Chapter 5: New, New Doctor

"What's the city called?" Rose asked lying beside me. "This is New New York." I replied smiling. "Oh come on." Rose said scoffing. "It is. It's the city of New New York. Strictly speaking, this is the fifteenth so that makes it New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York." I replied smiling at Rose. She laughed. "I'll give you two lovebirds some private time. I'll just go ahead to the hospital, Adieu." Emily said smirking at us as she walked towards the hospital. "Just wait for us in the lobby!" I hollered smiling.
She just waved her hand to show me she heard me. "Can we go visit New New York, so good it was named twice?" Rose asked smiling. "I was thinking we might go there first." I replird pointing towards the curved building. "Why?" She asked frowning. "It's a hospital. Green moon on the side. That's the universal symbol for hospitals. I got this." I stated showing her my psyhic paper.
Ward 26. Please Come.
"Someone wants to see me." I said keeping it in my pocket. "Hmm, and I thought we were just sight seeing. Come on, let's go buy some grapes." Rose said smiling. I helped Rose up and we started to talk about the hospital. I put my arm around Emily as soon as I saw her and headed for the elevator. "Ward 26, thanks!" I said smiling. Emily rolled her eyes smiling. "Hold on! Hold on!" Rose said trying to reach the door. The doors closed just when Rose was about to hop on. "Too late." I said looking down. "Ward 26." I hollered down to Rose. "Dad, do always forget that I'm here and that your shouting at my ear?" She asked sarcastically. "Always the same man. Just a different face." Emily grumbled. The disinfectant activated making us both wet. "Watch out for the disinfectant!" I hollered down to Rose again.
"The what?!" Rose yelled back. "The disn-oh, You'll find out." I said shaking my head. "Commence stage one of disinfection." The speaker said drenching us with liquid. "Ugh! Good thing my book didn't get wet. I'm gonna sue them if it did get wet." Emily said checking her bag. I chuckled pulling her closer to me. She gasped as the blow dryer activated. I laughed ruffling her hair. "Oi, not the hair." She said fixing her hair. I shook my head as the elevators opened. I pulled her behind me as a veiled nurse showed us the Ward.
"Nice place. No shops, donwstairs. I'd have a shop. Not a big one. Just a shop so people can shop." I said smiling. "Dad, don't start. I bet she's gonna get mad at you." Emily whispered pointing to the nurse removing her veil. "I bet you 10 quid she won't get mad." I whispered back smirking. "The hospital is a place of healing." The nurse said frowning at Dad. Emily covered her chuckle with a scoff. "Give me my 10 quid later." She said fixing herself. "A shop does some good to other people. Not me. Other people." I said defending myself.
"The sisters of Plentitude make a life long vow to help and to mend." She continued. We passed by an open cubicle to see a man lying on the bed. "Excuse me! Members of the public may only gaze upon the Duke of Manhattan when you have permission from the Senate of New New York." The woman said furiously. Emily tried her best not to laugh and kinda succeded. She scoffed just to cover it. "That's Petrifold Regression, right?" I asked frowning. "I am dying, sir. A lifetime of charity and abstinence, and it ends like this." He said sadly.
"He'll be up in no time." Sister Jatt said smiling. "I doubt it. Petrifold Regression? He's turning to stone. There won't be a cure, a thousand years? He'll be up and runnng, only as a statue." I said looking around. "Have faith in the Sisterhood. Is there no one you recognize? It's unusual for you to vist without knowing the patient." She said smiling. "No, I think I found him." I said pulling Emily by the shoulder and walking towards The Face of Boe. "Oh, I think my friend got lost. Can you ask the receptionist? Her name is Rose Tyler." I said looking at The Face of Boe.
Emily gasped. "Certainly, sir." Jatt said walking away. "I'm afraid The Face of Boe is asleep. That's all he tends to do now a days. Are you a friend or-" I cut her off. "We met once before. On Platform One. What's wrong with him?" I asked frowning. "I'm sorry. I thought you knew. The Face of Boe is dying." Hame said sadly. "Of what?" I asked looking at him. Emily face palmed. "Old age. The one thing we can't cure." Hame replied looking at The Face of Boe. "Oh, I don't know. I like impossible. I'm here, a bit different, but it's me. It's the Doctor." I said smiling.
Emily
How can my Dad be so smart yet so stupid! Of course he's dying of old age! I rolled my eyes and my mind drifted off into a vision.
Vision
"Wait a minute that's-" Rose was cut off by... CASSANDRA!? HOW THE HELL IS SHE HERE!? "Peekabo!" She said smiling. They kept snapping at each other until Cassandra went in Rose in a form of gas.
End of Vision
"Emily! Are you alright?" Dad asked catching me before I fell. "Be caureful of Rose." I whispered feeling myself starting to feel better after coughing. Dad got Hame and I glasses of water. "That's very kind, but there's no need." Hame said getting the water. "You're the one working. Can you stand up?" Dad asked helping me up. "I'm fine. Just a bit dizzy." I replied smiling. "There's not much to do, just maintain the smoke and I suppose company. I could hear him singing in my head sometimes, ancient songs." Hame said smiling. "Am I the only visitor?" Dad asked helpig me up.
"The rest of the Boe-kind became extinct long ago. He's the only one left. Legend says that The Face of Boe has watched the universe grow. There are a lot of superstions about him." Hame replied drinking some water. "What does that mean?" Dad asked. "It's just a story." Hame replied. "Tell me the story." He said smiling. "It's said that he'll talk to a wanderer. To a man without a home. The lonley god." Hame replied. I looked at Dad to see she was talking about him.
Dad got his phone and called Rose. Fudge! NO! Don't do that! "Rose where are you?" Dad asked worried. I didn't bother to listen anymore. Cassandra was in Rose's body. I'm going to do whatever it takes to get her out. Rose is my mother! "Where have you been? How long does it take you to get to Ward 26?" Dad asked smiling. "You'll never guess. I'm with the Face of Boe! Remember him?" Dad asked excited I sighed sitting beside Hame. "Of course I do. The big old boat race." Cassandra replied through the phone. What the hell?! How could I hear from this distance?
Emily? a voice asked in my head. Who is it? I asked. I suppose you don't remember me anymore. It replied sadly. Before I could ask who it was, Dad called me. "Emily, come on." Dad hollered. "See you guys later." I said smiling at Hame and catching up to Dad.
"There you are. Come and look at this patient. Marconi's Disease. It should take years to recover. Two days. I've never seen anything like it. They've invented a cell washing cascade. It's amazing. Their medical science is advanced. And this one." Dad said walking towards a man as white as his bed gown. "Pallidome Pancrosis. Kills you in ten minutes, but he's fine. I need to find a terminal. I've got to see how they do this. Because if they've got the best medicine in the world. Then why is it a secret." Dad commented.
"I can't Adam and Eve it." Cassandra said following Dad. "What's, What's with the new voice?" Dad asked frowning. "Oh, just larking about. New Earth, new me." She replied smiling. "Well, I can talk. New New Doctor." Dad said smiling. "Mmm, aren't you just." Cassandra said grabing Dad and crashing their lips together. I sighed in frustration, kicking a can so hard it made a dent on the wall. "Terminal is this way." She said pulling away. "Yup, I still got it." Dad said dazzled, but walked after Cassandra. We were in the waiting room. I sat on another railing and put my earphones on. We reached the ICU which gave me the creeps. I looked up to see Cassandra and Dad go in a hole. I ran after them just in time for the whole to close.
"Intensive Care. It really looks intensive." Dad commented looking around. Cassandra lead us down a staircase to see thousands of cells. Dad opens a random one to see a sickman. "Disgusting. What's wrong with him?" Cassandra asked. I glared at her. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Dad said closing the cell and walking towards another one to see a young gril inside. I tear fell down my cheek. "What disease was that?" Cassandra asked disgusted. I smirked. The Rose Dad knew would care for them. Try to ask Dad if they can help these people.
Hame came in and Dad started to talk to her and pointed out how bad the situation is. "Hold on. I can undertsand what you did with the humans. I can understand your vows. One thing I don't understand. What have you done with Rose?" Dad asked calmly. "I don't know what you mean." Hame said confused. "I am very, very calm. And you know why I am very, very calm because the brain is delicate. Whatever you've done to Rose's head, I want it reversed." Dad ordered. "We haven't done anything." Hame replied still confused. "I'm perfectly fine." Cassandra lied. "These people are dying, and Rose would care." Dad stated. "Oh, clever clogs. Smarty pants. Lady-killer." Cassandra said smiling. "What's happened to you?" Dad asked frowning. "I knew the hospital was hiding something and I needed this body and your brains." She repiled smiling.
"Who are you?" Dad asked. "The last human." Cassandra replied. I hid behind one of the cells and listened. "Cassandra?" Dad asked frowning. "Wake up and smell the perfume." She said spraying him with some kind of sleeping gas, "You've hurt him. I'll call Matron." Hame said walking away. "You do that." Cassandra said pulling out some chords. Chip and her carried Dad into one of the cells. "Let me out! Let me out!" Dad yelled. "Aren't you lucky there's a spare room? Standing room only." Cassandra said smiling. "You've stolen Rose's body." Dad stated.
"Over the years, I've had a lot of thinking. Thinking about a thousand ways to kill you and now I have just the perfect one. All the diseases of the world in one cell. This unit will pump patients every ten minutes. You've got three minutes. Enjoy." Cassandra said smiking. "Just let Rose go." Dad ordered. "I will. As soon as I've found and younger and less common girl. Now hush baby. It's show time." Cassandra said closing the door. I snuck around Cassandra and Chip. I reached Dad who was looking down. I tapped the door, but he didn't repond. I rolled my eyes and faced Cassandra. I walked towards her, but Chip stopped me.
"Who are you?" He asked frowning. "The last person you want to mess with. Please, get out of my way." I said crossing my arms. He didn't do as I asked instead he tackled me and sat on me. "Get off me." I ordered. Cassnadra came walking to us. "Hmm, a younger and less common looking girl. Goodbye, Rose. Hello you." Cassnadra said get out of Rose and going in me. Something went wrong and she went back in Rose. "Why can't I take over your body?" Cassandra asked frowning. "Is there anything we can do to help?" Jatt asked.
"Yes, I want money. I'll keep your secret if you give me money." Cassadra replied looking back at them. Chip held my hands at the back. "The Sisterhood is a charity we only recieve money. We don't give money." Jatt replied smiling. "I advise you think it through." Cassandra said nervously. "We don't have to think it through." Jatt replied smirking. "You aren't even armed and you aren't the Nuns and Guns type." Cassandra commented.
"Who needs arms when we have claw." Jatt said showing it. "Ok, Chip. Plan B." Cassandra said pulling a lever. Every cell door opened. Dad came out. "Cassandra! What have you done?!" Dad asked furious."Gave the system a boost. Enough for them to wake up. See you!" Cassandra said running. I ran after her. "Don't touch them! Whatever you do, don't touch them!" Dad hollered running after me. "Oh my gosh." Cassandra gasped. "What thell did you do?" Dad asked glaring at her. "It wasn't me." Cassandra replied. "One touch and you have all the diseases in the world and I want that body safe. Cassandra, we've got to go down." Dad ordered. I sighed again. Does everyone keep forgetting I'm here?
"But there's thousands of them!" Cassandra complained. "Run down! Down go now!" Dad ordered. Cassandra didn't move so I pulled her down the stairs with me. I'm gonna have to say sorry to Rose later. She stopped and tried to call a lift. "No, no lifts. That's quarantine. Nothing is moving." Dad commented. "This way!" Cassandra said leading us towards her lair. Chip got cut off by the humans. "Someone will touch him." Dad said worried. "Leave him! He's just a clone thing. He has half a life. Come on!" Cassandra said running away. "Go, Dad. I'll take care of him." I said smiling. "My Mistress!" Chip called. "But you might get touched." Dad said worried. "She'll get away. Just go!" I said giving him a light push. "Don't get touched." Dad said running after Cassandra.
I looked in my bag to see I still had my helmet and gloves inside. I wore them and crawled under the humans. I reached Chip and pulled him up. "You're safe." I said protecting him from the touch of the humans and running towards the ICU. We locked ourselves in one of the cells and waited for them to leave. They left after 5 minutes. I opened the door and pulled Chip towards the hotel reception. It was swarmed with humans. The lift door opens.
"I'm in here! Come on!" Dad yelled. I had wide eyes and immediatly ran towards him. "What the hell are you doing, Dad!? Do you want to get yourself killed!?" I asked hugging him tightly. He chuckled and patted my back. "What is with the helmet and the gloves?" Dad asked frowning. I laughed removing them and putting them back in my bag. "Happy?" I asked nervously looking at the humans outside. "Emily, do you trust me?" Dad asked smiling. I looked up and nodded. He smiled. "Pull that lever!" Dad hollered. "Come and get me! Come on!" Dad shouted hugging me to him tighter. "I'm in here! Come on!" Dad shouted again.
I took a small peek to see the infected humans walking towards us. "Commence stage one disinfection." The system said spraying us and the first humans. "Hurry up! Come on!" Dad yelled once again. "Emily, look. They want to pass it on." Dad whispered letting me go. I looked up to see the looks on the humans. I smiled at my Dad as if asking permission. He nodded. "Pass it on!" Dad and I ordered. "Pass on what? Pass on what?" Cassandra asked from above. We ignored her. "Pass it on!" We ordered in union. Dad helped Rose down. I smiled and hugged her. "I thought I lost you to Cassandra, Mom." I said smiling.
"What is this child doing to me?' Cassandra asked pushing me away. "Why did you call her Mom?" Dad asked frowning. "I've been calling her that for awhile now. I started calling her mom before we met Dickens." I replied smirking.
"Well, your Mom is still stuck inside since Cassandra is still in her." Dad said ruffling my hair. I groaned sitting on the edge. "Anyway, what did they pass on? Did you kill them? All of them?" Cassandra asked frowning. "No. That's your way of doing things." Dad replied walking out. I sighed and stood up following him. I never really liked Cassandra. "I'm the Doctor and I cured them." Dad replied hugging a girl. "That's right. Here you go, sweetheart. Go to him. Go on, that's it. This a new kind of sub-spicies. You can't deny them because you helped made them. Raised by cats, kept in the dark, fed by tubes, but completely alive. The human race keeps on going and changing. Life will out, ha!" Dad said smiling. "Dad, I think I'll wait for you two in the Tardis." I said smiling He nodded and ruffled my hair. I sighed and walked back towards the Tardis.

"This is NNYPD please step away from the shuttles." The speaker blared. "The staff of the building will be immediatly arrested. I repeat, the staff of the building will be immediatly arrested." The speaker blared again. "The Face of Boe!" I exclaimed running end of the ward. "You're supposed to be dying." I commented. "There are a lot of better things to do than dying. Dying can wait." Boe repiled weakly. "Oh, I hate telepathy. Just what I need. A head full of a big face." Cassandra complained. "Shh!" I said facing Boe."You know there are legends about you stating that you have seen the universe grow." I commented.
"I have grown with the universe, Doctor. You helped me look at it a new." He replied. "You know there are legends about you stating that you have seen the universe grow." I commented again. "There are? That would be impossible." He replied. "Wouldn't it just. I had a great impression you wanted to tell me something." I said smiling. " A great secret." He replied. " So legend says." I said waiting for him to say the secret. "It can wait." He stated. "Oh, does it have too?" I asked like a little child. "We shall meet again, Doctor. For the third time, and the last time. I shall tell you the secret by then. See you soon, Doctor." He replied disappearing into thin air.
"That was just enegmatic. Text book enegmatic. And now for you." I said facing Cassandra. "But everything is happy. Can't you just leave me?" She asked smiling. "You've lived long enough. Leave the body and end it now, Cassandra." I ordered. "I don't want to die." She stated. "No one does." I replied. "Help me." She said pleadingly. "I can't." I replied sadly. "Mistress!" Chip called. "Oh, your alive." Cassandra commented. "Emily helped save me for you." He said smiling. "Oh, a willing donor." Cassandra said smirking. "Don't you dare, Cassandra. He's got a life of his own." I ordered. "I worship the mistress and I welcome her." Chip said smiling.
"You can't, Cassandra, you-" I was cut off by enegry going inside Chip and Rose collapsing. "Woah, are you alright?" I asked worried. "Yeah! Hello. Where's Emily?" Rose asked worriedly. "Hello! Welcome back. She's back at the Tardis." I replied smiling. "Oh, sweet zeus, I'm a walking doodle." Cassandra said looking at herself. "You can't stay there, Cassandra. I can take you back to the city and they can build you a new skin tank. Then you can stand trial for all the things you've done. " I said sadly.
"That would be dramatic. Chip is a half-life. He's been through so much his heart is racing from all the excitement. He's failing. I don't think he's going to last." Cassandra said falling on her knees. "Are you alright?" I asked concenred. "I'm alright." She replied. "I can take you to the city." I offered. "No, you won't. Everything in this planet is new. There won't be a place for me and Chip. You're right, Doctor. It's time for me to say farewell." Cassandra said sadly, but put in a smile. "There is one last thing I can do." I said helping her up and I called Emily. "Dad, what do you want?' She asked annoyed. "Is that how you answer your father?" I asked jokingly. "Sorry, Dad. What's up?" She asked chuckling. "Can you bring the Tardis here. I need to give Cassandra one last thing." I replied smiling. "Just wait a moment." She said ending the call.
We waited for a few minutes and Emily came with the Tardis. We helped Cassandra in and went back to where she was having party. The Tardis materialized and assandra went out. "Thank you." Cassandra whispered walking towards the Lady Cassandra. She turned back to us. "Just go and don't look back." Dad replied smiling. "Good luck." Mom added. Cassandra walked towards old herself and complimented her then died. I didn't want to say the things she said because it somehow made my eyes water. We left them there as we travelled again.
"Emily, I was so worried about you! Are you alright? I missed you so much." Rose asked. I smirked and hugged her. "I missed you too. I know you didn't ask to be called mom. You just told me I can and I will. You don't have to marry Dad. Just being here with is is enough." I said smiling.
"Emily, you know I am honored to be your mum. I'll try my best to be the best mum I can be for you." She said smiling and kissing my head. I hugged her tightly. "I love you, Rose." I whispered blushing. "I love you, too." She replied smiling. "OK, since we got everything we had to say out. Next destination." Dad said smiling at both of us.
