Gabriel and Castiel had been working together for the better part of a month, before things went awry. It happened after a really bad fight with some demons, that an injury didn't heal correctly and left Gabriel and his grace weakened.

"Achoo!" Gabriel sneezed loudly, sniffling softly, looking around in confusion.

"Did you just sneeze?" Castiel asked in surprise, looking at the archangel in shock.

Gabriel blushed faintly and nodded, before sniffling again and sneezed again. "Achoo!" he answered weakly, coughing in surprise as he felt like he was almost choking on his own breath afterward. He coughed and coughed, until a bunch of green crap came up, which he jumped up and spit out in the sink.

"Are you okay?" Castiel asked, starting to panic, as he had never seen Gabriel like this before.

Gabriel gave him a thumbs up, too winded to answer with words. He braced himself on the sink, suddenly too dizzy to stand on his own. He quickly sat on the toilet seat, putting his head between his knees, to try to relieve the dizziness; only issue, was that it wasn't working.

Castiel walked over and touched Gabriel, expecting the archangel to heal and be fine, but nothing happened.

Gabriel groaned softly, shrugging Castiel off as he started coughing hard again, before sitting more green goo in the tub.

"You didn't heal?" Castiel said questioningly, as he watched his brother in confusion, as fear replaced his worry.

"I'm sick, healing only works on injuries." Gabriel said breathlessly, returning his head to the between his knees. "I'm so dizzy." he mumbled weakly.

"That's it, we are going to the boys, now!" Castiel said, touching Gabriel and they flew off landing in the motel room.

Gabriel landed in a heap, as he curled into the fetal position, too sick to care that he looked ridiculous to most grown men.

"What the?!" Dean exclaimed seeing Castiel and Gabriel in their motel room suddenly.

"Hello Dean, I need your help. Gabriel is sick." Castiel said in a rush, praying Dean would put aside their differences and help his brother.

"No! After what he did to Dean! No!" Sam spat angrily, glaring at the lump that shivering on the ground, even as he felt a tugging at his heart.

Dean nodded his agreement, choosing to hold his tongue, instead of say something completely inappropriate and unkind.

Castiel slumped in defeat, looking at Sam and Dean with pleading eyes. "Please Sam, Dean! He needs help, and I don't know how to do it. He is too sick to take him back to the motel we were staying at." he pleaded.

Sam clenched his teeth, shaking his head no, not wanting to say anything for fear that his words would betray his concern and sympathy for the curled up angel.

Gabriel sneezed repeatedly, gasping for air at the end, before harsh coughs took over, draining him of even more strength and making him an even bigger snotty, coughing mess.

Cas sighed, walking over to Gabriel and touched him again, earning a heavy groan from Gabriel. "See healing isn't working." he said, showing the boys firsthand.

Gabriel choked on his own breath. "Stop trying to heal me, it makes my stomach hurt immensely." he moaned hoarsely, gagging softly on his words.

Sam debated it a short moment, before grabbing Dean's arm and pulling him a ways away, so they could talk without being overheard by the angels that were there begging for their help.

"What do you want, Sam?" Dean asked, feeling and clearly exuding annoyance.

Sam sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face, "Hear me out okay," he said, holding up his hands.

Dean rolled his eyes, but nodded his consent to proceed.

Sam sighed in relief, smiling slightly. "Okay, I know Gabriel is an ass and all, but we've saved pains-in-the-asses before, without throwing such a fit about it. We need to save Gabriel from Castiel, who is only making him worse, and you know I am right." Sam said calmly, but in a bit of a rush.

Dean growled slightly in frustration. "I'm not saving an angel that tortured us for who-knows-how long, killed me a thousand plus times, and made you watch all of that." he spat.

Gabriel got up weakly, unsteadily walking over to boys, and stopped a couple steps away, in time to hear Dean's recount of his crimes.

"You're right, I am an ass, a huge one, and I don't deserve your help, but I am here humbly asking for it, as I feel like crap on toast, and no offense to Cas, but I need a caretaker that is well informed." he wheezed out, all that talking took a lot of his strength, resulting in him collapsing on the ground in a heap. He curled into himself, shivering hard, as he waited for two men he severely hurt to decide his fate.

Dean looked down at the shivering lump, then at Sam, before motioning to Sam to come closer. "Do you really think its wise?" he asked, unsure that it was to help their enemy.

Sam nodded, choosing not to say anymore and let Dean think on his own.

Dean sighed, rubbing his jaw over and over before finally giving in and nodding his consent. "Fine, Let's do this, on one condition he tries to hocus pocus one thing without permission, and we walk away." he said.

Gabriel, stuck a hand out of his shivering lump and gave a big thumbs up, before pulling it back in and returning ton shivering even harder.

"Alright, Gabriel, lets get you in bed, then medicated, then sleeping this bug off." Sam said firmly, as he directed his brother, and Castiel as well. He helped Gabriel to his feet and was about to head back to the bed, when the angel froze in his tracks. "What's wrong?" he asked.

Gabriel doubled over, as if he'd been rammed in the stomach, gagging hard. "Gonna be sick." he warned hoarsely, his voice already almost gone from the coughing.

Sam steered the angel to the bathroom quickly, as he started coughing over and over, until he was no longer coughing and was now gagging back to back. He positioned the angel over the toilet, tying the angel's hair back out of his face, and held his hand on Gabriel's back as he felt the angel's back heave.

Gabriel gagged harder and harder, straining and dry-retching, until he finally brought up a bunch of phlegm. Once the phlegm was up, he gagged hard and vomited hard, bringing up insane volumes of liquid sweets and food.

Sam flinched, beyond grossed out by what he was seeing, but he was trying to ignore it. "That's gnarly," he mumbled.

Gabriel spit in the toilet, reaching up to flush the evidence away. "Sorry, that was gross." He slurred weakly, leaning on Sam in exhaustion.

"You're sick, no need to apologize. Ready to go lay down?" Sam asked gently, worried about the heat he could feel rising from the archangel's skin.

Gabriel shook his head, as he weakly pushed himself upright and over the toilet again, before projectile vomiting into the toilet over and over again, ending in him coughing up a bunch more green gunk.

Dean walked up in time to see Gabriel projectile vomiting and hacking up green gunk, almost causing him to be sick himself. "You're really sick... Wow! Okay... Um... When he is done, the bed is ready," he said, turning and leaving quickly.

"Sorry, he has a weak stomach." Sam said with a chuckle, smiling understandingly at Gabriel when the angel got a break.

"It's okay, Sammy, you don't have to be nice to me." Gabriel said softly, hanging his head, as he flushed the toilet again and unsteadily stood up.

"What if I want to be nice?" Sam asked in return. He reached over to help, only to have Gabriel shrugged him off, a bit aggressively, and it threw the angel off balance, causing him to fall against the wall real hard.

Dean and Cas came running, but Sam put out his hand to them and crossed his arms in front of Gabriel, clearly miffed.

"Dude? Why won't you let me help you?" Sam demanded, as a sad look crossed his face.

Gabriel caught the look and froze. "You want to help me... Honest to God?" he asked in shock.

"Duh!" Dean chimed up. "I wasn't the one itching to help you, it was Sam." he added in annoyance.

Gabriel paled more than he already was, realizing he screwed the pooch. "I'm sorry Sammy, I didn't know." he said sadly.

Sam sighed and offered Gabriel a hand up, which the archangel accepted, and Sam carefully helped him up. He supported the angel to the bed, helped him lay down, and climbed into bed beside him, to keep him company, and support him if he got sick again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gabriel snuggled into Sam and slept soundly for a few hours, before waking up violently sick again, but Sam was there to help. This happened off and on for two days.
