Chapter 7
SAM'S POV
I'm freaking out.
Dean said he was going out about five hours ago, and he still isn't back. There's no way he wanted to be out this long.
My guess is that the demon went after him. The problem is, I don't know where to start searching for him.
What do you do when you don't know what to do? You call Bobby.
"Hey, Sam," Bobby said over the phone.
"Bobby, I need your help right now," I told him frantically. "Dean's missing."
"I'm on my way right now," Bobby said. "What do you mean, he's missing?"
"He said he was going out about five hours ago," I replied. "He didn't tell me anything. He just said he was going out."
"Why didn't you go with him?"
"He told me not to follow him," I responded. "I wanted to give him personal space."
"Well, what were you doing, Sam?" Bobby asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Does it matter? We need to find Dean right now."
"Please don't tell me you're chugging down on demon blood again," Bobby said with a sigh.
"God, NO!" I yelled. "I'm not!"
"Dean said you'd been acting weird lately, Sam. Hanging out with the Trickster," Bobby said.
"What... it doesn't matter, Bobby," I told him firmly. "We'll talk about it later. Get over here so we can find Dean."
WHEN BOBBY ARRIVES
"Where's Dean?" I groaned as I put my face in my hands. "It's been hours. I don't think I can just sit around and wait anymore."
"Call Castiel," Bobby suggested.
"Fine," I said. "But he'd better hurry." I pulled out my cellphone, but he went straight to voicemail.
"Try Dean again," Bobby said, knowing that I'd already tried to call him six times. He also went straight to voicemail.
"I can call Gabriel," I told Bobby reluctantly.
"Hell no," Bobby said angrily. "He's the damn Trickster."
"Well, we're kind of out of options right now!" I snapped. "What am I supposed to do?"
"Whatever," Bobby said. "But it's a terrible idea. If he's in, I'm out."
"Bobby..." I started, but he'd already left and shut the door. I sighed. He's so stubborn.
I quickly pulled out my cellphone and called Gabriel.
"Hey, kiddo!" Gabriel greeted me with a cheery voice.
"I need you," I said quickly. "Come to my hotel room. Now."
"Ask nicely and I will," Gabriel said with an audible grin.
"I don't have time for this. Get your ass over here," I demanded.
"Okay. But you'll owe me one, Sammich," Gabriel said in a condescending voice that annoyed the crap out of me.
"Sure, fine, whatever. Just help me find Dean," I said before hanging up. A couple seconds later, I heard the flapping of wings and looked over to see Gabriel.
"Hey, Moose!" Gabe said with a smile. "What's cracking?"
I didn't smile. "Help me find Dean, now. Then, I'll owe you."
"Alright, Sammy," Gabe said. "Give me a moment..."
I stayed quiet as Gabriel snapped his fingers. We appeared in a dark room when I heard him whisper something.
"Don't say a word, they'll hear."
I rolled my eyes at the irony of Gabe actually saying that. I looked around the room, but it was too dark to see anything.
Suddenly, someone, or something, jumped on me. I shouted in surprise, and as my shout echoed across the room, I realized what mistake I'd made.
Then, I felt his leather jacket against my hand. I stopped trying to push him off and smiled.
"We have to go, Sammy," Dean said quickly. "Now!"
"Gabriel, get us out of here!" I said, turning to him. Then, I realized he wasn't there.
"Dammit, Gabriel!" I yelled.
"Sammy, shut the hell up! We need to get out right now!" Dean told me.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Later!" Dean shouted. "Come on! How'd you get in?"
"Gabriel," I replied.
"What, he just snapped his fingers and you were in here?" Dean asked with a laugh. "Never mind. We'll share stories later."
We both had the same idea and started feeling against the wall for an exit, or a door, or a window, or something we could escape from. Eventually, Dean found a door, but as we started to escape, we heard dogs barking.
"Ignore them! RUN!" Dean yelled as we sprinted across the hallway.
It was slowly getting lighter as we approached another room with a window. The dogs barked louder as they chased us. They were getting closer. I panted as I continued to run. One dog grabbed Dean's shirt with his teeth, and I quickly shot it with my gun. The gunshot managed to scare the rest of the dogs away. A couple seconds later, we crashed out of the window.
"Oh my God," Dean gasped after we'd fallen onto the grass. "We have to get out of here right now, before he finds us."
"Who?" I asked worriedly.
Dean shook his head rapidly. "Come on, Sammy!"
We quickly got up from the grass and ran towards the street. Cars beeped their horns, but Dean didn't care. He sprinted faster than I'd ever seen him run before. I was struggling to keep up.
"Oh my God," Dean gasped again.
"Look, there's a motel," I said, pointing.
"Good. Let's go," Dean said. We continued to run until we were at the gate. We probably looked like a mess, sweating and panting, but can you blame us?
"We'll take... a room... for one night," Dean panted as he gave the man at the counter some money. "Two beds, please."
"Are you okay?" the man asked as he looked for a room key.
"We're... fine," I said. "Just... went for a run."
The man smiled as he gave us our room key. "Second floor, first door on the left if you go up those stairs." He pointed at the staircase.
"Thanks," I said. Dean and I quickly walked up to our room and plopped down on the beds.
"Oh my God, I'm going to pass out," Dean gasped. "Sammy... that was crazy."
"We're kind of used to crazy," I replied. "But yeah, that was crazy."
"What happened... with Gabriel?" Dean asked, still out of breath.
"Nothing really," I said. "I just noticed you'd been gone for a few hours, so I called Bobby. We didn't even have a clue as to where you were, so I called Gabriel."
"What about Cas?" Dean asked angrily.
"He didn't answer his phone," I said. "And neither did you. We were out of options, Dean!"
"Yeah, well, I heard something about you and Gabriel," my brother said as he glared at me.
I tilted my head. "What do you mean? From who?"
Dean ignored my question. "Were you screwing that archangel?"
My mouth dropped open. "I... wait, you don't mean... screwing him?"
"Yeah, that's exactly what I mean," Dean said angrily. "Answer the question."
"Of course not!" I yelled. "Are you insane? I mean, GABRIEL?"
"That's what I heard, Sammy," Dean said. "And I didn't believe him at first, but now that I think about it, it's totally possible with the way you've been acting!"
"Oh my God!" I shouted. "No! I would NEVER screw that... that bastard!"
"Good! Keep it that way!" Dean yelled back.
"How about you tell me what happened in your side?" I said, crossing my arms.
Dean sighed. "You don't want to know."
"Yes, I do."
"Fine," Dean replied. "Here's what happened."
