Chapter 2
DEAN'S POV
"So what's the deal with Paige?" Sam asked. "I know you're a bit... off... but I'd like to know what happened."
I rolled my eyes. "Let it go, Sammy. It's not a big deal. We should focus on our job."
"Yes, we should. After you tell me what happened."
"You're so stubborn!" I groaned. "Can't a man have some privacy?"
"Yes." Sam replied. "But if whatever's going on makes your brother cry, you'd want to know about it, right?"
"She's Michelle." I blurted.
Sam's eyes widened. "Michelle?"
"Exactly! And I kissed her in the bathroom and she pushed me off because she's in love with Cas but I'm still in love with her!" I said quickly, getting it off my chest.
"Woah, slow down!" Sam said, obviously surprised by my sudden outburst. I'm not ever the one to share emotions; Sam always takes over that role.
"So Michelle is actually Paige, and you're still in love with her?" Sam asked.
"Ugh, YES." I groaned. "Let's just go to bed. I can't even think right now."
"Goodnight." Sam said, getting into his bed as I got into mine.
THE NEXT MORNING
When I woke up, Sam was already awake and on his laptop. I got out of bed, stretched, and asked, "what are you doing?"
"I'm researching this case that happened just south of here." Sam responded. "A 23 year old man was killed, but nobody seems to know who he was."
"How is that possible?" I asked.
Sam rolled his eyes. "Anything's possible in this world, Dean."
Suddenly, we heard a knock on the door. Sam peeked through the small hole before opening the door, stepping outside, and closing the door behind him.
I found this odd. Since we're brothers, we should both be in on everything. I know I was hiding this Michelle thing from Sam, but it feels like he's hiding something from me. I peeked through the hole and saw Sam talking to the one and only Gabriel.
"Wonderful." I muttered, rolling my eyes. I don't know what's up with them. Sam told me Gabriel had offered something he could barely refuse, and he hadn't refused until he trapped me in a box. Knowing him, it was probably his plan all along. Gabriel has a way of messing with people and manipulating them. Even though Sam said it was a house and a car, I never really believed him. But what do I know?
My phone suddenly rang, snapping my out of my train of thought. I grabbed it and saw that Cas was calling.
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Cas. Listen, I'm sorry about last night, okay? Paige and I... we're both sorry."
"No, no." I sighed. "You did nothing wrong. Both of you were fine. I was being a jerk because I was jealous."
I took a deep breath. "Listen, I don't know what I was thinking when I kissed her, but I just thought..."
"You did WHAT?!?" Cas shouted.
"I... you didn't know?" I asked nervously.
"Yeah, I didn't know." Castiel replied. "But it's no big deal. I mean, you just kissed one of your only friend's girlfriend. Not a big deal at all."
"Cas..."
"No, Dean! All you can think of to say is, "you didn't know"? Not an apology? Not a sympathetic speech about how you know what I'm going through? Not saying you're sorry? No, Dean, YOU'RE the one that needs to listen! Paige is my first girlfriend, and I LOVE HER! You will NOT mess up our relationship anymore, Dean, I will make sure of that! Have you not realized that I'm an angel? Do you not comprehend what I can do? I could end your life! I could put you in Hell! I could..."
"Okay, I get it! I'm sorry, Cas! I really am." I protested. "I didn't even mean to kiss her, but she just looked so beautiful, and... I'm making excuses. I kissed her. It was wrong. It's over now."
"You're right, Dean." Castiel said angrily. "Our friendship is over."
"Cas..."
"Goodbye."
And he hung up the phone.
