"Why?" Lucifer sobbed. He didn't- no, he couldn't understand. "Why!" he yelled at the sky, wondering. Why.

Why am I like this.

Why does everyone hate me.

Why was it always like this.

Why was he the only one not to hate me.

Why did he understand me.

Why was he dead.

Why was everyone I loved dead.

Why am I still there.

A hand now was on Lucifer's shoulder, but he didn't feel it. He didn't feel the tears on his face, or the ground shaking around him. He didn't remember when he fell on his knees. The only thing he felt was the void of his heart, shattered inside him.

"Lucifer." No reaction. "Lucifer," a little louder.

Lucifer raised his head to see Chuck standing in front of him. He turned away shutting his eyes close. He didn't want to see his father. God, who allowed him to be broken again and again. Now, thank to him, Lucifer was broken beyond repair. And for what?

"Lucifer, listen to me," Chuck said.

A soft but harsh answer came: "Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why you made me like this. Why you made him like this. Why you made us share a soul. Why is the world so cruel. Why aren't I dead. Why I can't heal him. Why when, for once, I was happy, you let this happen. Why did you let him die. Why you let this happen when you perfectly knew. I wish I could join him. I wish I could die."

"You brought this upon yourself, son." Chuck's tone was half-hearted, like it wasn't what he wanted to say.

"Don't call me son."

"You are to blame for what happened." Chuck sounded like he didn't mean it, but Lucifer didn't hear it.

"Why?" Lucifer screamed. "Because the Mark was consuming me? Because it didn't let me kneel, you chose to break me! Because it controlled me, you made me suffer! Why should I be to blame, when you were the one who lost control! I was thrown in the cage because I obeyed your orders in taking the Mark to cast her away! How could I be to blame for listening to my orders?" Lucifer was still yelling, not caring about the hurt on his father's- on Chuck's face.

"Son-"

"I'm not your son."

"Alright. Lucifer, I wish there was something I could do for you. But you need to learn from your mistakes."

"Haven't I? Haven't I learned? Haven't I prayed for redemption? Haven't I tried to redeem myself? What did I do wrong? Obey? Try not to fall? Try to keep my sanity?" Lucifer's voice has started as a whisper bit the last sentence boomed like thunder.

"Son-"

"Call me son one more time!"

"Lucifer, it was-"

"Don't say it was necessary. Don't say it or I swear on my wings..."

"Fine. You learned, son- Lucifer. You deserve to be happy, for once. I will give you what you want, and more even, but don't come destroying after."

On that, Chuck gave Lucifer a sad smile and disappeared.

Lucifer shut his eyes, waiting for the darkness to come. It didn't. Instead, the man in his arms shifted and opened his eyes. Lucifer felt it more than he saw it trough the tears in his eyes. It was still him, but he was different.

"Lucifer?" His voice. Lucifer didn't think he'd hear it ever again. "What happened?"

"You were stabbed," Lucifer said, trying not to sob. "You were stabbed and I couldn't- I couldn't heal you and-"

"Lucifer, what happened to me?" Lucifer's soulmate sat, trying to look behind him. Lucifer took a look and saw a beautiful pair of hazel wings in his back.

"You're an angel. He turned you into an angel. We will live forever, Sam. Together."
