Chapter Six
Make yourself a priority once in a while. It's not selfish, it's necessary.
I came home from school happy. I had up and down days. But today, today was amazing. I was able to sit by this beautiful girl in some of my classes. She was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Her eyes sparkled when she smiled. I don't know her name sadly.
I have no idea if she had the same feelings as he did about her, but, no matter what, I couldn't stop thinking of her. I loved her eyes, her smile, everything about her really. As I went inside my house, I was still thinking about her. I didn't realize that I was randomly smiling. I didn't hear my mom say my name since I was really deep in thought.
"Sweetie? Walt? Earth to Walt." She smiled seeing me happy. Though I had no idea yet.
I finally snapped out of it when she called my name, er... my nickname at least. Most people call me Walt since my name can be shortened easily.
"Huh? What?" I blinked as I went back to reality.
My mother laughed softly, "You seemed dazed out their for a bit Walt. Whatever you were thinking of, definitely made you happy which is good." She smiled. "I'm guessing your day was pretty good huh?"
I smiled a little bit, lightly blushing, though I hid it quickly and nodded, "Ya. It was great."
My mom smiled still, "What made it so great?"
I blushed lightly again, then accidentally stuttered, "Well... Er..."
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. Though you know how I love to know if you have a good day or a bad day. On your good days, I'm happy with you, on your bad days, I help you out as much as I can."
I grinned a bit, "I know."
She grinned a bit as well.
I decided to finally confess. I told her how I met this beautiful girl. I explained why I like her. My mother smiled, listening. When I was done, she spoke.
"You know, your father was the same way." Giggled a bit. "Every time he would try to talk to me he would seem nervous. I was as well sometimes, but I was glad that he was the type of man that didn't act like he didn't have emotions. I still love him to this day, even though he works a lot, we both will always love you."
I smile nodding, "I know. I love you both too." I hugged her.
I heard footsteps as my father walked in grinning. He gently, and quickly kissed mom, and she kissed back smiling.
"How are you guys doing?" He asked smiling.
"Great dad!" I said smiling more now. I was glad to see my dad home earlier than normal.
"I heard that you like this girl. Is she beautiful?"
I tried not to blush, "When did you hear that...?"
"When I came in." He smiles. "You don't need to be embarrassed about it in front of us, kiddo. We went through that just like how you are going through it now."
I nod smiling a bit. I then explained everything again to my dad about my crush. My mom didn't mind listening to my love story, as it seemed, again. They both smiled as I spoke. After I was done, my dad was the one to speak now.
"Maybe she's the one for you, Walt. Just like how your mother and I were meant for each other. When you guys start dating, hold on to her as long as you can, remember that. You never know when you could lose them. Treat her like a princess. Though you don't need to go overboard. You can treat her like a princess just by being kind to her. You can help her with hard situations she's going through. If you never let her go in those hard times. I bet she probably will help in return. Do you remember some of the rules we made when you start dating?"
I nod, "Ya. Try to go on group dates rather than going on our own. Since it might lead up to consequences that we might regret in the future. Come back home at the time you tell me to, or at least close it, as I'm able to get to it. Remember the laws of chastity, and keep certain things that are special, and don't use them until marriage. Remember the two second rule. Don't kiss, hug for more than two seconds. Especially the kissing since we may not be able to control what we do. Oh, and I can't date till I'm sixteen."
They smiled, "That's good Walt." My mother said smiling.
Yes, it sounded like a lot of rules but lots of it was rules from our religion that we believed in. My parents used them to help keep me safe. I didn't mind. I didn't want to regret anything in the future.
I am in love with my crush, and I want to be safe while dating. Why you may ask? Because of everything about her. I didn't want to her her pregnant at a young age. It will be harder if we accidentally had kids at the age 17 or so. I wanted to get married with the love of my life, and we can start our own family, raise them and help them through life.
I'm Walter Carlson, and I'm fifteen. I love my family, and I love my friends. (Not in a weird way.) I'm so glad to have the people that are in my life, in my life.
(Sorry I failed at the picture. 😅)
