Coming Out Is Hard, Okay?
Dean paced back and forward in his room in the bunker.
He had faced demons and angels, he'd even faced the devil but this scared the shit out of him.
It was just Sam what's the worst that could happen, it not like Sam could kick him out it was his home too.
Then again Sam could always leave and never come back.
He wouldn't do that Dean reasoned.
Another part of Dean argued that Sam leaving wouldn't be anything new, there have been many times when the two have stopped hunting together.
He tried very hard to ignore that part.
"He wouldn't just leave, we're family." He muttered to himself as he continued to pace the small room.
"Okay so maybe he will leave after I tell him but he's never seemed like the kind to judge for this sort of thing." He ran a shaky hand through his hair. "He's not dad."
"He's not dad." He repeated again.
Stopping in front of the mirror, he took a deep breath.
"Oh my god, I'm talking to myself I'm going insane." He rubbed his hands over his face. "It's fine, it can't be worse then any of the other shit we've done."
He took another deep breath before adjusting his flannel slightly and stepped out off his room.
He saw Sam round the corner, he was reading some old book that was probably written in some long forgotten language.
He didn't seem to notice Dean at first, his attention on the book, when he did eventually look up Dean was staring at him, panic covering his face.
"Dea-" Sam was quickly cut off.
"Nope. Can't do it." Dean stepped back into his room and slammed the door shut, locking it so that Sam wouldn't be able to come in and question him.
"Dean?" Sam tucked the old book under his arm and knocked on the door. "You alright?"
"Just peachy Sammy." Deans voice was muffled, he was laying face down on his bed, face smushed into his pillow.
"You sure?" Sam asked, ear pressed against the door just to make he wasn't dying or anything.
"Yep! Go back to your nerd stuff, I'm fine!" Dean lifted his head so that his voice would be clearer.
"Okay..." Sam sounded unsure but left none the less. He had to trust that Dean would come to him when he was ready.

Sam was sat in the library, he was looking to see if anything strange was happening near by as it had been a couple of days since the last hunt.
He had called Jody and Donna, neither of them had anything they need help with and Cas was off god knows where doing god knows what.
As he was half way through reading an article about a mysterious murder (in all honesty it wasn't as mysterious as the police was making it out to be, Sam thought it was obvious that the boyfriend did it) when out of his peripheral vision he saw Dean enter the room.
Dean stopped once he was just through the door, he muttered something to himself before turning to leave.
He stopped himself and shook his head, muttering something else before turning back towards the room.
Sam watched this happen a couple of times before he decided to put a stop to it.
"Dean? You okay there?" He stifled a laugh at the shocked face Dean pulled when he looked up.
"Yea. Yep I'm good." Dean went to leave once again but stopped himself. "Actually I have something I wanna talk to you about."
"Okay..." Sam shut his laptop as Dean sat in the seat opposite him. "What's up?"
"So...Uh you remember that guy who I used to hang out with a lot when we stayed in Texas." Dean nervously wrung his hands. "You would have been in your last year off middle school."
"Dark brown hair, wore that one denim jacket all the time?" Dean nodded. "Yea what about him?"
"We weren't friends per say..." Sam raised an eyebrow at how nervous Dean seemed.
"Okay?" Sam was trying to be calm, he didn't want to freak Dean out more then he was.
"We were more like... Uh I guess you could say boyfriends? Maybe, we never really made it official since I knew we were leaving soon and he didn't particularly want to be in a relationship but we did make out a lot and other stuff but-"
"Dean!" Sam interrupted. "What's the point in all of this?"
"Well I'm trying to tell you I'm bisexual so if you could quit being rude and let me talk for five goddam minutes!" Deans face went from looking angry to panicked as he realised what he just said.
"You're bisexual?" Sam asked after a moment of silence.
"Yea I like guys as well as girls." Deans voice was a lot quieter and more timid then Sam had ever heard it.
"Okay." Sam shrugged and went to open his laptop again, he only just moved his fingers out of the way before Dean slammed it shut, pulling the laptop into his arms.
"Okay?" Dean asked just to be sure.
"Yea okay. You are who you are, just 'cause you like guys doesn't mean you are suddenly a different person." He shrugged again. "I'm glad you told me."
Dean smiled and handed the laptop back.
"Can I ask why you decided to tell me?" Sam opened the laptop as he spoke but kept his eyes on Dean.
"Well one, you and I both know how dad felt about being gay. He used to rant for hours about how they were going to hell." He shrugged like he didn't care but Sam could see the hurt on his eyes. "I've know since I was fifteen 'n then after hiding it for so long, I didn't want you to think I was keeping something from you."
"I get it, thank you for telling me. You're my brother, no matter what." Dean smiled again at that.
"And two, I'm planning to ask Cas out so you'd find out soon anyway." Before Sam could find the words to reply to that Dean stood up and left but not before shouting, "I didn't want you find out by catching us, if you know what I mean!" Through the door way.
