When you do something you will doubt yourself, is it the right decision? Will it keep you alive? Would it have saved those people? All those questions will run through your brain, but sometimes you have to ignore those questions and take the risk that comes with it.

I opened my eyes to see the sun still in the sky, I didn't have a watch with me so I have no idea what time it could be, I looked around and saw that everyone in my tent was gone, I got out and stretched, I scratched my knotted hair and flipped it so it would settle the bed head.

I walked past a few more tents then saw everyone around a new fire, I walked up and sat beside Jake and he handed me a plate of beans.

"You told Daryl about RODV?" He whispered in my ear

"These people have been through enough, I shouldn't keep a safe place from them like this and you know it Jake, they might not even find out about the you know what." I whispered back, he nodded but looked scared and angry, he just wants to protect me, and I love him for it.

I heard someone clear their throat, I looked and saw Rick making his way up to me.

"We wanted to give you some space this afternoon, but, we have to know what is this safe place?" He sat down next to me and I saw everyone looking at me.

I cleared my throat. "The RODV is short for, Research of Deadly Viruses, they have doctors, scientist, and military personal there, I heard over a car radio that, that is the place to go for safety, but if you were bit you would be experimented on to see if you could be used as an antidote, it's located in Florida about 6 maybe 7 hours to get there, we stayed where we were because one I was looking for our sister, two we thought someone would come help us, three it was risky." I finished my explanation and everyone sat quietly, thinking.

Then everyone started talking at once, I whistled so everyone would stop.

"One at a time." Jake said impatiently

"I say its to risky." Carol said

"I say its the best chance we have." Glenn said

"Everyone has mixed opinions on it, I say we vote." Rick said while putting his arm around Lori and a hand on Carl's shoulder.

"There are 16 people here it would be an even vote." I told them

"Make that 17." I deep voice said behind us, I turned and saw a tan man, with black hair and almost life less eyes behind us, he walked up to the fire and took some water.

"Hey Shane this is Rae, her brother Jake and her crew." Rick said with a smile

"How ya doin? I heard what y'all were talking about, I agree with Rick let's vote on it." He said sitting down next to Andrea.

"Alright everyone who wants to go raise your hands and the kids votes count as well." I told them, John, me, Daryl, Rick, Glenn, Carl, Chelsea, and Shane raised their hands.

"All who want to come up with a different plan or stay here raise your hands." Lily, Zoey, Louis, Carol, Sophia, Dale, Andrea and Lori raised their hands.

"Eight on Eight, who didn't vote?" Rick asked, I looked over at Jake who had his head in his hands, I put my hand on his back, he looked at me with a worried look in his eyes.

"Jake whatever you vote, I'll back you up 100%." I smiled at him and he took a deep breath.

"Let's go to RODV." He said and took my hand squeezing it.

"Maybe the people who voted to stay should stay...." Carol said

"You just said last night you wanted to not stay here Carol, sometimes we have to take risks to get somewhere safe, now we voted we are going, if you want to be stupid and stay here without any to protect you or that little girl of yours then go ahead, Rae is our best shot, we need to back her up on this." Daryl said, I smiled at him, he is really sweet.

"Can I change my vote?" Carol said slowly looking at me I nodded.

This time everyone raised their hands to go, please dad, please let me be making the right choice.
