"Kitty, there's a blue toaster that'll match your kitchen," Jungkook pointed out a baby blue toaster. Eun Kyung bit her lip as she grew excited. She had loved buying appliances and decorations, home decoration was one of her many interests. She checked the price on the toaster and nodded as she placed the box into her shopping cart. Jungkook looked pleased with himself for pointing out the toaster.
"Thanks for coming today, Kook," Eun Kyung said. Jungkook shoved his cousin's shoulder playfully.
"I only came for the free food," he said with a smirk. Eun Kyung placed a hand on her chest, feigning offense.
"With that attitude, you don't deserve free food," she said. Real fear appeared in Jungkook's eyes and he dropped to his knees.
"Please don't do this!" He exclaimed dramatically, attracting the attention of other shoppers in the store. Eun Kyung became uncomfortable under the gaze of the many people so she quickly patted Jungkook's head and told him he would still be getting lunch. The boy jumped up with a bunny-like grin and hugged his cousin. He picked her up and spun her around in the air.
When Jungkook set Eun Kyung back on her feet he said, "you're the best."
Eun Kyung grumbled and began pushing the cart again.
"Yeah I know," she said playfully.
A woman that looked to be in her thirties smiled at Jungkook and Eun Kyung.
"You two make a lovely couple," she said sweetly. Jungkook shook his head rapidly.
"No, no, no. You have the wrong idea, she's my cousin," Jungkook said. The woman quickly apologized and blushed in embarrassment.
"Does that mean you're single, then?" She asked Jungkook. Eun Kyung rolled her eyes and grabbed Jungkook by the sleeve of his shirt and dragged him away as she pushed the cart.
"You're a cougar magnet," Eun Kyung said. Jungkook grinned goofily and said,
"I like my noonas." Eun Kyung fake gagged at her cousin's words.
When Eun Kyung arrived back to her house after dropping Jungkook off, she was slightly sleepy. She and her cousin had went out to eat after they went shopping and the rest of the time they spent walking around and goofing off in the streets of the city. The sun has just set by the time Eun Kyung stepped into her home. The only thing that mattered to her at that moment in time was taking a shower. She placed her phone on the charger in her bedroom and sat it on her nightstand. Eun Kyung quickly picked out some comfortable night clothes, which meant a tank top and fuzzy pajama pants, and a soft towel.
After her much needed shower, she felt even sleepier than before. Eun Kyung's eyelids were heavy and beginning to droop as she stretched her limbs and yawned loudly.
"Jungkook wears me out," Eun Kyung thought aloud. She chuckled as she recalled her cousin's smug face when he found the nice looking toaster. He was such a child sometimes. Eun Kyung still loved him, though and had enjoyed their day together. Eun Kyung was surprised by the amount of affection and time Jungkook had dedicated to her. Most men his age were only interested in hooking up with random girls or playing video games online, but Jungkook put all that aside to make sure he spent quality time with Eun Kyung at least two to three times a week. Jungkook's girlfriend had thought he was lying about his relation to Eun Kyung and was secretly dating her since they spent so much time together, but they were just comfortable with each other. They had no fear of being themselves around each other, and Jungkook accepted all of Eun Kyung, even her flaws. Jungkook always told Eun Kyung that he didn't think she was crazy, in fact, he believed in her and her ability to see spirits, but he didn't mention it unless she did, he knew it was a sensitive topic for his cousin.
"I wish I could go to the attic, I really wanted to turn it into a library," Eun Kyung quietly said. She had a bit of a habit of talking to herself whenever she was alone. She shrugged off the thought and decided she'd worry about it some other time as she dragged her lazy bones into her room and crawled into bed, instantly falling asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
At some point during the night, the air around Eun Kyung had become freezing cold. She shivered in the midst of her slumber and pulled the blankets up to her chin. She cuddled into herself and tried to retain as much heat as possible. Suddenly the cold was replaced with a warmth, the warmth of a hand resting on her head. The sudden warmth began to wake Eun Kyung and she slowly peeled her eyes open. Her sight was still blurry with sleep but there, hovering right over her face was a man. A beautiful, intriguing, ghostly man. His skin was pale white and porcelain like. The ghost's eyes were dark brown and Eun Kyung felt as if the dark irises were luring her in. The ghost's hair was pale blonde, nearly white. He looked unreal, which to any of Eun Kyung's family members, he was. As soon as he saw Eun Kyung's eyes open, he smirked and flicked his bangs out of his eyes.
"Let the cat in," he said. His voice was melodious, like the sound of little bells chiming in the wind. (PSA Reminder: Jungkook believes that when he meets his soulmate he will hear the sound of bells)
Eun Kyung hadn't even had time to process the words that had fell over his lips as she, instead, focused on the mere sound of his voice.
"Snap out of it!" He finally snapped, growing irritated with Eun Kyung's spacing out. Eun Kyung gulped and rubbed her eyes, thinking that maybe she was just dreaming.
"What did you say?" She asked. The man stood up, and brushed himself off as if he had been sitting on something dirty.
"I said go let the cat in," he repeated himself. Eun Kyung tilted her head in confusion as she sat up in her bed.
"What cat? I don't have a cat," she said, her tone still raspy with sleep. The man rolled his eyes, obviously already fed up with Eun Kyung's questions.
"Please just go open the front door," he said in more of a commanding tone than an inquisitive tone. Eun Kyung scrunched her brows together, thoroughly confused but she put her confusion aside and stood up from the bed. Her body needed badly to be stretched but she was in a hurry to get to the door. Her tank top had raised just a bit, slowing a bit of her stomach. It wasn't very much, but apparently the small show of skin made the ghost uneasy.
"And adjust your clothes," he said as he followed along behind Eun Kyung, who was quickly striding toward the front door. Eun Kyung pushed her tank top down, covering her stomach once again.
The closer she got to the door, the clearer the strange sound she had neglected to hear before became. It was a faint mewling sound, the whining of a young feline. Eun Kyung pulled her door open and there it was. On her doorstep sat a tiny calico kitten. The cat whined loudly as it trained it's eyes on Eun Kyung and it's tailed flicked into the air immediately.
"Oh gosh," Eun Kyung exclaimed and bent down to scoop the kitten into her arms.
"About time you showed up," the ghost said to the feline as he walked up beside Eun Kyung who was scratching behind the kitten's ears. The kitten purred loudly.
"Where have you been?" The ghost addressed the cat again. Much to Eun Kyung's surprise and horror, the cat began transforming. There was a horrific sound of limbs breaking and skin tearing. Eun Kyung screeched and dropped the deformed creature.
"What the fuck!" The man next to her exclaimed angrily at Eun Kyung.
"What is happening?" Eun Kyung asked as she freaked out. The cat continued cracking and ripping until finally it unfurled a naked, human body.
"I was just around," a deep voice sounded from the now human body. Eun Kyung covered her eyes with her hands to prevent herself from seeing his intimate pieces.
"What the fuck," she muttered. She could feel her blood pressure rising as the cat and the ghost talked to each other casually. The ghost helped the cat to his feet and looked him over.
"You know you can't just transform in front of anyone like that," the ghost chided. The cat shrugged at the ghost and smirked.
"It's not like anyone can see me anyway," he said. The ghost pointed to Eun Kyung who was shaking slightly from the shock of seeing a cat turn human.
"She can, obviously, dummy," he said. The cat inched closer to her and grabbed her hands before he pried them away from her face.
"You're pretty," he said. Eun Kyung looked at the man, making sure to keep her attention trained on his face ONLY.
"Thank you," she muttered. The cat smiled kindly.
"I'm Taehyung," he introduced himself and kissed one of Eun Kyung's hands which he was still holding.
He jabbed a thumb over in the ghost's direction and said, "That's Yoongi."
