Chapter 4
DEAN'S POV
Driving to Paige's place in Florida was nerve racking. I, Dean Winchester, am afraid of hardly anything (if anything), but the thought of being around Paige is making me very nervous. The thought of talking to her was even worse.
"Dean, snap out of it." Sam said. "I asked you a question."
I quickly snapped back to reality. "Yeah?"
"Who do you think the demon is?"
I shrugged. "How would I know, Sammy? All I'm thinking is that maybe there is no demon. Maybe Paige was just thinking she saw one."
"If it was anyone else, you wouldn't say that." Sam said, rolling his eyes. "I'm always the one to say that."
"I know, but I just..."
Suddenly, a car swerved into our lane just ahead of us. Sam gasped. I quickly swerved out of the way, praying I wouldn't hit any cars.
"Son of a BITCH!" I yelled, honking at the car. "He's on his phone, of course."
"Focus, Dean. Put your personal feelings aside and let's get to work on this case." Sam said, pulling out a lollipop and putting it into his mouth.
"You never say that." I commented, a little confused.
Sam smiled knowingly. "You know me too well."
I quickly pulled over to a nearby gas station, parking my baby and staring at Sam. "Dude, what is going on?"
Suddenly, I figured it out. "A lollipop? Telling me to put away my personal feelings? You're not my brother."
Sam smirked as he turned into Gabriel. "You finally figured it out."
"WHERE IS SAM?" I shouted, grabbing my gun and pointing it at the Trickster.
Gabriel laughed. "Don't worry, he's perfectly safe. I just needed him to... stay quiet for a little bit." He laughed.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I yelled. "Gabriel, I swear to God if you hurt my brother I will..."
"It's rude to swear to my father." Gabriel said with a smirk. "But I'll forgive you for now. Get out of the car."
"Take me to my brother NOW." I said angrily and forcefully. "And you'd better not play games with me. Stop screwing around with us. What's up with you and Sam, anyway?"
Gabriel smiled. "That's for us to know and you to find out." He walked to the back of the car and opened the trunk. Lying there was my brother with duct tape over his mouth and his hands tied behind his back.
"SAMMY!" I yelled, quickly pulling off the duct tape and untying his hands. "Gabriel, I swear..."
He snapped his fingers and disappeared.
I was mad for only a second longer. I grabbed Sam and rolled him out of the car. He looked around. "Where are we?"
"Gas station. That son of a bitch Gabriel did this to you. I friggin TOLD YOU to stop talking to Gabriel! And you didn't listen! He's dangerous! Never talk to him again, do you hear me?"
"Whatever. Can we get to Paige's house now?" Sam asked.
"No! You have to promise to be more careful! Stop talking to Gabriel and.... Ugh." I groaned, losing my train of thought. "Let's get out of here."
SAM'S POV
Dean was driving us to Paige's house. I have no idea what happened or why Gabe would do this to me, but I decided it would be best if I just asked him myself and get some answers. Of course, without Dean knowing. He'd kill me if he knew I was talking to Gabe. I pulled out my phone and started texting the Trickster himself.
Sam: Why would you do that?!?!?
Gabe: I was trying to protect you.
Sam: Yeah, by tying me up? You'd better explain yourself right now.
Gabe: Honestly? I was protecting you from your brother.
Sam: Dean? What the hell? Gabe, he would never hurt me.
Gabe: Not on purpose. I saw it. It was an accident.
Sam: Just because you're having visions doesn't mean they'll happen! I was fine! Now you've got Dean all worried!
Gabe: It will happen, and I don't want you to get hurt. Despite your annoying attitude, I need you and you need me.
Sam: I'm not annoying all the time.
Gabe: Exactly.
"Sam, what are you doing?" Dean asked, looking at me.
"Uh, research. Obviously." I said quickly.
"Sammy, you're a terrible liar. What are you doing?"
I quickly looked back down at my phone.
Gabe: Come on, just let me tell you what's going to happen so you can prevent it.
Sam: IT WON'T HAPPEN! Dean's asking what I'm doing so what do I tell him?
Gabe: Googling stuff. He doesn't have to know.
"I'm... googling stuff."
Dean glanced at me. "About what?"
"About that car crash I was researching yesterday. There was another one. Same area." I said, praying Dean would believe me.
"Oh. Where?" Dean asked.
I quickly tried to remember. "Just south of here. Miami."
"Oh, same state?" Dean asked. "We got lucky."
Gabe: Dean is going to kill you.
Sam: No, he believes me.
Gabe: I'm serious, Sammy. He'll actually kill you.
Sam: Oh, come on, Gabe!
Gabe: No, listen to me, Sammy. He'll accidentally shoot you.
Sam: What, is his gun going to randomly go off? While I'm standing right there?
Gabe: SAM!
Sam: 🙄
Gabe: The one time I'm serious, you're not.
Sam: Fine
Gabe: Listen, Sammy, Dean is going to be shooting at the demon. You are going to be shooting, also, but you'll jump in front of the demon and Dean will shoot you.
Sam: Believable.
Gabe: SAM I AM NOT KIDDING THIS TIME!
Sam: Why'd I jump in front of the demon? I don't care about demons.
Gabe: I honestly don't know. It just happened. I saw it. But I can't read your mind.
Sam: Yes you can!
Gabe: Not in these visions!
Sam: Who is this demon?
Gabe: Didn't see his face. I'm sorry Sammy just please be careful
Sam: I'm still mad at you.
Gabe: It was for your own good!
Sam: Whatever.
Gabe: Call me?
Sam: Maybe later.
Gabe: 🙄
Sam: I'M WITH DEAN SO I CAN'T TALK OFTEN!
Gabe: Calm down.
Sam: You know what? I can't deal with you anymore. I don't trust you anymore.
Gabe: I'll make it up to you, I promise!
Sam: No. Gtg.
I looked down at my phone, looked at Gabe's number, and blocked it. Then I sighed and leaned back in my seat, wanting to go to sleep.
"You okay, Sammibear?" Dean asked.
"Mmhmm. Just tired."
"You just woke up!"
"Whatever."
"Well, we're almost there." Dean said, pulling into the driveway. He sighed. "Can you go first?"
"Why me?"
"I don't want to see Cas right now, it's too hard! I ruined our friendship!" Dean shouted.
"Yeah, I'll go."
"Thanks, man."
"Anytime."
