"It started with my mom... She fell ill one day..."

Virgil hummed, acknowledging (M/n)'s story.

"My mom ended up catching an unknown disease. Which meant there was no treatment to save her..."

Virgil's eyes narrowed but continued stroking the luscious locks belonging to (M/n).

"She ended up dying a few days later..."

(M/n) breathed out a shaky sigh.

"We all grieved... In our own ways..."

(M/n) hugged Virgil tighter.

"My brother, turned to self harm..."

Virgil's eyes widened and he unconsciously gripped (M/n)'s hair tighter.

"My sister, starved herself..."

Virgil gritted his teeth, and clutched tighter, but never causing pain by pulling or tearing.

"My brother, played video games..."

(M/n) sadly smiled. He released his arms around Virgil's waist and clutched tight, holding onto the back Virgil's shirt as he began to sob into Virgil's shoulder.

"Me? Well I, listened to music..."

(M/n) quietly said his last sentence. Body shaking, Virgil managed to loosen his grip from (h/c) strands and instead massage his shoulder, while the other massages the back of his neck.

"But..."

Virgil's eyes widened. 'He wasn't done?'

"The shit show didn't really start until our father began to drink and spiral down an inescapable hole of alcohol and cigarettes."

Virgil softly caressed (M/n)'s back, drawing shapes across his shirt.

"If you don't want to continue, it's alright... You've told me enough and if you aren't comfortable..."

(M/n) petted Virgil's hair like stroking a cat's fur. Virgil stopped his movements and sighed, hugging (M/n) by his neck again.

"It's alright... It's just... Jason died by using his body as a shield to save our sister when our father got into a car wreck while drunk driving..."

(M/n)'s dull eyes focused on the ground as Virgil began to twist and twirl his fingers in (M/n)'s hair.

"When I came out gay, our father was the only one who didn't accept. He threw a beer bottle at me and I dodged. He became furious and pulled out his hand gun. Annabelle died, smiling, in my arms when she took the bullet to her chest to save me..."

(M/n)'s body began to shake and he bit his lip in a successful way to silence himself.

"I knew... I knew Jordan couldn't handle all their deaths."

(M/n) began to sob softly.

"I found him... He had hung himself..."

Virgil eye's widened and he stopped his movements, pushing (M/n) back to look at him.

"The scars on his arms..."

(M/n) grabbed Virgil's wrist and trailed up his arm, softly tracing his cuts.

Virgil gasped but let him continue, tears pricking his own eyes as he stared at his broken friend.

"There was a note in his hand that said, "Relief..." and with his dull eyes opened, a soft smile left on his smooth lips, and feeling his cold body as I took him down. I knew. I was too late. He was already gone."

A sob got caught in (M/n)'s throat. Virgil cupped his cheeks, staring into a heavy pink, shimmering (e/c) orbs. Virgil and (M/n) smiled at each other, pressing their foreheads together.

They accepted each other. Broken. But not lost.

"Please. Don't leave me too..."

Virgil closed his eyes and brought (M/n)'s fingertips towards his lips, before softly kissing them as if he was a prince meeting a princess.

"I won't ever leave you."

(M/n) plopped his back on the bed, bringing Virgil with him. As they snuggled closer together, holding each other's hand, both boys made a promise.

"Forever."

With intertwined pinkies, a vowed pinky promise.

But before they could drift off a quiet but surely noticeable, 'Ding Dong,' was heard.

Both boy's eyes flashed open as they stared at each other with the same thought.

'Who is at the door?'
