Just Desserts-Gabriel
Today was your nephew's seventh birthday and as much as you loved the kid, you dreaded going. And not for any normal reason, like maybe you hated kid's parties or were just to tired. No, you wished that was why. The real reason was because of one mischievous archangel in particular. Gabriel.
"Why can't I go?" Gabriel whined, "Kids love me!"
"Gabe, we talked about this. My family doesn't know what you are and we can't risk them finding out," you told him for probably the hundredth time.
"I won't do anything this time, I swear!"
"Last time you said that, I had to explain how two live chickens labeled '1' and '3' ended up at my sister's wedding," you glared at him.
He laughed, "Okay, you gotta admit. That was hilarious. You guys spent all day looked for a chicken labeled '2'."
"Yeah, and you ruined my sister's wedding!"
"Sugar," he took your hands in his, "I'm sorry. Can you please just let me come along to your nephew's birthday party?"
You looked at his whiskey colored eyes. They were wide and begging for a 'yes.' Sucked for him, because he wasn't getting one. "No."

"Hey (Y/N)! It's so good to see you," your sister smiled, pulling you into a tight hug. "Where's your boyfriend?"
"Oh he couldn't make it. Work and all," you shrugged, wanting to change the subject.
"Yeah sure. Work..." you heard a familiar voice say. You glanced around frantically, looking to see where it came from.
"Looking for me, sweet cheeks?" Gabriel stood before you, waving with a grin. He stood beside your sister, who didn't seem to notice him.
"What are you doing here?" you scowled at him.
"Um...it's my son's party...?" your sister looked at you with furrowed eyebrows.
"Wait.." you glanced back and forth between your sister and Gabriel. "You don't...?"
"No one can see me but you, sugar," Gabriel grinned.
"You've got to be kidding me," you groaned.
"What's wrong?" your sister asked.
"Nothing," you waved off, "So where's the birthday boy?"
"He's in the backyard playing with the rest of the kids," she said with a smile. "I'll take you to him."
"Don't mind if I come along too," Gabriel wiggled his eyebrows, following beside your sister.
You sent glares his way as you walked to where the party was. Your look of anger turned to one of joy once your nephew came running your way. "Auntie (Y/N)!" your nephew smiled as he wrapped his arms around you, his head leaning on your stomach.
"Hey kiddo," you smiled, messing his hair, "Happy Birthday! I got you a gift."
He pulled away with a wide grin, "What is it?"
"Open it," you said as you handed him his gift.
He took the nicely wrapped box. "Thank you Auntie (Y/N). I can't wait to see what it is," he smiled. As he opened the lid, his smile faded once he got hit with a fresh creamy pie.
"How the-" your eyes were wide with shock then turned to anger once you saw the grin plastered on Gabriel's face.
"(Y/N), what the hell?!? He's seven years old!" Your sister sent you a glare as she tried to comfort her now sobbing child and wipe all the cream off his face.
Gabriel must have clearly seen the boiling anger in your eyes because his smirk faded soon after and he looked like he was about to piss himself. "It-it was just a joke," he laughed nervously.
"Gabriel...if you don't leave right now, I'm going to kill you," you mumbled, angrily scowling at him.
"You can't kill me," he waved off, "I'm an archangel."
"I'll find a way."
"Honey, who are you talking to?" your mother had now walked in on the catastrophe, along with your father who looked bothered to even be at the party.
"No one," you faked a smile their way. When you turned back around to where Gabriel had been standing, you saw nothing but plain grass.
"Now why'd you do that to your poor nephew on his own birthday?" your mother pursed her lips, shaking her head in disappointment.
"I swear, I didn't plan that. I bought him a Lego kit!" you told her.
"Ha! Didn't know they sold banana cream pies at the Lego store!" your father laughed and high-fived you, "Either way, good one sweetheart!"
He really hated children. Your anger toward Gabriel slowly faded as you were more focused on questioning how your mother managed to convince your father to come to a kid's party. "Never mind that, you go help your sister with the cake in the kitchen and apologize," your mother insisted.
"Alright." You walked into the house, to see your sister standing in front of a counter with an empty plate. As you got a closer look, there were bits of frosting still on the plate and a few crumbs as well. "What happened to the cake?"
Your sister quickly turned around and her eyes widened once she saw you. She placed her hands on her hips and tapped her foot impatiently as she said, "I don't know. You tell me."
"What?" You looked around the room then stopped at the mirror on the wall beside you to see that there was frosting smeared all over your mouth. "What the..."
"Why would you eat my kid's cake? First the pie thing, now this? Do you hate your nephew or something?"
"Sis, I can explain-"
"No, forget it," she held her hand up to stop you, then walked back outside before you could explain yourself. You groaned, knowing this was another one of Gabriel's annoying tricks.
"Wow, (Y/N). Couldn't leave me a slice?" his familiar voice spoke from behind you.
You turned around, balling your hands in fists once you saw that annoying little smirk of his. "Leave me alone Gabe! You've ruined everything! I was just trying to have a nice, normal day and celebrate my nephew's birthday and you just had to come and cause a fuss!"
"(Y/N), I'm sorry," he frowned and walked closer to you, stroking the side of your face. "I mean it. See? It's gone."
His eyes darted over to the mirror and you followed them, seeing that the frosting on your face disappeared. "That isn't going to bring the cake back."
Gabriel chuckled, snapping his fingers with his free hand. "Look and see," his eyes roamed over your shoulder. The cake was back where it was before, in perfect shape. "Do you forgive me?"
"I don't know," you turned back to face him again, gazing into his eyes.
"I only did this because I was mad you didn't invite me. But I get that what I did what completely uncalled for."
You sighed exasperatedly, knowing that being angry at him wasn't going to make things any better. "Fine, I forgive you."
"Sweet," he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you in for a short, chaste kiss. "Love you too, Sugar."
"Okay, okay. Let's just get this cake out to the kids," you told him with a smile.
"Wait, you're okay with your family seeing me?"
You rolled your eyes, "Yeah, don't make me change my mind."
"Never," he grinned and let you go as he walked over to the cake. You took one side while he took the other and walked out to the backyard, where all the kids were running around and playing and the adults were just talking and drinking.
"Guess whose got cake for the birthday boy?" You announced excitedly. Your nephew jumped up from his seat with an excited grin as you set the cake on the table outside.
"I thought you ate the cake," your sister looked surprised. You stood there silently, unsure of what excuse to come up with.
"No, we hid it to get you freaked out. Sorry, it was my idea," Gabriel laughed, causing you to laugh anxiously as well.
"Haha, you got me," your sister laughed, "And I didn't know you were coming. (Y/N) said you were working late."
"They let me off early," Gabriel lied, "I couldn't miss this little guy's birthday." He wrapped his arm around your nephew, messing with his hair.
"Well I'm glad you came. And (Y/N), I'm sorry about freaking out earlier-"
"It's okay. Let's just enjoy the party and sing to the birthday boy," you flashed a smile as everyone gathered around.
