Surviving Number 8. Part 7.

Both Ky and manager Junso were standing at the door. Hobi didn't know how to react, it seemed like his body reacted for him by not being able to move. Manager Junso pushed past Hobi into the house with Ky right behind him. Ky gave Hobi a sly smirk as he pushed past. Yoongi walked into the living room and also stood in disbelief when he saw who had entered the house.

"What the hell?" Yoongi said, "He...he can't be here!" Yoongi pointed to Ky. "He's supposed to be in jail!"

"Oh is that so?" Junso said aggressively. "Well guess what? Because of all of you, I had to go and weasel him out!"

"Weasel him out?! You didn't have to do shit! Why would you let him out?! Why would they let him out?!" Yoongi yelled.

The rest of the members overheard all the commotion and came running into the living room, stopping in their tracks when they saw their manager and Ky there.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Jin asked angrily. Jungkook and Namjoon were standing huddled together. They thought they were getting over the trauma that Ky had caused them a few days ago but seeing his face brought it right back. Yoongi noticed their nerves and stepped in front of them protectively. Jimin, Taehyung, and Hobi were also standing close together. The anxiety amongst the members was strong.

Manager Junso gestured for everyone to sit down and they immediately listened. They were too anxious not to.

"So, when the hell were any of you going to tell me about this?" Junso asked as he looked around at all of the members. None of them made eye contact with their boss. None of them wanted to say anything. They had planned to not tell him for at least a few more days.

Namjoon felt like as the leader of the band, he needed to be the one to speak up.

"We were going to..." Namjoon replied.

"When, exactly?"Junso asked.

Namjoon gulped. "I...soon..." he whispered.

"Do you know the hell I had to go through to get him out? Who the hell called the police on him?" Junso asked.

Yoongi was furious enough at this point. "I did." He crossed his arms.

"And why is that?" Junso asked. Junso knew what the story was, but he still wanted to hear the members' side to it.

"Why?! I'll tell you why! Because this asshole," Yoongi pointed to Ky, "Decided to kidnap and then beat Joonie and Kook. Joon still has his bruises if you'd like to freaking see them! Why is he here?! Why did you get him out?! Or more importantly, how?! We're the ones who pressed charges, not you!"

Manager Junso got red in the face with anger. Ky wasn't speaking. He was letting their manager deal with everything.

"I paid a lot of goddamn money to get him out. And why?! Because! I will not have this sissy of a group destroy the empire I am trying to build! So he roughed them up a little bit, so what?! Is he not the hyung here?! Listen and obey the way you're all supposed to, and this won't be a problem, now will it?"

Jin felt his own blood boiling as he couldn't hold back anymore. He had been the oldest hyung for years and never once thought of using physical punishment on anyone, no matter what. "They didn't do anything wrong! The man is crazy and abusive! He can't be here! He can't live with us or be in this group! What happens if he hurts someone again, and worse next time?! Then what?! That's not fair to us to have to deal with that!"

Junso stood up and walked over to Jin, hovering above him. "You know what's not fair? I'll tell you what's not fair. Me having to go rescue his ass because you boys can't handle discipline. I myself have always had my own view on discipline, but if Ky has other views, then let him."

"You mean like beating people with belts?! That's not discipline, it's abuse! How many times do we have to tell you that?!" Jin screamed at Junso. He turned to the others and saw that Jungkook and Namjoon had started crying.

"Look at them!" Jin screamed while gesturing to the two crying boys. "How is this band supposed to work and be successful if this is what it comes down to?"

"I'm sure you will figure it out," Junso replied as he sat back down next to Ky.

"We did figure it out, we put him in jail!" Yoongi screamed.

"And don't think about doing it again, because I paid more than enough to get him out and have the charges dropped. And I even added in a little extra so that next time you go crying to the cops, guess who isn't going to show up?" Junso said.

"W-what does that mean?" Jimin asked while trembling.

"It means the cops now know you're all just boys who cry wolf, and they won't be here to help you. Leave Ky alone. Stop playing this stupid little game of trying to get rid of him," Junso said.

The members felt the agony course through their blood. This had to be some kind of nightmare. Now if Ky was hurting someone, they couldn't even rely on 911?

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Jin screamed at Junso. "Why are you so much more concerned with protecting him than us?! We've been your group for years! You've known him what, a few months?!"

"You just have to trust that I know what I'm doing," Junso said.

"Clearly you don't," Yoongi scoffed.

Junso walked over to Yoongi. "I don't want to hear shit from you. You're the reason for this entire mess."

"Me?!" Yoongi protested. "I wasn't the one hurting my leader and my maknae with a belt!"

"And what did I just say?! Obey Ky, and it won't happen again," Junso said.

"They didn't do anything wrong and he hurt them anyway!" Jimin yelled defensively.

Junso didn't believe them. He believed that if Ky was angry and felt the need to discipline, then there was a reason for it. He screamed at them continuously about how Ky is to remain in the house, in the band, and they need to figure out their differences on their own. He reminded them that the police were out of the picture now, so they couldn't go 'cry wolf.' The members were absolutely furious, not to mention terrified. They thought they were free the moment they saw that police car take Ky away and now without warning that monster was right back in their house. Junso said he had work to do and left. Leaving the members alone with Ky once again.

Ky got up and walked over to them, they were all still frozen on the couch. He didn't say anything. Just smiled at them silently as he made his way back to his room.

Taehyung was crying and it had gotten quite loud. "What do we do? I don't want him here," he pouted.

"None of us do!" Jin said angrily. The members sat silently for a moment. Nobody knew what to do.

"If this is how it's going to be, all I can say is to leave him alone. Just leave the man alone. Don't talk to him. Don't look at him. Don't do anything. He can't get angry if we just leave him alone, can he?" Jin asked.

"I'm sure he will find a way to, but it's worth trying," Jimin agreed. The members agreed to stay out of Ky's way. None of them wanted to be around him so everyone got up and dispersed again around the house and outside.

Except for Jungkook. The maknae sat on the couch, contemplating.

Maybe...just maybe...I can fix this.

He sat there wondering what he could do to help his members. To protect his hyungs. He wanted everyone to be okay. He thought about trying to talk to Ky.

If I can just have an honest conversation with him, maybe he will listen. I know Jin hyungie told me not to do that already, but I can at least try. I want to at least know I tried.

As scared as he was, he really just wanted to help. He thought maybe sucking down his fear now and talking to Ky could stop future problems. He sucked in a big breath as he gathered himself together and made his way to Ky's room. He stood in front of Ky's door and when he went to knock he could see how badly his hand was shaking. He realized his entire body was shaking. He thought about the possibility of him getting hurt again but he weighed his chances. He figured Ky wouldn't possibly do something so bad right after getting out of jail. And as long as Jungkook listened the way he was supposed to, Ky would have no reason to hurt him.

Do this for hyungs.

He knocked.

Ky opened the door. "What do you want?"

"I um..." Jungkook wasn't sure how to even start. "I was hoping to talk to you..."

"About what?" Ky asked.

"Um..." Jungkook gulped nervously. "Us? The group, I mean."

Ky sighed and gestured for Jungkook to come in. He slammed the door closed behind them and Jungkook flinched. He stood right by the door, just incase.

"What exactly would you like to discuss? I must say, I'm surprised you're even talking to me. What happened, did your hyungs use you as some kind of bait?" Ky chuckled.

"What? No...no...I just wanted to...talk to you..." Jungkook said.

"Well then, talk."

Jungkook took another deep breath to try and calm his nerves and asked the question he desperately wanted the answer to. "Why do you hate us so much?"

Ky shrugged. "Why not?"

"I...I don't know...I guess I just wanted to know, so that we could find a way to fix it. To fix everything," Jungkook pouted. "I just want to fix things."

"What do you mean?" Ky asked.

Jungkook wasn't sure what he meant. He realized maybe he should have taken more time to figure out what exactly it was he wanted to discuss.

"Well if I knew why you hated us, we could fix it. I mean maybe we could all start getting along. You know? It would be nice if we could all get along. It would be a good thing. For the band and all," Jungkook said.

Ky walked over to Jungkook and stood closely in front of him. Jungkook felt his heart begin to race and his hands sweat. His anxiety was picking up and he started to feel dizzy. He tried to suppress his trembling to the best of his ability.

Please don't hit me again.

He stood there, hoping his big doe-eyed pout would soften Ky up a bit. Ky stared at him.

And then smacked Jungkook right across the face.

Jungkook had instant tears as he clutched his burning cheek.

"Wipe that stupid ass look off your face. That may work on the others, but not on me. Believe it or not, I don't care if you're the youngest. The little maknae. The baby of the group. I'll treat you just like anyone else. And you know what I don't like? You coming in here and bothering me. My problem? Is you all. Everyone is just so...annoying. And God knows how annoying you are. Nobody ever wants to listen to me, and yet I'm the one in charge here. It's frustrating. We will never get along."

Jungkook had nothing to say. He just wanted out of the room but he didn't know what to do. He thought that if he tried bolting out Ky would just grab him and beat him up again. He felt like if he spoke, he'd meet the same end either way. Right now the best thing he could do was keep quiet.

Jin was right. I shouldn't have done this.

Ky gave him a small shove backwards. "You're the one who wanted to talk, and now you have nothing to say? Because you know I'm right. You know how disobedient you all are and you have nothing to say for it."

"I...I..." Jungkook whispered, he gave up. "I just wanted to help hyungs." He lowered his defeated face to the floor. He could try to get through to Ky as much as he wanted, but he realized he'd never win.

"Oh, hyungs? Huh? You know who else is your hyung? You know who is your eldest hyung, at that?" Ky spat. He now had his face right up in Jungkook's. Jungkook tried his best to avoid eye contact as he kept his gaze low and let his tears hit the floor. He felt entirely trapped. He didn't like what Ky was saying. Ky wasn't his hyung.

Ky shoved Jungkook again when the maknae didn't answer. "Say it, Jungkook."

No.

"Say it!" Ky pushed Jungkook up against the bedroom door.

No.

Ky reached for his belt. "Say.It."

Jungkook started to hyperventilate and whispered something so faintly that Ky didn't hear him.

"Louder!" Ky screamed.

Jungkook mumbled again and Ky started taking his belt off. Jungkook was panicking.

"I swear to God if you don't say it!" Ky screamed as the belt came out of the loops. Jungkook didn't want to go through this again.

He looked up at Ky and screamed through his tears. "You are my hyung!"

Filled with extreme panic Jungkook immediately grabbed the door handle and hurled himself out of Ky's room and made a run for it. He ran right past Hobi and bolted outside. Hobi had tried to stop Jungkook to ask what happened but he failed. Hobi found Jin and told him something happened with the youngest, and the two went outside and found him sitting on a little rock ledge at the edge of the yard.

They made their way to their maknae who was a complete mess of tears. They both hugged him. Jin sighed.

"Do I even want to know?" Jin asked. Jungkook shook his head.

"What happened?" Hobi asked as he rubbed Jungkook's back. Jungkook hyperventilated as he explained that he was really sorry for not listening to Jin and that he'd tried talking to Ky.

"What? I told you not to do that!" Jin screamed, making Jungkook flinch again.

"I'm sorry." Jungkook cried as he bit his bottom lip to stop it from shaking.

"Did he hurt you?" Hobi asked nervously. Jungkook didn't respond. Does a slap across the face count?

"Jungkook answer hyung, did he hurt you?" Jin asked impatiently.

"Just a smack. It was nothing. I'm fine." Jungkook lied. He didn't feel fine but his hyungs seemed upset enough already.

Hobi looked at Jin with concerned eyes. Jin was angry.

"This is exactly why I told you not to talk to him! Are you trying to get yourself in trouble!? Maknae I told you days ago not to do that! It was for a reason!" Jin screamed. Hobi grabbed Jin, "Hyung please, calm down."

Jungkook couldn't reply. He was too busy crying. Having Ky angry with him was one thing, but having Jin being angry at him like this was another. Jin was never angry at him. He wasn't used to this. He sucked in some tears.

"I'm sorry, hyungie. I just...I just thought I could help. I'm sorry. I just wanted to help." Jungkook started balling his eyes out all over again and Hobi wrapped him in a hug. Jin instantly felt terrible for his small outburst. He hadn't meant to scare Jungkook or make him feel worse but he needed his maknae to get it through his head that he shouldn't go anywhere near Ky, especially not alone. He wrapped Hobi and Jungkook in a hug.

"I'm sorry for yelling, bunny, I just worry, you know. Please don't cry. I didn't mean to get angry. You know I can't stand anyone getting hurt," Jin cooed. Jungkook leaned into Jin's chest and let himself be hugged tightly. He appreciated Jin's apology. It made him feel better. The three of them curled up hugging while Jungkook calmed down.

"Just please, please don't bother him anymore, okay?" Jin begged.

"Yeah Jungkook-ah, it's best we stay as far away as possible, okay?" Hobi said.

Jungkook nodded and wiped the remainder of his tears. Hobi started planting small kisses all over Jungkook's face to try and cheer him up. Jin suggested staying outside for a bit for the nice fresh air. Once the maknae collected himself, his hyungs led him to the basketball court where some of the others had gathered for a game.

Meanwhile, Taehyung and Jimin were in Jimin's room playing card games. They didn't really care to be outside in the heat. Jimin had Flyn's bowl on the floor and even had cards in front of him, stating that "It's Flyn's turn to play. It's been a while." Taehyung thought it was cute, and the two of them would take turns pretending to be Flyn and playing his cards for him so the fish wouldn't feel left out. They were talking about a ton of random things while playing when Jimin mentioned to Taehyung that he'd tried getting into Ky's laptop.

"Why?" Taehyung asked.

"I just wanted to see what was on it," Jimin said as he lay another card down. "I thought maybe I could find out more about him. Figure out why he is the way he is, but it was locked."

Jimin's bedroom door flew open and Taehyung and Jimin stared at Ky, who was standing there huffing.

"So it was you?!" Ky screamed at Jimin. Jimin shot a panicked glance at Taehyung. Taehyung stared back. Neither of them knew what to say.

"I..." Jimin started but Ky stepped in and cut him off.

"Funny thing, Jimin. I just opened my laptop and I am locked out of it. I knew someone had to have touched it because that doesn't just happen, now does it? And I was wondering who the hell would have possibly done that? And just as I was about to go out there and confront everyone, I hear this small voice blatantly admitting it was him. Funny how that worked out, huh?" Ky spat.

"No...I didn't...I mean I..." Jimin was panicking. His heart was pumping right out of his chest. Oh no.

"It wasn't him, that's not what he was talking about!" Taehyung lied in defense. He wanted to protect his best friend.

Ky walked over and stood threateningly above Taehyung. "Don't you even dare fuckin lie to me. I know what I heard, and I know who I heard it from."

Ky started picking up Jimin's stuff and thrashing it around the room while screaming. "Why is it so damn hard for anyone in this house to not be a piece of shit?!"

Jimin and Taehyung were both shaking with fear. They didn't know what to do. Jimin especially. In no way did he ever imagine Ky would have actually caught him. Hell, Ky was supposed to still be in jail!

"You know what happens when people touch my things? Hmm? Jimin? Do you know?" Ky asked. Jimin shook his head frantically as tears spilled all over. He didn't know and he didn't want to know, but he had the strong sense that he was about to find out.

"Let me show you what happens when people put themselves in places they don't belong," Ky said. Ky stood above them and was staring at the floor. The two boys didn't understand what was going on, until Jimin realized Ky was staring at Flyn's fish bowl.

No...

Ky bent down and immediately grabbed Flyn's bowl. Jimin shot to his feet and tried ripping it out of Ky's hands. "No! Stop it! What are you doing?! Leave him alone!" Jimin screamed.

"I'm doing exactly what you deserve," Ky spat. He held Flyn's bowl high in the air as he started walking down the hall. Jimin was in a complete panic chasing Ky, screaming at him to give Flyn back. Taehyung was right next to Jimin screaming at Ky too.

Ky was headed for the bathroom.

While panicking, Jimin grabbed the back of Ky's shirt. "Stop it! Stop! What are you doing?! You're going to hurt him! Stop it!" the singer cried. His river of tears had become an ocean. If anything happened to Flyn he didn't know what he'd do. He'd had Flyn for years, and took such good care of him that the vet, which Jimin would also routinely bring him to, said that Flyn was actually living well beyond the typical lifespan of a Betta and seemed to have a lot of life left. Flyn was Jimin's child and everyone knew that.

Taehyung was reaching for Flyn's bowl too. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Put him down!" he screamed.

Ky made his way into the bathroom and Jimin was so desperate to save Flyn from whatever the hell Ky had planned that he tried jumping onto Ky's back while trying to grab the bowl. Unfortunately Ky was stronger than both of them even with one hand. He used his free hand to shove Taehyung so hard that he went flying out of the bathroom and slammed into the wall in the hallway with a loud thud as he lost his breath and dropped to the floor. He watched in terror as Ky took the bowl and smashed it on the bathroom floor. Glass shattered everywhere.

"No!" Jimin screamed. Jimin bent down and tried to pick Flyn up, who was flopping around on the floor in a desperate attempt to survive, when Ky grabbed Jimin by the throat and threw him up against the wall, choking him.

Taehyung was instantly on his feet. "Stop it!" he screamed. He tried to run to Jimin but glass was everywhere and he was barefoot. He saw Flyn flailing around and desperately tried to grab him.

Jimin punched Ky in the chest and the man stumbled backwards. Jimin also dove for Flyn but Ky was fast and shoved the two out of the way, and got to Flyn first. He picked Flyn up and dangled him in the air.

"Please!" Jimin screamed. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry for what I did! Punish me! Not him! Do whatever you want! Hit me, beat me, I don't care just please don't hurt my Flyn!" Jimin resorted to begging. He was desperate. "I will do anything you want, just please don't kill him."

Ky stood there silently while still dangling Flyn. "He needs water?" He asked. Taehyung and Jimin both frantically nodded.

So Ky dropped Flyn into the toilet and flushed it.

"No!" Jimin and Taehyung screamed in unison. They both shoved their hands into the toilet, not caring about how gross it was, they were desperate to save Flyn.

But they were too late. Flyn was gone and all that was left of him was his shattered bowl on the floor.

Taehyung's jaw dropped open in disbelief as he cried. He was in shock. Jimin turned to Ky, then ran straight at him.

He couldn't hold back, Jimin started trying to punch Ky as he sobbed uncontrollably. "You asshole! You monster! I hate you! I hate you! Murderer! What the hell is wrong with you?!! Flyn! You killed Flyn! I hate you!" he screamed over and over again. He was hyperventilating badly. Taehyung grabbed Jimin and wrapped him in a hug. He didn't want Ky hurting Jimin too. Jimin dropped his face into Taehyungs shoulder and completely wailed.

"My best friend. My best f-friend. Flyn. I want h-him back. I w-want him back. Please. I want him back," Jimin cried into Taehyung's shoulder. He started crying so hard he dropped onto the floor, not caring that he was now being poked and prodded with pointy broken glass.

"Jiminie..." Taehyung cooed as he bent down and held Jimin again. He still didn't know what to say. He couldn't believe what had just happened.

"Next time, Jimin...Don't touch my shit. And I won't have to touch yours," Ky spat. The rest of the members ran in once they realized they heard screaming all the way from outside. They ran to the bathroom where they heard Jimin completely wailing uncontrollably in Taehyung's arms. They didn't need to know what happened. They could clearly see the fish bowl shattered. They saw the little rocks and fake plants that Jimin had in the bowl crushed all over the floor .

Yoongi turned to Ky. "No...what...what have you done?" Yoongi asked angrily. His voice was shaky.

Ky walked over and hovered over Yoongi. "Exactly what I needed to do. The little shit got what he deserved." Ky slammed Yoongi against the wall as he walked by.

The members surrounded each other and immediately started cleaning up the glass, and held Jimin while offering comforting words and their condolences for losing Flyn. Jungkook suggested buying another fish but Jimin screamed at him saying he didn't want one. He just wanted Flyn back. It took a very long time for Jimin to even remotely calm down. His hyungs were able to guide him back into his room and lay him on his bed where he started sobbing hard all over again. The members didn't know what to do to try and help him.

They were extremely worried and heartbroken for Jimin. Not only for Jimin, but they were also extremely sad about Flyn. They really enjoyed his company, even if he was a fish. Jimin was hyperventilating into his pillow and the members were rubbing his back.

"Hyungie please breathe," Jungkook begged. "You're going to make yourself sick." The members realized the best person to help Jimin calm down during difficult times like this was Hobi. Yoongi figured if Hobi curled up with Jimin and they rested together, eventually things would settle down.

"Um...guys?" Yoongi started, his eyes darting between the members. "Where did Hobi go?"

Everyone realized that Hobi was now missing.
