Chapter One: Across The Worlds (EXCERPT)
The Doctor and the Ponds were in the TARDIS, deciding where they should travel to next. As they spoke, there was a blaring alarm sound coming from the console. "What's that noise, Doctor?" Amy asked.
"I'm not sure, let me check," The Doctor replied, going to the monitor to see. It seemed there was an emergency. "Oh dear. That's rather bad."
"What's wrong?" Rory asked.
"Nothing. Just a small hiccup in all of time and space." He went to a compartment in the TARDIS floor, digging around in search of something.
"A what?" Amy raised her voice slightly in shock.
"Yes, I know. It sounds bad, but... well, technically, it is bad. But don't worry, we can fix it. With..." He paused as he continued rummaging through the floor compartment, until he found what he was looking for. "Aha! This!" He held up the small USB.
"What's that?" Rory inquired.
"It's called a loophole key." He closed the compartment and approached the Ponds. "It has the power to create a small portal to another dimension. But, the downside is, I can only use it once. And I have yet to try. Obviously, I could have, but I decided that I should save it for an emergency such as this."
"What is the emergency exactly?" Amy asked.
"It's difficult to tell, really. We would have to go there and find out for ourselves."
"Would it be dangerous?" Rory queried.
"Perhaps. But that's the fun of it, wouldn't you agree?" The Doctor smiled, plugging the USB into the TARDIS console. "Hold on tight. It's gonna be a bumpy ride."

The Winchesters, meanwhile, were in the bunker in search of leads regarding Abbadon. Now that Dean had obtained the Mark of Cain, he would be able to kill her. The only problem now was that in order to kill her, they would have to find her first. After much time spent doing research, Sam finally broke the silence with a heavy sigh, and began to speak. "Dean, this is hopeless. We're never gonna find her."
"You don't know that. Maybe we will, we just gotta keep digging."
"Dean, we've been digging forever. It's not happening."
Dean sighed, looking his brother in the eye. "We will find this bitch, Sammy. I guarantee it."
"You can't guarantee it, Dean. Not until we actually find something, which we haven't."
Dean was about to speak, until they heard a strange noise, like a wheezing engine, coming from outside. They both looked to the door. "What the hell was that?" Dean asked.
"Not sure." Sam replied.
Outside, the Doctor and the Ponds had landed in the TARDIS. It was quite the bumpy ride as expected. "Is it over?" Amy groaned, still gripping the railing tight.
"It would seem so," The Doctor responded. "Hopefully it worked, and we're in an alternate dimension. Let me check the TARDIS." He looked to the monitor at the console. "Yes. Different world. What fun."
"Do you know what's out there?" Rory asked.
He checked the camera system to get a look at the outer surroundings. "Just an odd building of some sort. Looks official, like the center of some kind of secret government organization or something. Ooh, that's exciting." He grinned.
"And where are we exactly?" Amy inquired.
"Lawrence, Kansas." He replied curtly.
"Ah, America then. Should we take a look around? Have a look in that government building?"
"We shall." He went to the doors, looking back at the Ponds. "Geronimo."
The Winchesters were inside wondering about the odd noise. "Maybe it was... just the wind." Sam suggested uncertainly.
"The wind? Sammy, I have never once heard wind sound like that."
"Well what do you think it is?"
"I dunno, I think we should check it out."
Dean approached the door, Sam following suit. Dean put his ear to the door, listening for anything outside, hearing nothing. Reluctantly, he opened the door, where the Doctor and the Ponds stood, the Doctor holding his sonic screwdriver. Neither of the boys were sure what to make of this. "Who're you?" Dean asked them.
"Hello," The Doctor greeted. "My name's the Doctor. These are my companions, Rory and Amy."
"Doctor? Doctor who?"
A grin played at the Time Lord's lips. "Trust me, you're never going to stop asking. It's just the Doctor."
"The Doctor?" Sam repeated. "You mean like... from Doctor Who?"
The Doctor became confused by this question. "Doctor... what?"
"It's a TV show. It's been going on for over fifty years now."
"Sam, what the hell are you talking about?" Dean murmured.
Sam looked to his brother. "Surely you've heard of it."
He just shrugged. "I dunno, maybe."
"Wait, wait, back up a second," Rory spoke up. "We're on... television?"
"Yeah. I mean, I've never seen this version of the Doctor, but I think I saw the one with the leather jacket, and the one with the blue suit."
"Sam," Dean muttered. "Seriously. What the hell?"
"What? It was just once. Maybe twice. Never actually got into it." He scoffed. "Obviously."
"Yeah. Clearly."
"Anyways, gentlemen," The Doctor began. "We are here on very important business. First, tell me, what branch of government do you belong to? CIA? FBI?"
"Wait a sec, government?" Dean repeated.
"Yes, government. This is clearly an official government building. Right?" He was suddenly quite unsure of himself.
"Dude, this is like the opposite of the government."
Amy chuckled at that. "Well, Doctor, nice job figuring that out."
The Doctor rolled his eyes, not appreciating the sarcasm. "So, what were your names?"
"I'm Dean, this is Sam." Dean glanced past the Doctor, spotting the TARDIS. "Is that your... box?"
"Yes. It's a TARDIS. Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It's a time machine. And we used this time machine to travel from one dimension to another, because your entire universe is in grave danger."
This got the boys worried. "What?" They asked in unison.
"Yes. Perhaps we should come in and explain it to you in full."
Sam and Dean exchanged soulful looks before replying. "Fine." Dean answered. "But no funny business."
"Trust me, this business isn't funny."
They all went inside, sitting in the library. The Doctor then began to explain what he knew. "So, on my TARDIS, I got a minor... blip. And by minor blip, I mean I received an alert saying that, in a nutshell, all of time and space is beginning to blend together in a big meshy... glop of dimensions. But I'm sure there's a way to rectify that. If there is, I'll find it. Trust me. So, any questions?"
"Uh, yeah, what do you mean by 'blend together?'" Dean asked.
"All of the different dimensions out there, parallel universes, alternate realities, they will all become one, and... well, it will basically be destroyed in one big, giant mess. Everything will fall apart."
"So how would we stop it?" Sam asked.
The Doctor sighed sharply. "I have no idea."
"Doctor?" Amy began. "Exactly when and where is all of this going to start?"
"Well, here, actually. In this building."
"What? Why didn't you say so?" Dean asked.
"We showed up here of all places when the very apocalypse is on the horizon. I assumed you could figure it out for yourselves."
"So do we have any idea what's gonna happen?" Sam asked.
"Well, theoretically, it could turn out to be anything. Monsters, aliens, who knows?"
"It better not be friggin aliens." Dean muttered, running his hand through his hair.
Sam grinned slightly. "Don't worry. Whatever it is, I'm sure we can handle it."
"I hope so."
All of a sudden, there was a bright light in the middle of the room, followed by a loud humming sound. They all looked to see what had happened. There was a vortex there, which was a surprise to them all. It glowed bright yellow orange, the walls of the vortex lined with hexagonal shapes.
"Doctor, what is that?" Amy asked, raising her voice to be heard above the humming sound.
"I don't know!" The Doctor replied.
Just like that, two men fell out of the vortex onto the floor, and the vortex was gone. One of the two men was tall and wearing a black overcoat, while the other, much shorter one, wore a white sweater and dark denim jeans. The two began to look around in a daze, the others remaining motionless. "Where are we?" The shorter one asked.
The taller one made eye contact with the Doctor. "I'm not sure. But perhaps these gentlemen-and lady-will be so kind as to enlighten us." He spoke deeply and gently.
The other saw who he was referring to and jumped to his feet. "Who are you?" He asked curtly.
"I'm the Doctor," The Doctor introduced. "These are my companions, Amy and Rory. And that is Sam and Dean. Who might you be?"
The tall one got to his feet quickly and calmly. "Sherlock. And John." He nodded to the shorter one, John. "Now, why don't you tell us where we are?"
