-------------------

Jon quickly sat down in the back of his second period. He had been assigned to sit next to some random girl. He internally sighed, he was already missing the presence of Damian.

He reluctantly plopped his back pack down and took out a pencil.

Halfway through the lesson, the girl tapped his shoulder.

"Pssssst."

Jon looked at her, prompting her to go on.

"Was that Damian Wayne that was with you?"

Jon gave her a curious look and nodded.

Her face had a look of shock on it.

"Why does it matter?"

"Do you even know who he is?"

"Uhhhh, he's Damian?"

The girl sighed in disgust. "Do you know how much money he has? He's a freakin billionaire! Wait, did he say that he would give you any of his money-"

She was cut off when Jon turned his back on her. He almost cringed in horror, was that all people thought of Damian? Did all they think about was his money?

Then it hit Jon, if Damian was viewed this way, did he have any real friends? Anyone who actually liked Damian for Damian? Is this why Damian seemed so lonely?

Jon already knew that he liked, no, loved Damian's dark, brooding, and arrogant personality. He didn't care at all about the money.

"Put in a good word for me, my name's Ashley," whispered the girl, before paying attention to the lesson again.

Jon wanted to slap her on the spot. How could anyone treat Damian that way?

He controlled his anger and focused back on the lesson.

---

After his period ended, Damian walked out his classroom. He was about to head to the other side of the school, to F-18.

But it hit it that Jon probably had no idea where it was. He sighed before heading to Jon's previous classroom.

He then smiled a bit knowing that the sad feeling in his heart would finally go away, as soon as he saw Jon. He didn't know what attracted him to the taller boy so much. He just knew that Jon wasn't like the rest of the idiots that went to his school.

He arrived at Jon's classroom but didn't see Jon inside. He grew a little worried; he started to walk around to look for Jon.

He searched for a minute before he found Jon staring at a school map near the cafeteria. Jon's eyebrows were furrowed with thought as he was trying to figure out where the F wing was.

Damian sighed in relief and walked up to Jon.

"Jon."

Jon jumped up, which Damian started snickering at.

"Hey, don't laugh at me, you would have done the same thing," pouted Jon.

"Anyways, what are you doing?" asked Damian.

"Uhhhhh, trying to figure out where F-18 is?"

Damian sighed in annoyance. "Why didn't you just ask a teacher?"

"I was figuring it out," whined Jon. "Oh god, look at the time Damian."

Damian turned his head and looked at the clock. There was only a minute left before the bell rang."

"Come on, we have to run," said Damian. He started sprinting with Jon at his side.

"Ahhhh, left or right Damian?" yelled Jon.

"Right," yelled Damian. Both boys turned right and dashed to their class. There were no students in the halls because they had already gone to class.

They finally arrived at the classroom and Damian dashed for his seat while Jon ran to the teacher's desk. They were both panting and weird looks were shot at them.

The bell rang as soon as Damian sat down.

"Right on time," sighed the teacher.

After Jon cleared things up about being new with the teacher, she told him to pick a spot.

Immediately, many students raised their hands, shouting at Jon to sit next to them. Jon had already become quite popular, what was not to like about him? He was nice and funny. He had also talked to many people randomly throughout the day.

Damian sighed as he knew that Jon wouldn't sit next to him. If so many people liked Jon, what chance did Damian have?

Jon didn't even need to think, he immediately walked up to Damiana and plopped his backpack on the chair next to him. He sat down and gave Damian a smile, which Damian slowly returned.

Damian may have looked calm on the outside, but he was exploding on the inside. Jon had picked him! He had picked Damian over most of the class! It was weird, because people usually picked Damian over others, but he didn't care at all. But for some reason, when Jon picked him, he felt a warm feeling in his stomach.

Happiness.

He realized that he was smiling, and returned to his usual poker face.

After the period was over, Jon zipped up his backpack and faced Damian.

"Erm, thanks Damian," muttered Jon.

"For what?" asked Damian with a smirk.

"Oh shut up..." Jon's face was red with embarrassment.

"But I want to know why you are thanking me," said Damian.

"Fine, fine, you win. Thanks for helping me get to class," muttered Jon.

Damian smirked victorious, while Jon poked his tongue out at him.

Both boys realized that they were the only people in the class left.

"I have lunch this period, you?" asked Jon.

"Yes, me too," said Damian. "Um, Jon?"

Jon looked up at him.

"Would you wish to accompany me to our midday meal?"

Jon looked confused at first, and Damian felt stupid. His cheeks flushed red with embarrassment when he realized that Jon probably had someone better to sit with.

"Would I like to eat lunch with you?" asked a confused Jon.

Damian nodded timidly.

Jon beamed. "Of course I am, Dami!"

He turned to face Damian and tackled him into a hug. Damian flushed even more red.

His body was stiff but he soon relaxed, just as Jon pulled away. He immediately felt regret. He wanted to be in Jon's arms. He didn't know why, but just feeling Jon'a warmth made him want to kiss the other boy. Perhaps it was because he rarely ever got hugs? Bleh, what were these thoughts running through his mind?

"So where do you usually eat, Damian?"

"I like to sit under this tree, away from everyone else," said Damian.

Jon looked at him curiously before nodding and following Damian outside. Gotham High had both indoor and outdoor seating, even thought mostly everyone ate indoors.

Damian walked up to the tree and say down. Jon walked up next to him and did the same. Jon reached out into his bag and pulled out a messy looking sandwich .

Damian reached into his backpack and pulled out a beautifully crafted sandwich made by his butler, Alfred.

He crinkled his nose in disgust at what Jon was eating. Jon just looked at him blankly and shrugged.

"You don't like PB and J?"

Damian nodded "no" and bit into his sandwich.

"How could you not? It's the best! I even made it myself." Jon was beaming proudly, showing off his sloppy sandwhich. "Oh my gosh Damian, your food looks gorgeous!" Jon stared in awe at Damian's lunch.

Damian shrugged. "My butler made it for me."

"Wow! You have a butler?"

Damian nodded. "Is it tasty?"

Jon looked confused. "The sandwich?"

Damian nodded while Jon gasped.

"You haven't had a peanut butter jelly sandwich before! What are you doing Damian?" screeched Jon.

A couple of people shot then weird looks as Damian tried to shush the energetic boy.

"My butler just never makes them..."

Jon's eyes lit up with a smile. "You can have half! I'll trade you!"

Damian looked unsure at first but swapped half of his sandwich with Jon's. He slowly bit into Jon's sandwich and his face lit up.

"How is it?"

"It is...acceptable."

Jon cheered, knowing that was good, coming from Damian. He let out a small yawn and laid his back down on the grass, staring at the sky.

Damian marveled at the sight before him. Jon looked so perfect, with his slightly pale skin reflecting off the sun's rays. With his black hair, blowing with the wind. With his blue eyes, sparkling as he stared at the sun.

"Uhhhh, do I have something on my face Damian?"

Damian pulled his face down, hiding his small blush. He mentally groaned. He was Damian freaking Wayne! He wasn't supposed to like anyone, especially a boy that he had only met in the morning.

Damian ignored Jon's question and laid next to him. They both stared at the sky, in the most cliche way possible.

"What shapes do you see?" asked Jon.

Damian looked up at the clouds. "That looks like a-"

"Guy giving a hug to his mom!"

"Man plunging a knife through another man."

Silence filled the air as Jon stared at Damian.

Oh god, Jon probably thought he was a complete freak. He couldn't help his own gory imagination.

To his surprise, Jon bursted out in laughter. He continued to laugh as Damian stared at him. If he thought Jon was beautiful before, he was definitely gorgeous now. He looked so innocent and lively. He was just plain amazing in Damian's opinion.

---

The rest of the day passed in a blur for both boys. To their dismay, they had no other periods together. They both agreed to meet up at the front of the school before they both went home.

Damian anxiously made his way to the front of the school and waited for Jon. He sighed in relief, knowing that in just a matter of minutes, he would be with Jon again.

After a couple of minutes, Jon appeared.

"Took you long enough Kent," grumbled Damian.

"Sorry," said Jon, sheepishly. "Wait, can I see your arm Dami?"

Damian slowly nodded as Jon pulled out a pen. He softly grabbed Damian's arm and clicked the pen.

Damian slightly blushed at the contact and pulled his face down. He normally hated all forms of physical interaction, but Jon was an exception.

Jon pulled Damian's arm closer and wrote down...digits?

Damian gave him a confused looks.

"My number," said Jon. He smiled before seeing his dad's car.

"Bye, text me Damian!"

Jon was about to walk away but turned around and tackled Damian in hug. Damian tried to get out of it, but realized that Jon had him in a death grip. He slowly relaxed, melting into Jon's touch.

"Kent, what is this for?" asked Damian. His cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.

"For being my friend and just being so awesome," said Jon, with a cheesy smile on his face. "Ahh, I got to go, bye!"

With that, Jon ran to his dad's car, leaving Damian in a daze. Damian's face was completely red and he was smiling like an idiot. No one had ever treated him like Jon had. No one had ever been so genuinely kind to him.

He snapped into reality when he realized that his father's limousine was in the front of the school. He sighed and walked to the limo.

As soon as he opened the door, he was greeted with the faces of all his older brothers.

"Who has you all flustered?" asked Jason, with a sly smile.

Damian's cheeks went even more red and he grumbled some curse words.

"Oooooooooo, was it that boy that you were hugging?" asked Dick.

"Why are you guys even here?" complained Damian.

"We decided to come pick you up, and we're glad we did," said Tim with a mischievous smirk. It was pretty obvious that they had all seen Jon hugging Damian.

"Just shut up."

Damian grumbled but slowly smiled. He already knew that meeting Jon was something he would never forget.
