Sam Winchester caught the body of the person he had come to love as she collapsed onto the floor.

The person for whom he had felt an unrequited love.

He always thought that she never noticed him until the day before, when she had secretly watched him and his brother exorcize a demon. Now, seeing her bloody frame, and face full of sufferance, he held back tears and willed her to live. The door of the warehouse opened and Dean Winchester walked in, tucking the book with the exorcism ritual into his pocket. After drawing the demons out of the warehouse and into the demo trap, his job had been easy.

Sam didn't look up as his brother walked up to him. He just sat there, cradling Alexandra in his arms, tears pouring down his face.

Dean took her hand in his and checked for a pulse. What he felt shocked him. There was a pulse, albeit a faint one!
"Sammy! She's alive! Quick, get her into the car. The hospital is nearby!"

He ran to the Impala and held the back door open for his brother. It broke his heart to see his little brother like this. Sam carried Alex and laid her gently onto the backseat. He then sat next to her, with her head on his lap, stroking her hair. Dean got into the Impala and hit the gas.
