You're Free Now (samcifer)

In which Sam is a slave.

I'm adding an alpha/omega here because it'll be fun, I think. And as much as I think Sam is an alpha, alpha slaves don't make much sense. Here, alphas and omegas don't have a scent or a heat/rut, it's only comportements, instincts and attractions, so it's not taking over the plot.

Sam walked on the stand, chains rattling with his every step, wearing nothing but dirty brown pants. It wasn't his first time, and he was used to it, but the stares of the crowd still felt like they were burning into his soul, studying him to the bone.

"Here is the next bid! Very strong omega, it can do all your hard work, very versatile! Very obedient too! It knows it's place!" It. Sam hated to be called like that, like he was just an animal, but he'd be damned if he ever only flinched at it. "I start the bid at five hundred gold halos!" Start low, grow high. It was always like that. Though five hundred halos was a high price in itself.

"A thousand!"

"A thousand five hundred!"

"Two thousand!"

Slowly, as the price flew, Sam grew uncomfortable. He wasn't worth all that. Then the sentence fell. Ten thousand. He had never been sold that for that much. The merchant rubbed his hand, viciously happy with the deal, already dragging Sam to his knew owner. An alpha surely. It was always alphas.

Sam was releases of the heavy chains around his ankles and wrists, instead having them changed to lighter shackles. He followed the merchant to the carriage, waiting there when he was told to wait. He hasn't expected it to be that fancy, but if someone had ten thousand gold coins to waste on him, he shouldn't be surprised.

Finally, his new master came. The alpha was fairly tall, slightly less than Sam, with sandy-blond hair and icy blue eyes. Quite handsome, Sam thought, probably around his own age, it might make it less uncomfortable, since his last owner was a 99 years old man.

The man went inside, gesturing for Sam to come in and sit in front of him. Frowning, Sam did as he was told without a word. He was expecting to be tied behind and dragged along like the slave he was.

"I'm Lucifer Novak. What's your name?"

Sam lowered his head. No one had ever asked him his name, he was just the slave or trash or rat or something like that. It was strange having an alpha ask his name, even more by his master. "Sam"

"Any last name?"

"Winchester," Sam whispered again. He had been captured at thirteen, made slave ever since. His family thought he had died.

"Why do you keep your hair that long?"

"Because it's the only thing I'm allowed to choose myself and I like it, sir."

"Don't call me sir, I'm not your master. I'm just Lucifer. Not sir, not mister, not master Novak, not alpha, not master. Just Lucifer."

Sam wanted to ask why wouldn't Lucifer be his master. After all, he had bought him. But he didn't. He kept his head low, knowing better than to talk when he wasn't told to. Sure, Lucifer seemed sweet, kinder than any of his previous masters, but Sam was still a slave and an omega.

Lucifer bent over, taking the shackles off of Sam's wrists. "See? You're free now. No titles, no inferiority, no orders. Do at you please."

"Why?" was all Sam could and let himself utter. Surely it was a trick, a game for Lucifer to break him. It had to be. Who would give his freedom back to a slave?

"Because for once in my goddamn life, I had to do something about that disgusting thing called slavery."

"Why me?"

"Because you looked different. You didn't look fine with being treated like an animal. You weren't fine with your condition. The others were."

Sam ducked his head again. Lucifer was wrong. Or was he? Sam hadn't been a slave since birth, he hadn't grown up being told you were nothing. He accepted it, but was he okay with it? The answer was no. Having lived a normal life before, he was less than okay with it.

"Thank you."

The rest of the ride passed in a comfortable silence, Sam still wondering why anyone would do this for him. The name Novak also shook something in him, but he couldn't remember what.

When they arrived to Lucifer's house, that was more of a mansion, he showed Sam his room and told him to be down for dinner in an hour. Sam sat on his bed, not used to be able to do what he wanted to do.

At dinner, it finally hit him: Castiel Novak, that's why he knew the name! Lucifer and Cas were sitting at the table, with...

"Dean," Sam called, and Dean stood, jumping on Sam.

"Sam, what are you doing here? We thought you were dead!"

Understanding this was a private conversation, Cas left the room and Lucifer stepped back, but near enough that he could still hear them talking.

"Lucifer," Sam answered.

"What?"

"They took me as a slave. Lucifer saw me, and he freed me."

"I'm gonna tear him apart," Dean growled. Lucifer had never seen an omega so aggressive.

"No Dean, he freed me!"

"What? He owns you, you're not free!"

Sam was almost yelling at Dean's obliviousness. "He freed me Dean! Look, no shackles, I'm not a slave anymore! He paid ten friggin' thousand halos to buy me, and not ten minutes later he freed me!"

Dean ducked his head. "Alright, sorry, but if he thinks he can hurt you I'll kill him myself."

"I'd like to see you try."

"What?"

"He's an alpha and you're an omega, Dean, if you even tried to fight him, you couldn't, he'd only growl and you'd be apologizing. Stop threatening everyone who's good in my life and be thankful instead."

I'm probably gonna do a part two or another slave OS, I really really like the concept. Do you like it?

I want to do a real Omegaverse OS, but it always end in sex so I don't know if I'd be able to warp it so that it doesn't go like that.
