They enter the Hall of Justice, heading to the interrogation room. Rai follows after Megan to see the Krolotean getting interrogated by Martian Manhunter. Vanessa, Conner, and Beast Boy wait outside, not wanting to crowd into the little viewing room. Batman is waiting inside, watching the psychic interrogation go down through the viewing window.

'You didn't have to come along,' Megan telepathically huffs at Rai.

'I believe I did,' Rai retorts, crossing his arms over his chest.

"This is the Krolotean captured by Lagoon Boy, Robin, and Beetle?" Megan asks Batman.

"Your uncle has been interrogating him for days, but simply achieving psychic translation has proven difficult. In the meantime, the League and the team have hunted the Kroloteans that had been masquerading as humans. But all have escaped capture despite the fact that we destroyed their zeta platforms here and on Rann and that they apparently destroyed their own ship," Batman says.

"There's another player..." Rai whispers out what he's thinking.

Megan's eyes glow green, and the Krolotean turns toward her direction. Suddenly the Krolotean shrieks, and his mouth foams up. Martian Manhunter turns to Megan too. Rai snarls, noticing the comatose state of the Krolotean and turning to Megan in anger.

"After your success on Rann, Captain Adam thought you might be of some assistan–"

Megan cuts him off with a grin. "The Kroloteans have an emergency rendezvous point and have standing orders in case of discovery to evacuate there. A base inside a volcano on Malina Island."

Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman, Robin, Aquaman, and Lagoon Boy load up on the Bioship and enter the base first.

Superman carries Superboy. Everyone else flies. They wait until they're called in.

"Nightwing to delta squad. Enemy is attempting escape. Request backup."

"All right!" Spook shouts, barreling through the rock into the base along with her brother.

Superman blasts a hole through the side with his heat vision, taking out a spiderbot with it. Superman flies him and Superboy through the hole and Wonder Woman, Match, and Wonder Girl follow behind. Superman sets down Superboy.

"Nice aim," Aquaman compliments.

"X-ray vision. I cheat," Superman jokes with a grin.

Match, Phantom, Superboy, and Spook head off and begin destroying the spiderbots.

Wonder Woman lassos a spiderbot and crashes it into another.

"That was amazing! You just, you just–Whoosh!" Wonder Girl fangirls, making hand movements. "And then–And then–And then—Bang!"

Wonder Woman moves in front of her to block the blasts aimed at WG. "Little less fangirl. Little more Wonder Girl."

"Right. Sorry." WG then proceeds to destroy two spiderbots, making WW smile with pride.

"Three minutes to departure," Manta calls out.

Lagoon Boy distracts Manta, giving Aquaman enough time to punch off his helmet, revealing Kaldur underneath.

Lagoon Boy and Aquaman gape for a second.

"I had not believed Nightwing until this moment," Aquaman gasps.

"You did not want to believe!" Kaldur shouts.

Conner walks up. "None of us wanted to believe this! How could you betray us?"

"You dare question me? After all of you let Tula die!" He pulls out his two water blades.

Nightwing jumps down from above, landing in front of the three. "Kaldur that was a mission. Aquagirl knew the risks. No one wanted–"

"Neptune's beard! Don't coddle this traitor!" Lagoon Boy shouts. "He has joined forces with our King's greatest enemy."

"Do you mean the King who hid from me the true identity of my father?"

"That was my error in judgment Kaldur'ahm. No one else need suffer for it," Aquaman tries to reason.

"All will suffer if Black Manta demands it. Blood is thicker than sea water," Kaldur hisses.

A rocket launches out of his suit's shoulder, and Superman steps in the way. It explodes on contact. The smoke clears, and Kaldur is gone. Nightwing and Spook disappear after him.

"Kaldur," Nightwing calls out, revealing the hiding place of the two.

"Just you and me, old friends?" Kaldur asks, getting in a defensive stance.

"No!" Superboy calls out, sliding down the tunnel nearby. "It's a regular reunion special."

"Fine," Kaldur says, dropping the water bearers into puddles on the ground. "You can take me down. Or you can save everyone from this bomb. I am told the yield is quite impressive."

Superboy begins barreling towards Kaldur, but Spook places an intangible hand through him, without him noticing, and puts him to sleep. Kaldur and Nightwing look at her with surprise.

"Hurry up and go," Spook grunts. "I don't like keeping secrets from my husband."

"Never got to say congratulations," Kaldur says. "Sorry I couldn't make it."

"I'm sorry too," Spook says, lifting up Superboy. "We miss you."

He turns away. "You have two minutes," he says before disappearing under the water.

"They're getting away!" Lagoon Boy shouts.

Superboy stirs awake and Spook helps him stand.

"We'll stop them!" WG shouts.

"Negative," Nightwing says. "We have a bomb down here. Alien tech. I cannot disarm it."

"I'll get it out," Superboy says.

"No!" Nightwing shouts. "M-Might have pressure or motion sensors." He presses his comm link. "All squads! Evacuate to bio-ship! Now!"

"You heard Nightwing! Move!" Batman commands.

Everyone leaves the base into the bioship. Superman remains behind.

"Listen! Listen to me!" Superman calls out.

Spook takes notice of her missing father-in-law and flies back inside.

"Well done alpha squad," Batman says.

"Find a seat. It's time to go," Megan commands.

"Wait, where's Spook and Superman?" Superboy shouts with concern laced in his voice.

Spook flies up next to Superman. "Supes, we need to go!"

"Listen, I'm not trying to hurt you. A bomb is set to explode beneath this base. There are too many of you to carry individually. But if you board your ship, I'll fly you all to safety."

"Supes, it's too late for that!" Spook huffs, grabbing onto Superman and managing to turn intangible right as the bomb explodes.

Phantom contains the bioship in a force field as Megan gets them out of there.

'C'mon old girl!' Megan pleads as the explosion's blast moves over them.

"Spook!" Superboy shouts worriedly.

Once the light disperses, the bioship returns to look for Spook and Superman. The two exit the fire zone and reappear by the bioship much to the relief of everyone.

"I couldn't save them," Superman groans.

"It's alright," Spook reassures. "You can't save everyone. That much I know."

The back of the bisoship opens up and Match tackles the two in a big hug. "You scared me!"

Spook chuckles as they head back to the ship. "I'm sorry, Matchy. I'll try to be more careful next time."

"Hopefully there won't be a next time," Conner says as the three land inside.

They walk into the main area of the bioship. Rai immediately checks his sister over for injuries.

"Chill, fratello. It'll take a lot more than a bomb explosion to get rid of me."

"What just happened?" Wonder Girl asks.

"The Kroloteans were clearly trying to build a new ship," Megan says.

"They had to, Angelfish. It was their only way to leave Earth without their zeta platforms or their original ship," Lagoon Boy tells her.

"Uh but was Aqualad helping them escape? Or luring them into a trap?" WG asks.

"The bomb was of alien origin. Yet the Kroloteans clearly knew nothing about it. So where did it come from?" Nightwing wonders.

"I have the feeling it may be up to you and your team to find out," Batman answers.
