Jackie and Eddie had spent a good while getting to know one another. He bragged about being able to play guitar and Jackie could do fairly well with singing. He offered her a chance to be in his band, but considering he was still a stranger and she didn't know his friends, it would be too sudden. At some point, maybe.
She was now setting up her bedroom, pinning pictures and posters up on her wall as Van Halen played on her record player. She was excited for their album to release next year, but her patience would be wearing thin until then.
With school starting tomorrow, Jackie had also discovered that her new neighbor, Nancy Wheeler, would be showing her around and help her get to classes. She would have preferred Eddie now that she had become a 'friend' of his, but he claimed he didn't have the best reputation at Hawkins High School.
The last hour or so, she had then spent running up and down the stairs, snagging small snacks to hide in her dresser so she wouldn't have to leave her bedroom. Along with that, spending a long time trying to cram her futon into the small door leading to her secret room. She already had plans in using it to have small parties to herself, and hid her bong in the corner. Maybe she would figure out how to make the tiny window in there open, if it even did.

Jackie took her time getting ready. She wanted to stay home for the day and continue working on her little hideout, but knew her mom would beat her to shit if she was even late on her first day to school.
Thankfully, her mom had chosen a stay-at home job, which meant she got to drive herself to school in her car.
"I'm leaving mom." Jackie said as she poked her head around the corner. Her mother turned to her with a soft smile, waving goodbye.
"Drive safe. Don't hit any kids." She joked, to which Jackie gave her a half-hearted smile and winked. Grabbing the keys, Jackie ran to the garage with a grin.
1967 was a great year for cars. Muscle cars were at their best year, in Jackie's eyes. Although her dream car was the '56 Bel-Air, you can never go wrong with the Impala.
Jackie tossed her bag into the passenger seat of her moms Impala and revved the car up, turning the radio up before backing out, driving off to her new school.

Jackie parked as close as she could to Hawkins High School, looking around at everyone as they all joined up with their friends, walking inside. She sat in her car awkwardly for a few moments before yelling when Eddie knocked on the window.
"I like the car!" He grinned as she stepped out of the Impala. "Is it yours?"
"My moms. She works at home so it's mainly going to be driven by me."
"Cool. You wanna head inside?" He gestured to the school with his head, and Jackie sighed.
"Actually, I have to look for my neighbor, Nancy. She's supposed to be showing me around today." Eddie frowned in thought for a moment.
"Wheeler? She's probably somewhere with her boyfriend. Or in the library. Or with Barbra. I'd guess she's with Steve." Jackie nodded as the two started heading inside, looking around for Nancy.
Jackie spotted Nancy talking with a taller boy, the two smiling at one another as he messed with her hair. "Yep. Steve and Nancy." Eddie gestured to them before looking to Jackie. "I'll see you at lunch if we don't have any morning classes."
"I'll see you then. Bye, Eddie." Eddie ventured off further into the hall, Jackie sucking in a deep breath before walking up to Nancy and her boyfriend.
"Hey, Nancy. Uh— Jackie." Nancy looked at Jackie before smiling softly.
"Hey. Oh, this is my boyfriend, Steve." Steve looked at Jackie for a moment before nodding a hello. Jackie returned the gesture. "Do you have your schedule?"
"Uh..." The girl rummaged through her backpack, pulling out a partially crumbled paper. "Sorry... I was in a rush."
"Oh, no worries. Looks like you share first hour with Steve. We should probably head there now." Nancy looked to Steve and the three started to walk from the lockers. "Do you know where your locker is?"
Jackie shook her head. "I probably won't be using it a lot. My backpack can hold some weight." Nancy nodded in understanding, and shrugged.
"Yeah. I don't use mine often. Mainly to hold my biology and history books." Nancy spoke quietly, almost tk the point Jackie couldn't hear her as she flipled through a notebook, scribbling Jackie's schedule into a blank page. "You majnlh have extracurricular classes." Jackie raised a brow in confusion, looking at Nancy. "The unimportant classes. But they help wuth credits. Other than that, we don't share any classes other than first hour since you're a junior."
"Well. If those classes aren't important, then you won't be seeing much of me." Jackie joked, Nancy giving her a odd look. "I didn't have the best attendance back in Nevada."
"Woah, you lived in Nevada? Where?" Steve finally spoke up, looking at Jackie with a small interest.
"Virginia City. Really small town. I basically knew everyone there." Steve's interest dropped a small bit. "I spent a lot of my time in Vegas with my dad. He owns a casino."
"Is he like, a mob boss? Because that would be really—" Nancy nudged her boyfriend, who frowned at her as Jackie laughed.
"He joked about it a lot. But no. He just owned a casino." Steve nodded as they all walked up the stairs, rounding a corner to their first class.
"Alright. Here's first hour English. It's pretty boring, but Miss Hallow is nice." Nancy smiled as Jackie looked inside.
"Right. She's nice to you because you're not in her class." Steve commented as Jackie held back a small smile. Nancy rolled her eyes as the bell rang.
"Well, I guess I'll see you after class, Jackie." Nancy waved goodbye as Steve kissed the top of her head, the two juniors walking in.
"You must be Miss Kepler. I'm Miss Hallow. There's an open seat way in the back for you to take." Jackie turned to the very far corner of the room, shrugging as she started to walk down the aisle. Multiple students started to huddle into the classroom as Jackie sat down.
Two students sat next to and in front of Jackie. Steve was all the way up front, rummaging through his bag.
"Hey, get out."
"This is my se—"
"Not anymore. Take my spot." Jackie looked over to see the student that was sitting next to her get up and scurry off, Steve sitting down next to her. "So you aren't lonely."
"'My hero." She joked, Steve mocking her for a moment. "So. Nancy is a sophomore? Freshman?"
"Sophomore. We've only been going out for a few months." Jackie nodded slowly as she took a pen out of her bag. "What about you? You got a guy back in Nevada or something?"
"Nope." She answered, shrugging. "I was the loner of Virginia City."
"Well, that's going to be changing. You got me and Nance now. And my other friends. But mainly me and Nance." Jackie gave Steve a forced smile as the bell rang again, signaling class was starting. "So. What made you're family move to Hawkins?"
"My mom lived here when she was younger but moved to Nevada before going to high school. Guess she wanted to see how much had changed." Jackie said, leaving out the main reason as it did include family drama. Steve nodded, chuckling softly.
"Well, it's a pretty quiet town. Nothing ever happens here. Like, ever."
