all the I-landers stood in front of the mentors in the hall. Namjoon stood in front of them to announce the game. 

Namjoon cleared his thought then waited a few seconds the Ilanders stood in dead silence. 

"Good morning Ilanders! Now that Ryu is recovered from her injuries the time won is over. today is your first challenge of the games!" 

Ryu scoffed knowing this was no game. Jake had shown her the bodies of the ones who failed. Jake saw her and frowned shaking his head at the latter as a warning to watch it.  

"Your first challenge will be in the lake! Your mentor will come but only as a guild. There is a tunnel at the bottom of the lake. Find it and you pass your first game. Your task shouldn't be taken as small and simple there is things behind it you have been warned." 

With that all ilanders dispersed to find their mentors. Jake pulled Ryu aside making sure no one was able to see them he kisses her deeply. They broke the kiss making Ryu look down shyly. "Ok now let's get our gear babe then we can wait for the others."

The girl nodded following Jake. She took a few knives and a sword as well as a bow and a quiver full of arrows. Jake took a gun and some knives. "You ready?" He asked her. She nodded, both then left. They waited for the others so they could head to the lake. 

All the ilanders and their mentors were now going through the forest to the lake. The forest area they were going through was thick with vines and Debrae. They had all been walking for awhile they came to the lake. The ground suddenly rumbled the Ilanders stood alert waiting to see what it was when a giant snake with multiple heads appeared streaking loudly. Jake gently brushed his hand against Ryu's as he grabbed his gun she had her bow in hand. "It's the Hydra!" Beomgyu shouted he had a crossbow in hand. 

Ryu shot three arrows at the multiple headed sneak making it shreak in pain. She then ran from the group to lure the Hydra from the group. One of the heads spat acid at her making her wince when it hit her  arm burning her. Jake gasped wanting to run towards her but Sunghoon stopped him by grabbing his hand and shaking his head. Ryu shot one of the heads making it colapse the  Hydra kept going dragging the head angry at the attack. Jake gasped seeing her loop with the snakes. She killed the head without cutting it off so it didn't make a new one. The ilanders then split into groups to destract the heads while others shot at the heads. The Hydra chased them all spitting acid at them despite the heads that had been shot. The acid hit Kun and Eunji making them scream in pain. By the time the hydra was defeated Kun and Eunji died from the acid and Ryu's arm was badly burned. Jake poured water on her arm washing it off for her. "Thanks Jake.." She said softly. He nodded at her smiling. 

"Well that was shocking.. most we thought you would get past it not kill it! Well done Ryu for fast thinking! Each of your mentors has a potion you will take so you can breath in the water for your challenge. For this one it's not a snake with several heads but mermaids. You need to get past them in order to reach the tunnel."    

The mentors gave their Ilanders the potion they had for- all but Jin and Jennie as Hwan and Eunji had died from the Hydra. "Your lucky you survived the Hydra Ryu!" Jake hissed at her angerly. The girl only smirked. "Don't worry I know you were scared you were going to lose me." 

They all were swimming down into the lake having all of them taken the potion. They were deep in the water when they heard a scream. All the Ilanders froze then a trident flew past them hitting Joowon's arm making him yelp. Another Ilander came over and helped him with his arm then they saw the creature who threw it. A mermaid. She stood in front of them with three other mermaids. "What is your reason for coming here humans are not allowed." She said in a deep loud voice. 

Ryu came forward and bowed. "My name is Kim Ryu we are just passing through if you would allow us that would be very kind of you we meant no harm." She was calm using a soft yet gentle tone. 

"To pass you must pay a fee or you will all die." The mermaid told them.

Ryu hugged Jake quickly before going over to the mermaid. "I will stay as a toll just leave the other's.

Jake gasped hearing her words. "Ryu no!"
