Chapter 1: New Found Friend

Ninth

I rubbed my head as I wiped my tears away, remembering the Time Wars. It was all my fault, my people... gone forever.

Suddenly, bright light surrounded the TARDIS accompanied by loud crying. "Ack! What the hell is that!?" I hissed closing my eyes and covering my ears. The bright light subsided, but that annoying crying got louder. It's killing me!

I opened my eyes to find a baby wrapped in red linen on top of the TARDIS console. "Why is a baby on top of the console?" I thought, carrying it in my arms and pointed the sonic screwdriver at it. "No, don't play with it. This isn't a toy." I cautioned as the infant reached for the head of the driver and started to lick it. The sonic screwdriver continued to calculate. Out of all the age groups of humans, I hate babies the most. They cry, they poo, they eat, they annoy me. I sighed as I checked the calculations. I pulled my screwdriver away to have it start crying louder.

"Impossible! I-It can't be!" I yelled gripping the baby tighter. The baby is a TimeLord, a female, and from... from my blood line. Directly from me! T-That's impossible! I... I killed... The crying got even louder and I looked down to see I was gripping her too tight for her comfort.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry.." I whispered loosening my hold on her and kissed her forehead. She stopped crying almost immediately and she gave me a crooked smile. I chuckled smiling as well. She played with my fingers then she fell asleep, what an adorable girl. I walked further inside the TARDIS and laid the baby on a crib.

"I'll name you... Agile? No, that doesn't suit you does it. Hmmm, what about Adreana? No that doesn't sound good either. I need simple. Celeste? Do you like it?" I asked as I saw her scrounged her nose in disapproval while she slept. I chuckled kissing her forehead. "I'll name you Emily, simple, but it means striving, industrious in Latin. I'm fascinated by the Latins, impressive words and names. You know they used Latin for the first literature in the church." I rambled smiling. I promise to raise and protect you with all I am.

NINE HUNDRED YEARS LATER

"Emily! Are you coming?! It's a new adventure!" I exclaimed grinning from the console as I tinkered it. "Dad, I feel sick. I am going to go to bed, you go have fun." Emily replied as I heard groaning from her room. I sighed running out the TARDIS and sneaked into the establishment. This is going to be fantastic!

"Hello? Hello, Wilson, it's Rose. Hello, Wilson?" A woman asked as I accidentally bumped some items behind me. I cringed, hiding behind some boxes and watched the lady. Oh, she has quite the hair, legally blonde.

"Wilson? Wilson?" She called again as one of the dummies started to move. I want to watch first how this one will play out. "You're kidding me." She stated as I accidentally hit my head on the boxes behind me again. The lady turned and looked around before walking forward. What is with me today and I'm bumping into anything close?

"Is that someone mucking about? Who is it?" She asked as she watched a male shop dummy approach her. "Yeah, you got me. Very funny." She remarked nervously as two more dummies behind her approached. Sometimes I wonder if humans ever learn anything from their own movies and books, because obviously this one learned none.

"Right, I've got the joke. Who's idea was this? Is it Derek? Derek, is it you?" She inquired nervously backing away from the dummies towards my hiding spot. I grinned taking her hand in mine.

"Run." I ordered as we ran towards the lift. The dummies followed us as the lift doors closed. One of them tried to reach for us getting its arm stuck in the middle of the doors. I pulled its arm off for the lift to fully close.

"You pulled his arm off." She commented as I soniced the arm. There we go, the signal is gone. "Yep. Plastic." I replied as she looked at the arm. "Very clever. Nice trick! Who were they then, students?" She asked frowning. "Why would they be students?" I asked looking at the floor buttons which lit up one by one as we descended. "I don't know." She replied blinking, confused. "Well, you said it. Why students?" I asked looking at her. " 'Cos to get that many people dressed up and being silly, they got to be students." She replied. "That makes sense. Well done." I complimented smiling. "Thanks." She replied smiling.

Emily

I groaned clutching my stomach. It was aching like my insides were eating itself! I need that screwdriver to find out what's wrong with me. I sighed covering myself with the comforter. This sucks, I want to go on the adventure with Dad. He said we were going to meet something really interesting this time. And I keep getting these dreams too, I wonder what they mean.

"Emily?" A familiar voice called. "Emily, what's wrong? Where are we?" The voice asked closer. I took a peak and saw the most beautiful pair of blue eyes I have ever seen. "Emily, what's wrong?" The man inquired worriedly cupping my cheek. "W-Who are you?" I asked coughing.

"Oh... you're the Emily from the past." He stated pulling away, but I held his hand. It was soothing. "Are you from my future?" I asked closing my eyes and clutched my stomach again. "Not exactly. I can travel through time lines." He replied caressing my cheek. "Oh, are you like us?" I asked as I sat up to find him sitting very close to me. "No, no, I don't think we're quite a like." He replied as I started to get really uncomfortable with his distance. "Uhm... could you move away a bit, please?" I asked smiling. "Oh, of course." He replied moving back, but he kept his hands on my cheek.

Minutes passed and nothing was said between us. "May I know your name?" I inquired boldy - breaking the silence. "My name is Castiel and I'm an Angel of the Lord." Castiel replied caressing my cheek again. "How do I know you?" I asked staring into his beautiful blue orbs. "You'll know sooner or later. Emily, please tell me what's wrong." He replied scooting near again. I gasped coughing from the pain.

"I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" Castiel worriedly asked. I smiled warmly at him. "No, it's not you. I just suddenly felt so sick as soon as we arrived here." I replied sighing. He touched my forehead with his index and middle finger and I felt myself slowly feeling better. "What did you do?" I asked as he slowly positioned us in a way that my back was leaning on his chest.

"I healed you. You seemed to have colds and food poisoning. Did you eat anything weird recently?" Castiel asked as he stroked my hair. "Well, besides the pizza, none." I replied as he continued to stroke my hair. "Why are you so kind to me?" I added as he gave my forehead a kiss. "You'll know soon enough." He replied as we heard the front door of the TARDIS open. "I'll leave you be now. It's best you rest before you start moving." He whispered as I heard flapping and he disappeared as a pillow was positioned behind me.

"Emily! Do you feel better!?" Dad asked as he barged into my room. I sighed smiling at him. "I'm fine, Dad. No need to fuss over me." I replied sitting up. "Are you alright to walk?" Dad asked as he gently held my arm and pulled me to my feet. "Yatz. I could go with you now. Fill me in?" I asked as we walked towards the console. "Well, an alien is controlling plastic. I have a ha-Blimey! I let that girl hold it for me!" He exclaimed standing up and rushed towards the console. Dad was tracking the signal of whatever he was looking for. "Companion materiel?" I asked following him. "Probably, come on while the signal is strong." He said smiling. I grinned and followed him out with my leather jacket. "Woah, wait, wait, wait. You have to change out of your pajamas." He stated crossing his arms. I groaned running back in my room and quickly changing into a tank top and jeans before rushing out while tying my shoelace. "Come on then." Dad stated as we ran towards an odd building.

We ran up the stairs to the second floor and walked towards a door with a cat flap. Dad fiddled with it using his screwdriver. "You look like a total idiot." I commented as the door opened. A lady with blonde hair greeted us. "What are you doing here?" Dad asked as I peeked behind him to see a corridor which lead to a room and a huge opening. I think they called it a living room.

"I live here." She replied confused. "Well, what do you do that for?" I asked curious. "Because I do. I'm only at home because someone blew up my job." She replied and gave Dad an annoyed stare. I laughed, it's been a long time since someone has ever done that to him. "Who are you?" She asked smiling at me. "Emily, this is Rose, the lady I told you about. Rose, this is Emily, my daughter." Dad introduced. Rose smiled and nodded in understanding.

"I must have got the wrong signal. You're not plastic, ar-" I cut him off. "Well, duh. Can't you see she's human?" I asked raising a brow. "Don't cut me off, Emily. That's rude." Dad scolded raising a brow at me as well. "You both are adorable. You were saying?" Rose asked interupting our banter. "You're not plastic, are you? No, bonehead. Bye, then." Dad replied gripping my arm. "You. Inside. Right now." She said pulling us both inside.

"Who is it?" A stranger voice asked. Dad and I looked at each other as we walked through the corridor leading to the living room. We paused, looking around and I took a peak at a room. There was an older looking lady inside and she started a conversation with Dad. I didn't care about what they were talking about so I didn't listen. I frowned at a frame on the wall. Aw, is that Rose when she was a child?

"Oh, we're talking millions." Dad replied as he looked ahead. Quite the untidy type these two are. Look at the mess in the living room! "I'm in my dressing gown." The woman stated making me frown and turn my attention to them. "Yes, you are." Dad replied as he went back to looking at something up front. "There's a strange man in my room." She continued. Is she seducing him? "Yes, there is." Dad replied looking at her. "Well, anything could happen." She said smiling. I rolled my eyes. "No." Dad replied walking away. "Shame on you, hitting on a younger man." I mocked frowning at her. "Who are you?" She asked frowning. "No one important." I replied walking towards the living room. I giggled as I watched Dad fiddle with the Heat copy and a paperback.

"Ah, could've been worst. Look at the ears. Emily, look." Dad said smiling. I laughed as he flicked his ears a bit. He tried to shuffle some cards and it went flying. I chuckled catching them. "Miss Rose, can I have these?" I inquired as she turned to look and smile. "Sure." She replied going back to whatever she was doing. I frowned as the cat flap rattled.

"What's that, then? You got a cat?"/"Miss Rose, have you got a cat?"

Rose gave us an amused look. "No." She replied as I looked at Dad to see him have the Auton arm on his throat. I gasped trying to pull it from his throat. "No... get.. away..." He trailed off as Rose came in. "I told Mickey to chuck that out. You're all the same. Give a man a plastic hand. Anyway, I don't even know your name. Doctor, what was it?" Rose asked as Dad threw the hand and it tried to suffocate Rose by wrapping itself around her face. "Dad!" I yelled as we both pulled the arm away from Rose. When we got it off her, he hit it on his palm and the signal died down. "It's alright. I've stopped it. There you go, you see? Armless." Dad joked grinning. I rolled my eyes feeling annoyed. The corniness never stops with him.

"Do you think?" Rose asked hitting him with it. "Ow!" Dad exclaimed. I laughed, they're adorable. I wonder if Dad was going to choose her as our companion. I followed them down the stairs. I was more concentrated on why that thing wanted to kill Rose. Maybe they thought she was important to Dad? Or they just saw her as a threat?

"Emily!" Dad hollered breaking my chain of thought. I shook my head and caught up with him. "Bye, Rose Tyler." I said waving and walked towards the TARDIS.

"Dad, why would that want to kill Rose?" I asked as I closed the door behind me. "She met me while I was trying to learn what they were." He replied. I rolled my eyes as the TARDIS moved. "Pizza?" He asked, but I looked at the screen to see him tracking Rose. "You fancy her!" I exclaimed smirking. "No, I don't. Focus on the job at hand." Dad replied raising a brow. "Dad, denial is never good." I remarked grinning. "Emily, you don't stop teasing, I won't give your own psychic paper and pizza." He replied smirking. I gasped covering my mouth and shutting up. The TARDIS stopped. I sighed standing up.

"Punishment for teasing me is staying here. Don't worry, we'll get your pizza after this." Dad stated smirking. "But Dad!" I yelled as he opened the door. "Stay inside." He ordered closing the door. I glared at the door and got a book from the library. I walked towards my room and sighed making myself levitate.

I have powers, it's amazing really. I don't know where or how I got it. It started to show I think five centuries ago. I smiled remembering the memory.

"Emily!" Dad shrieked as he saw me levitating. I grinned at him then I suddenly felt myself falling. Dad caught me before I hit the ground. "Blimey! Emily, are you trying to give me a heart attack!?" Dad asked frowning gravely. "Nope! I didn't even know I can do that until now!" I exclaimed grinning. He sighed shaking his head. "Be careful wih your new found abilities." He mumbled putting me down. "When do I ever listen to anyone?" I asked smirking. He chuckled and lightly pushed me towards my room. "Go read a book." He stated smiling. I laughed disappearing into my room.

Someone wrapped their arms around my waist and we fell on my bed. "Hey!" I exclaimed as the person let me go. "What the bloody he-Cas!" I exclaimed embracing him. He seemed shock to get such a response. "What are you doing here? How are you here?" I asked hugging him tighter. "I told you, I can travel through time lines." He replied stroking my hair. I sighed closing my eyes. "What is it?" Castiel inquired as if sensing my mood. "Nothing, just annoyed and tired." I replied leaning my head on his chest. His heart was beating fast. "Are you nervous?" I asked as I looked up to see him nod. I smiled at how adorably honest he was. I kissed his cheek. "Why do you always come on the right times and leave me curious?" I asked as we heard the door open and shut.

"The assembled hoard of Genghis Khan couldn't get through that door, and believe me, they've tried. Now, shut up a minute." Dad said controlling the TARDIS.

"You have two hearts." Castiel commented as he caressed my hand. "Castiel, be honest with me. What is my relationship with you in the future?" I asked as he intertwined our hands. He thought for a minute. "I'm your boyfriend." He replied as my breath hitched. "How?" I asked as he continued to caress my hand.

"Emily!" Dad called. "That you have to find out for yourself." Castiel whispered blowing on my ear then I heard flapping and he disappered.

I smiled as I stood up and walked out. I smiled seeing Rose and Dad converse as the TARDIS jiggled. It stopped and I followed Dad and Rose out the TARDIS. "You're also alien?" She asked as I smiled and nodded. "What are we dealing with?" I asked yawning. "Nestene Consciousness." Dad replied as I walked down the stairs then everything went black.

"Emily, Emily, wake up!" Dad whispered pinching my wrist. I hissed, waking up in a groggy state. "Ow, what happened?" I asked as he talked to the pile of goo. "You went ahead and you got hit in the back by plastic boy over there." Dad replied as I felt myself being pushed. "Watch it!" I hissed as Dad looked a bit worried. He was telling Rose to run.

"I've got no A levels, no job, no future..." Rose trailed off grabbing an axe. "But I'll tell you have I have got. Jericho Street Junior School under 7s gymnastic team. I've got bronze!" She exclaimed chopping the rope and kicking the two Autons. "Definitely companion material." I commented smiling. "Right you are." Dad remarked smilling with me. "Rose!" We both exclaimed as Rose jumped on the chain distracting the goo. Dad grabs her and I hugged them both tightly. "Now we're in trouble." Dad stated as I cut us loose and we ran towards the TARDIS. I stayed a bit longer to watch the pile of goo disappear.

"Emily!" Dad called as I ran towards the TARDIS and I closed the door behind me. "That got messy." I commented huffing. "Keep your comments to yourself, Emily." Dad ordered sighing. Such a tiring day. We stopped and the other guy ran out to hide behind a pallet. I shook my head at the bubmling idiot clinging to Rose. Rose walked to his side while we stood at the door way.

I smiled sadly as Rose declined Dad's offer. "Yeah, I can't... I've, er, I've got to go find my mum and someone's got to look after this stupid lump, so." Rose replied smiling a bit sadly. "Okay. See you around." Dad replied closing the door behind us.

"You can't just leave it like that! Won't you fight for her!? Don't leave her with that bumbling idiot! And don't deny the fact that you fancy her, even a bit." I scolded frowning. "Alright, I'll go." Dad replied as we we went back. Dad sighed and opened the door. "By the way, did I mention it also travels in time?" Dad asked. I grinned seeing Rose come running towards the TARDIS. I smiled hugging her. "Welcome to the TARDIS." I said smiling. "You're so adorable." She commented smiling.
