Chapter Four
Thomas walked out of the cafeteria, furious. He couldn't lose his best friend. He directed to the electric box and slammed it until the door tumbled to the ground. He yanked the cables. As soon as he did, the lights went down. From afar, he could hear his cousin yell, "Thomas, what the hell?"
Red lights were blaring on and off to signal alert. "Well, I'm not letting my friend die!" yelled Jefferson over the bursting alarm.
"You're gonna get yourself killed if you don't shut down any cameras!"
"I already did, you dumbass. These wires control cameras and lights."
Suddenly, both of them heard screaming from behind. When they turned, they saw Peggy, Charles and Theo racing towards them while Angie, Eliza and Hercules were trying to pull them pack, unsuccessfully.
"It's too dangerous!"
"You're going to get yourself killed!"
"Don't do this!"
"Shut up!" Laf and Thomas both yelled in unison, causing everyone to fall silent.
"Wow, that's the first thing we've agreed on in a while," mumbled Laf under his breath.
"Guys, we can help you, but we need to come up with a plan," Thomas said.
"Woah, woah, woah. We? No. There's no we here" Laf whispered (well, he tried under the alarm).
"Do you want to see your precious friends alive again?"
"Ok, fine."
"Anyway," continued Thomas. "What can we do?"
"Honestly, there's not much time. We should rescue them first and then think of what to do next," Laf said.
"What are we gonna do when we see guards, you idiot? Disappear into the thin air? There's usually groups of 20, and all of us, including the ones we need to rescue, will only be 15!"
"Yeah, but they kill them right now, remember, stupid?"
Angelica spoke, "Um, Laf is right we might be too late."
Thomas thought, trying to think of something, but finally giving up. "Fine, let's go."
"I'm not going," said Hercules.
"Think of Alex and John, Herc!" Laf exclaimed.
Herc swallowed and agreed just to support his pleading boyfriend.

"Are we approved to commence the elimination?" The guard asked through his walkie-talkie. Alex was by John's side, who was silently crying.
"We are approved." Came a voice. Maria gulped and squirmed in her chair. The machines in front of them turned on, drills getting closer to each person's head. Suddenly, the machines went down and the lights went off. Screams filled the room and blaring red lights gave occasional view. Alexander got ready to spit out the ID from his mouth and onto the screen of one of his cuffs that were attached to the chair.
(One of the cuffs has a screen, kinda like an Apple Watch that detects IDs.)
He spit it out.
And it landed on the screen.
The screen detected the fingerprint and the cuffs opened. Alex looked to see if any guard was looking at him, but none were. After all, the room had become chaos.
He grabbed the ID and placed it on John's screen. John watched in astonishment as he broke free. Next, Alex went to Maria, who was not that far away. He put it on her screen and she stood up as soon as she was liberated. He ran for the door when she pulled him back. "Wait!"
He turned and huffed. "Huh?"
She looked at Sam, Jemmy and Aaron. "Please take them, too. I won't be able to live with myself if I leave them behind."
He was about to deny, but he stopped himself. Think of Peggy, he thought. He carefully went to each person and unlocked them. He signaled them to follow him. He put the ID on the door for it to be scanned one last time before it opened and they all ran out and slammed the door shut, while also trying no to make too much noise.
