiently. Like Batman's sidekick. I smiled as he happily ran up to me.

"I'll ask if I can take you for a walk ok buddy?" I said to him smiling.

He barked happily as if saying ok. Sometimes I wonder how much he is able to understand me. I go inside and put my binder inside the house.

"Mom? Dad?" I asked calling them. I then heard footsteps and wondered who it was.

One of my parents came out and it was my father. He smiled at me happily.

"Hey sport! How was school today?"

"It was the same as usual." I chuckled.

He chuckled as well. "At least it isn't way too stressful right now."

I nod laughing softly, "That's true."

He nods smiling.

"Can I take Robin for a walk today dad?" I asked so I wouldn't forget. I sometimes forget things at times. I don't know why, I just do, and sometimes I can't help it either.

My dad thought for a little bit, "Let's ask your mom to see if she's alright with it."

I nod understanding. "Alright."

I went to go find my mom, and when I found her, I asked her if I could walk Robin.

She nodded smiling, "Of course. But don't go for too long. We'll have dinner around 7 or 8 o'clock. Alright?"

I smile back and nodded, "Alright mom. Thanks!" I say as I go and get Robin. We both head outside and go for a walk.

My name is CJ Karate. I'm fourteen, and I secretly have depression. I'm surprisingly happy today. But I'm depressed most days, though I never show it. Why you might ask? Life has hit me so hard it's almost killed me. My parents always want to help me, but I fear it's not always enough to stop this pain inside.
