02. Instant Enemies:

“Good morning! You’re up early!” Delancy said with a sweet smile when she saw Jennifer waking up. “Mitchie will be taking her own sweet time in the bathroom, so you can pick out your clothes till then, then Delancy turned to the bathroom door and yelled. “Mitchie, would you get out already? You’ve been in there for an hour.”

Jennifer stared at her back, Man, she thought, this chick is bipolar or something.

“Five more minutes!” Mitchie yelled back.

“You’ve been saying that for the past fifteen minutes!”

“Thank you.” Delancy said sarcastically when Mitchie finally got out.

“You’re very welcome.” came Mitchie’s reply, “Good morning Jennifer. Alex is not up, yet?”

Delancy rushed into bathroom with her stuff while Mitchie and Jennifer tried to wake Alexis up.

“Alex wake up alredy! We’re gonna be late for breakfast… Delancy told me they’re serving pancakes!” Michie tried tugging her twin out of bed.

“Tell Delancy to save some for me.” Alexis mumbled back, drowsily.

“Come on! Get up!! We’ll be late!!!” Mitchie said pulling Alexis up to a sitting position who was now sitting with her eyes closed trying to go back to sleep in a that position.

Delancy got out of the bathroom quickly and Jennifer went in. “So Alexis is finally up. Good morning, sleeping beauty!” Delancy greeted.

“‘Morning...” Alexis was slowly stretching and purring like a cat. “So where is the girl who came last night? I think I should apologize to her. I had a nightmare that she turned into vampire and was chasing me for my blood.” Alexis joked, giggling a bit.

        “Someone’s high in the mornings…” Delancy remarked in good-humor.

“Great dream! Well, she’s gone for a bath. Apologize later.” Mitchie said in a hurry pulling Alexis out of bed.

Jennifer was out in few minutes and Mitchie pushed Alexis into the bathroom before she could say anything.

Alexis was out soon. The girls walked out of the room. Delancy locked it with a clever bit of magic she’d learned. They passed the enchanted rose gardens to reach the hall. They sat on the table they chose last night.

“Sorry about last night. I was unnecessarily rude.” Alexis said. “I was really tired and I fell asleep late so—”

“No problem.” Jennifer replied with a reassuring smile. “It kind of is my fault, my sense of direction is ridiculous!”

“Werewolves are so big.” Mitchie said, watching a few muscular guys walk in.

“Intimidatingly so.” Alexis nodded her agreement.

“And they have some anger issues for sure!” Delancy said.

“Vampires are way cuter. But werewolves are just so hot.” Jen piped in.

“I don’t like them. They seem like jerks.” Alexis said.

A boy with blackish brown hair and dark blue-grey eyes who was walking by over heard this and slammed his fists on the table startling the girls. “What did you just say?” He demanded, angrily.

“You retard, I said werewolves are jerks!” Alexis replied trying to keep things cool.

“How dare you say that?” The boy retaliated with heat.

“’Cause they are a pain in the ass! They are annoying!” Alexis said through clenched teeth. “Like you!”

“You little— Don’t you dare go around speaking against werewolves that way.” The guy said as he caught her shoulders in his strong grasp.

“Ouch! Stop, it’s— you’re hurting me!!!” Alexis was taken by surprise, she was too weak compared to him, a strong and developed werewolf, and she didn’t like feeling weak. She kicked him hard and used her leg to push him away.

When he finally let her go, her hands were aching, which made her all the more furious. She picked up her plate and smashed it on his head but it did not affect him.

He must have been very headstrong. Alexis was still human having no powers but she had to use something so she picked up the chair next.

“Alex leave him.” Mitchie said helping Delancy stop her.

“Wolt! Ray, stop it. You people will be punished for this!” said Colton, Ray’s friend who was holding back.

When this little spat got to the notice of the headmistress, sitting at the head of the hall she separated the two of them, using magic from the crystal that was attatched to the head of her staff. She had great powers. She had Ray and Alexis stuck to opposite walls.

“What is going on here? Enough is enough! I want no more fights here.” The lady said with authority.

The two of them finally stopped struggling. Alexis still had the anger on her face but the guy was taking deep breaths to calm down.

“Professor Kelsey, I think she doesn’t know the rules of this school. She spoke against werewolves.” Colton came forward.

“Ray, you know you have to stay calm, another minute more and you would transform. She is a new student, she doesn’t know the rules….. Everyone back to your places. Alexis, Delancy, Jennifer and Mitchie, I need to talk to you all.” The lady said.

The six of them followed her out of hall and were taken to her office.

“Hello, Alexis, Mitchie and Jennifer. I am Professor Kelsey Smirre. And welcome to Wirampe Vereardz High Academy.”

The three of them echoed their greeting softly, the woman radiated power even from behind her ornate Mohogany desk.

“I teach Defence. The three of you should know the rules of the school. Please know that you are not allowed to speak against any species at school.” She looked sternly at Alexis. “These are books of school rules. Please go through all of them.” She said removing three books from her drawer. “And Delancy you are their roommate so please explain to them anything they need to know.”

“Yes, I will.” Delancy said.

“Now you all may leave.” Prof. Kelcy said.

The girls went back to their room, numbered as 9/13. Delancy opened the door. “You shouldn’t have fought with Ray. He is stronger than you. His powers are well developed.”

Alexis turned around, still angry. “I don’t care. That asshole hasn’t heard the last of me! As long as we’re in this school together, I am gonna make his life burning hell.” Alexis swore.

“He’s in serious trouble now.” Mitchie said.

“But for now don’t do anything. Please read this school’s rules before anyone falls into trouble. Please.” Delancy begged.

“Yeah, I know. We have to read it and we will.”

“So people ready for the change?” Delancy smiled.

“Can’t wait to get all my powers. They’ll be so amazing.” Mitchie was jumping around in the room.

“You’re right, sis. Now we’ll be able to do stuff that we couldn’t do before.” Alexis was excited. A smiled replaced her frown. “Like kick Ray’s ass!”

“I’m going to turn into a vampire.” Jennifer said with a smile too.

“No! I don’t want my dream to become reality. Please don’t do this to me. I thought you forgave me.” Alexis pretended to be scared.

“Yes, I did forgive you but I planned to be a vampire from the start, like my parents.”

“I wished I could be a vampire but our ancestors were wizards so our parents want us to become wizards too.” Mitchie said.

“So girls, let’s get ready for your big change.” Delancy said happily.
