4.| Now i'm falling for ya

If there is anything I could definitely say about my brother is he knew how to sing. I never thought much of where the talent came from, I could pick up a mic just as easily when it came to karaoke nights. But I wasn't as talented. I follow closely behind Mack, practically on her heels, stopping the door from face planting me.

" Do you remember that movie about a robot who drank liquid, from an abandoned space ship, turned into a vampire middle-school teacher who taught the entire school to salsa dance and then went in to win the regional championships?" I don't recollect a movie with such an obscene, ludicrous, plot. 'Our movie tastes are vastly different. Mack.'

" Yeah?" Brady replies not entirely sure where mack is going with this.

" that made more sense than this!" She throws her hands around, indicating her frustration of being here.

" Mackie. This isn't all bad!" I assure, though that was directly indicative of my own personal excitement to being sent in a movie where my the on-screen love of my life is.

Her eyes soften, staring at me for one split second, then she switches on her panic button.

" I have an idea. Hand me my cell!" totally use a phone. Which has not been invented. Even I knew dial up phones were at most the single source of communication the sixties had to offer. " What year was this movie made?" Mack states, thinking logically.

" around nineteen sixty. And?" I see it hasn't registered with my brother what decade we are currently trapped in. " B, we are the sixties! Electronic mobiles were not invented until two thousand and six. How do you think a cell is going to work?" I finally explained, hoping he'll understand how using a phone which had not been thought of yet in this century would help. " Mor is right!" Mack agrees, racking her hands through her hair.

" I didn't think of that. Maybe I will just call our folks... who weren't even born. Oh no." Brady realises, with a pouting frown. Now just understanding. " Brady, my entire future depends on us getting out of here, like, now." Mack takes brady by his shoulders giving him a slight shake. She still wants to leave? I suppose I can't stop her choice and wishes. She did made a promise to her deceased mom, what I learned. Both don't take notice to my face falling from her words.

" Except, maybe it'd be fun to hang for a bit. Plus Morgan would be ecstatic knowing we will have you for longer. " He tries reasoning, that doesn't help her anxieties. I came to a sudden awareness there is no seagulls, nothing but a deafening sound of  silence.

" Except, no, it wouldn't. Because I have to catch a plane in two hours! Well two hours and fifty years. I'm sorry Mor, I don't mean anything of it to sound harsh. I would love for nothing to change this all, but I made a promise. As you know. I wish I could somehow convince aunt Antionette, but she is so stubborn. I hate how I made you upset."

Mack is verging on having a break down, the acceptable answer I could find was hugging her. I didn't want her to feel guilty. 'I don't care. if it's needs to be I can fly there and back.'

She puts a hand over my arm. I hear her exhale. " Fine. Maybe we need to figure out how we got here in order to know how to leave." That should be easy, at the end of the movie there is a massive storm Les camembert does for his 'diabolical' plan.

" so we came in on the storm, right? That definitely had to do with us being here." Mack starts freaking out, looking between Brady and I.

" So. We have to wait for a storm? To get out of here?!" I really thought for a second she would be calm but nope. It heightens.

" But!" I interrupt inserting my own assurance. " this is where we are in our luck! Mack. You see! There is a storm that is so severe we can use it and find our way back home. In time for your flight!" Finishing off with a smile, easing McKenzie, I take her hands. " everything will just fine. Mackie."

" Okay. Okay. What are we gonna do in the meantime?" Right after mack says it Rascal, SeaCat, tanner and giggles came boisterously cheering doing a in-sync hand shake shouting 'Yeah'.

Before a loud, comical, boink's heard bumping heads laughing. SeaCat notices us staring, giggles gasps enthusiastically running down the steps.

" Hey. We're having a shredder shindig tonight here at big Momma's. You should both make the scene." He states, the whole fiasco before being deleted out of all the surfers minds.

Giggles does a hyper-emphasised grunt, stomping her foot. " Dang it. You beat me to it, SeaCat. That was totally not what I was going to ask." I wanted so badly to laugh at her face and her 'glare'.

" Sounds blastin'! Yeah. We will be there." Brady responds, matching the surfers energies. I speak up. " But! But! I don't have anything I can wear. Or a pretty dress." Giggles, face lightning up as though a mental light bulb turned on, takes my hand.

" don't worry! Come to my place. I will have you looking like the coolest babe there." I couldn't even argue or disagree before she begins dragging me down the beach and SeaCat exclaims out words of thrill. Just like that there is a scene change, I'm shocked at fast the whole mood changes. 'Movie magic.'

My eyes take in what I am now wearing, a swing dress. Red intricate dahlia flowers are designed and decorated on invisible vines, the bodice is tight enough I could breath in and out easy with no problem.

The atmosphere in Big Momma's is definitely vibrant. 'Mommas boys' are made to sound as if there is actual singing but just randomised words. Repeating. " One orange soda and a cheese burger for you, Baby. You are looking radiant in that get up. You will have all the surfers wanting to have your hand in a dance tonight." Big Momma comments, giving my plate of food, shockingly the food is real. Hot, ready for eating.

" Thank you, Momma." I say appreciating her kindness to me.

SeaCat, giggles, Rascal and tanner all file to where I sit. " This shindig is Crazy, you dig what I'm sayin. Mor-Mor. you good? Your burger is hot, you don't want it to go cold! That will be gross to eat." Rascal exclaims, taking one fry.

Tanner rolls his eyes dramatically.

" Rascal! Morgan has to eat. Don't take all of her food." He argues snatching the half-eaten deep fried cut potato out of his hand.

Giggles lifts up her chair, leaving limited space the mind could imagine, hugging my arm squealing. " I can't believe I made a new friend in you, Morgan. I'm so happy." Her sand-yellow blonde hair covers half of my shoulder.

" This part of the song is my favourite! Dance with me, Mor-Mor. SeaCat! Join Morgan and I." I am taken out of my comfort, being the chair, to being surrounded by surfers alike dancing nonspecifically and no rhythmic direction. Giggles hips began twisting fast, matching the speed of a tornado.

" Hey, giggles. Those hips are so seismic!" Mentions SeaCat moving his hands to speed of her hips. I laugh, when he spins then wriggles my arms trying to have me move faster, then focuses back on giggles.

" It ain't moving them that's the problem, SeaCat. It's getting 'em to stop!" Selective amount of surfers made sure they smile, then do I take notice of those being on tables. 'That cannot be hygienic.' I think.

I made an error of judgment, bringing my eyes to look at the entrance of big Mommas, just in time to see Butchy. A leap of my heart rate made my face become super red. It started to get very hot, I feel my heated cheeks. Luckily enough there was no surfer looking at me. He does his typical vest tug, glasses hanging on his shirt. Fortunately enough Butchy has not seen I was in the diner, which I thank whatever power sent me here because I knew there was going to be an awkward moment.

I hid behind one menu, finding every item interesting. 'Damn him and his voice.' " We's not gonna let a bunch of water-logged wash outs spoil our very fine evening." I bite down on my lip. 'Why am I acting like this.'

" Uh! Big Momma's is like a second home to me, if I had a first one." Chee Chee says, her ditzy voice coming from in front of me. At least she is 'self-aware'. That is kinda sad.

" I popped my first wheelie in here." LugNut mentions, I peaked over the menu to find them going to a booth. 'Okay. They are far enough away. Coast is clear.'

I use the dancing surfers as to blend in, I'm already dressed for the part. But for the darnest reason I shift my eyes, again, on Butchy. How he sat having his arm spread opened, lazily, cool. Relaxing made each muscle flex. That is a mistake not minding my step. Lela's voice, behind a startled gasp.

" Oh! Hooton berries! I am so sorry. Silly Lela!" she scolds herself slouching her shoulders down, to the broken pieces of glass at the sodas dropping. I cover my mouth, stopping her before she could touch anything dangerous and sharp. " Don't. This is all my fault, I should looked before walking." I was staring at your handsome brother I wanted to add, but how weird would that have made me. " No! That was all me. I have two left feet and can be a klutz. Even my brother can say such as well!"

Lela kindly brushes off my apology.

" Let me order you the two drinks I made you drop! It's the least I can give you." She broadens her lips to a very big happy smile.

" Ok, sure!" Just as quick as I left, I return holding one lemon and strawberry soda. My dress swinging.

" Come with me. meet my brother! He is kind but doesn't take well to surfers. you don't look like any surfer I've ever seen. A biker? No that can't be it. But you dress like one! Oh sorry I am very chatty I know. I can never shut up. I'm Lela! As I already said." I was honestly certain Brady would be jealous right now, He has a crush on her. 'Smokin' is the word described.

" My name's Morgan. I don't think you are chatting too much." She beams, eyes lighted up. Reaching the table all efforts of breathing stop as I am now in front of Chee Chee, struts, lugNut and Butchy. " Sodas for everyone. Hey! You guys this is Morgan! a new friend I made. Say hi. Be nice."

Struts pops her gum examining me and my structure. " I saw your face before. I like your dress, Toots." She stuck her worse for wear bubblegum to her tooth, showing off a grin.

" Say. You is a biker? Cause I have a bike I would like to take you for a ride on, babys'." LugNut takes one of his arms then goes to pull me in, on his lap, but I slap his face full of arrogance. The girls all collectively gasp.

" That is no way to talk to a lady. Learn you some manners before you speak. No woman likes to be objectified. You understand?" He flings up two hands surrendering, nodding his head fast. " That outta teach youse respect for girls, huh. You putz." Butchy leant forward flicking his side-kicks nose. Chee Chee does her nasally giggle.

" I like your fire, Honey. Come sit! Move your lard butt, Pea brain. I have a spot right next to me here." She shoves LugNut out of his spot, paving a way for me to sit. I see Butchy had his eyes on me the entire time. I flat out the puffs of my dress, getting comfortable.

" Say sis. Those soifers weren't giving you trouble, and bothering you, were they?" He queries Lela. 'Wow. He really dislikes the Surfers.' She spoke, nicely.

" No, of course not. You know, they're not so bad." It's the truth. I find the whole Surf and biker thing real ridiculous. " All surfers is bad." Chee and Struts both reply, LugNut had his arm behind my head. Lela had shifted her eyes down. " Now except the one that are very bad." He looks around to all of the dancing surfers.

" those ones are the worst!" Butchy made a point to jab a finger, on the green surface of our table. He then laughs obnoxiously and very loud, which made each of the four bikers follow his lead. I manage to bring out a fake, forced laugh, Butchy snaps his eyes to meet mine. Both brighten. He clicks his fingers; an order to stop the laughing. I die down mine staring at him, not breaking the eye contact. Chee Chee begins her laugh, but it's shortly shut down five seconds after. She looks toward where I sat a few inches down from her.

" Oh, it's almost time: let's go! Let's go!"

'Oh! It's already Lela's part of the movie to sing.' Lela brings Struts by the hand out of the booth, then beacons me to follow her as well. There she brings me on stage, I stare at her shaking my head wildly. Back up singers wring their fingers waving to me. Brady and Mack are on the dance floor, my brother staring bewildered of me being on stage.

" Lela. No, I can't.. s-sing. I'm not that great." She had my hand still held, giving tightest of squeezes. " Follow my lead. Morgan! Trust me." Fallin for you was just beginning, the buzzes of each saxophone hums blaring in my ears.

The day started ordinary boys walking by. Struts and the back track ladies harmonise, each second of which the chorus plays. It was the same old story too fresh or too shy. Mack is circled by biker girls, holding up all their hands, before breaking away to continue dancing. Lela drags then places me right where the microphone is.

Automatically I begin singing. I'm not the kind to fall for a guy who flashes a smile. The back up girls sang it goes on for miles. Now Lela takes the spotlight. Don't usually swoon but I'm over the moon.

I watch Brady be guided away from Mack, a surfing girl made sure to push him by his chest. While mack has herself a little dance with a surfer guy. She was not at the least in bit of amused. 'Cause he was just too cool for school. And now I'm falling for ya. Falling for ya. Can't hold on any longer and now I'm falling for ya. I had successfully exit off the platform, make-shift stage. Lela continues to sing her heart away. Feels like I tumbled from another world, into your arms, it's so secure. Maybe I'll stumble, but I know for sure head over heels I'm gonna be your girl. SeaCat is dancing, tango-ing, with a confused Mack as she spins. She looked super out of place here.

Then and there, I didn't sense an oncoming LugNut as he moved in convoluted moves to a point I'm knocked over by his feet. Just as I'm surely about to fall to the floor, embarrassing myself in front of everyone, I feel two pairs of arms catch me. 'It's Butchy' he had me off my feet. Sweeping me up in his strong, gentle hold. 'Dramatic. But there are no complaints here.' Butchy never made a move to let me go. His stare is extremely intense making my heart race straight of my rib cage.

Lela's chorus made it for romantic then it seems.

And now I'm falling for ya. Falling for ya. I know I shouldn't but I just can't stop from falling for ya. Falling for ya.

" I see yous' has fallen for I. Morgan." He jokes, but there is zero humour in how he gazes in my eyes. Intently, eager. Finally I feel my feet touch the floor. Butchy has his hand placed tight, just grazing above where my waist is. Flushing my body, pressing our chests together. Can't hold on any longer and now I'm falling for you. Oh no. This can't be happening, not right now. My own body is betraying how I should be reacting. I am reluctant to breathe in, not positive how I would look. He does a crooked grin. 'Damn him.' I am royally screwed right now.

" You were there to catch me. My biker boy."

JASMINE SPEAKS:

Butchy caught Morgan! Ahh I love this part of the movie so much. Because of the song AND Lela, tanner and Mack with Brady being in this scene I find it so cute in a way. Especially how Brady is there to catch her. How did you find the chapter? Leave what you thought below.
