Sometimes you need to hide it, don't let it show, I can't tell these people what I am, but why me? Why can I survive?

We all had a meeting together after the bodies were burned, all of us were exhausted, I sat between Daryl and Jake, Jake was holding Zoey while I held Louis both were sound asleep.

"We can't stay here, this isn't surviving at all." Andrea said, it was the first time she has talked since we had to get rid of Amy.

"But where would we go? The city is a mess! And who knows when more walkers will come?!" Carol said holding on to her sleeping Sophia.

"Everyone just calm down..." Rick said but then Andrea jumped in.

"Where were you when this happened? Huh? Saving people we don't even KNOW! My sister's blood is on your hands Rick!"

"Hey!" I yelled, but quickly quieting my voice so I don't wake up Louis, I passed him to Lily who was sitting on the ground in front of Jake.

"We do not kill the living we do not blame other people for others' deaths unless they pulled the trigger, I haven't been with y'all very long but this is not how you treat people, if we do that, we are no better than the walkers." I looked at all of them, Daryl had a slight smirk, Andrea put her head down, and the others just stared at me.

"If we want to live, we stick together, now I don't think any of us are in our right minds because I know I'm not and like all of you we lost someone today, lets take that time to mourn and rest, just...be like people." I finished and took a deep breath and released it.

"I think that's a great idea." Daryl said I smiled at him, everyone else nodded and walked to a bunch of tents, leaving whats rest of my crew, Lily, Zoey, Louis, Jake, John and Chelsea, Daryl, Rick and Dale stayed behind.

"That was some speech sunshine." Daryl said with a smirk, I blushed under the nickname he just said, sunshine, I haven't been called that in a long long time.

"Thanks but...maybe we should go." I said slowly.

"No, you ain't leavin, we got a few extra tents and the camper, we got room." Daryl said once again.

"I.."

"Your staying, we need people like you." Dale said as he walked off to the camper.

"Thank you by the way Rae, you could have ran, but you didn't, thank you." Rick said walking over shaking my hand, I smiled at him.

"It was nothing, let's get some rest crew." I told them, I stood up but Daryl put a hand on my bitten shoulder, thank goodness I was still wearing the jacket, I sucked in my breath.

"Hey you alright?" He said as I turned to face him.

"Yeah just.....been a long day, a very long day."

"You can say that again, man, wish we knew of a place to stay." He looked down at me but his mind was somewhere else, I can't let these people suffer because I'm afraid of being caught and experimented on.

"There is one place..."

"Where?"

"The ROVD, I know where their stationed."

"Why..why didn't you go there?"

"I....I don't know." I lied, I hate lying to people, but really it wasn't a lie, why didn't I just give myself up? I could have saved millions of people, "This is all my fault." I said quietly looking at the ground, Daryl put his thumb and finger under my chin lifting my head to meet his gaze.

"No it isn't, it was you decision, besides we owed you some favors." I smiled and blushed as he rubbed his finger under my chin.

"I think we should tell the others about.." I started but then he put his thumb on my lips.

"Shh, get some rest first, been a long long day." I nodded as he turned and held out his arm, I put my hand on the crock of his elbow as he walked me to a tent, where my brother, sister, nephew, and niece, were past out sleeping.

"Good ni.....morning Daryl." I said while stepping into the tent.

He hesitated for a moment but nodded, "Sleep well Rae."

I laid there for who knows how long but couldn't stop my heart from beating faster and faster.

What will happen if I was falling in love? What would happen when we got to RODV? Would my family and I survive? With all these questions in my mind, I fell asleep.
