The mermaid/Mermans all have an amulet they are born with.It helps them breath in or out of water , they can transform into a Human .
The amulet is different to each person. The Amulet can only be destroyed by another mermaid/merman
If it breaks in the sea then the mermaid can't go up again to the human world .They also gain a tatoo which is burned to their skin somewhere the shape if the amulet.
If it breaks in the normie world then they either suffocate or become fully normie.
