Chapter 5
I've never had any alcoholic beverage before, so, needless to say, this is a very interesting experience. After a single beer, I can already feel it getting to me. Ugh, why did I do this? Oh well. Too late to do anything about it now. If I'm gonna be drunk, I might as well do it right. Let's have another!
"Let's go!" Gabriel cheers, waving his half-full bottle in the air. It probably sounds like he's drunk, but I think he's just being Gabriel. "Who starts? Can I start? I'm gonna start. Hey, Matt, truth or dare?"
"Truth," Matt replies. "Wait, that usually ends worse than dares."
"Too bad!" Gabriel replies. "You already said it. Um... Well, we got Bailey's perspective, but how was your kiss?"
"10/10 IGN," he replies with a smirk.
"Isn't that a game rating thing?" I ask.
"Is this a pun because you're a player?" Mark asks in one of his on-again, off-again appearances.
"That was rude and uncalled for!" Matt complains, but he's grinning. "Hey, Bailey, truth or dare?"
"Truth," I reply, mostly because it makes things way more fun when people pick truth.
"Are you and Lucifer still together, and if not, do I have a shot with you?"
I take a moment to think about this, in my slightly drunken state. "I don't know, and maybe."
Matt grins. "Alright, I'll take that."
I look around the circle, then my eyes land in someone who isn't sitting with us. "Hey, Mark, truth or dare?"
"I didn't realize I was playing," he replies.
"You can't just watch and not play. So, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"I was really just asking to see if you were actually going to play along," I admit. "So, um... What's your favorite part about being a ghost?"
Mark takes a moment to think about this. "This is going to sound so cheesy, but it's true. I think my favorite part is how it helped Lucifer out. He used to complain all the time about how he wanted to do stuff but he couldn't because he had to share his vessel. I'm still only here some of the time, and I don't really get to choose when I can interact with people, so it's basically the same for me, but Lucifer gets to do basically whatever he wants. And that's the cheesiness that is me."
"I thought you didn't like Lucifer," Jensen says.
"We've been over this," Mark reminds him. "Lucifer can be really freaking annoying, but he's also a pretty cool guy."
"I think you two are better friends that Lucifer and me, and that's sort of depressing," Gabriel adds. "Stop stealing my brother!"
"But then Lucifer's gonna steal my boyfriend," Jared complains.
"And I'll be way happier," Gabriel adds.
"Hey!"
"I hurt my little Moosey!" Gabriel observes with exaggerated sadness. He throws his arms around Jared, causing the taller boy to fall back into the floor. Gabriel lies in top of his, hugging him tightly. "I'm so sorry, Jared, I'll never hurt you again!"
"You're hurting me now," Jared chokes out.
"What?"
"Can't breathe."
Gabriel laughs and lets go of him. "Oops, sorry," he says, though he doesn't seem sorry.
"Isn't Mark supposed to be doing stuff?" Jared asks, pushing Gabriel off of him and sitting up. Gabriel crawls around him and hangs off the boy's back, his head resting on Jared's shoulder.
"I would have, but Sabriel moments," Mark replies. "But anyway... Misha, truth or dare?"
"Dare! Dare dare dare dare!" Misha says excitedly.
"Calm yourself," Mark laughs.
"But dare dare dare dare dare dare dare dare-"
"I'm regretting this already," Mark replies. "I dare you to... I feel like you'd do anything, even if we weren't playing this. This is hard. Um... I dare you to draw a portrait of the person you hate the most and see if we can guess who it is."
Misha nods. "I can do that! I need paper! Now!"
Gabriel hands him some paper that he springs into existence, as well as a pencil.
"I need colored pencils, too," Misha says, so Gabriel gives him some. He starts drawing, and a minute or so later, he holds it up for us to see.
"Donald Trump!" everyone calls out at once.
"Bingo!" Misha replies.
"I feel like w should have expected that," I laugh. "You wreck him with every tweet."
"It's a gift. Um... Gabriel, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"Mm... What's the funniest thing you've ever done?"
Gabriel thinks about it for a moment. "Where do I begin? Doing funny things is what I do. It's the Trickster thing. Um... Ooh, once, when I was just a wee little archangel, no one would play with me, so I went down to earth and I started messing with the animals and long story short, giraffes used to have shorter necks."
"That was you?" Rob says with a laugh.
"Guilty," Gabriel replies with a smirk.
"I thought you did it to the elephant, with the trunk and stuff."
Gabriel nods. "I did that, too."
"Seriously?" Jensen laughs. "That's awesome. That's freaking awesome."
Gabriel grins. "I know. Alright, who's next... Matt, truth or dare?"
"Dare, all the way," he replies.
"I dare you to make out with anyone in the circle," Gabriel says. When Matt turns to me, he adds, "And don't just turn to whoever's next to you because you're lazy, because that's cheating.
"I'm not lazy. I just know what I want," he replies with a smirk.
He presses his lips to mine, and I feel a burst of energy when we touch. I kiss him back without hesitation, enjoying myself more than I thought possible. We kiss for what has to be at least five minutes, but I don't know. Time seems to stop having a meaning, and the world slips away, until it's just the two of us. After what feels like forever and not long enough, we pull apart.
"Seriously, I'm not buying the 'committed to the game' thing," Gabriel remarks.
"Okay, maybe this time, I'm a little drunk," Matt admits.
"I second that," I add.
"We should get drunk together more often," Matt says with a grin.
"I have a feeling I'll regret that in the morning," I reply.
"But it's so much fun while it lasts," Matt says.
"You're flirting with someone that has a boyfriend," Crowley reminds him.
"No, she said she might have a boyfriend. She doesn't know if they're still together," Matt replies. "So I'm going for it. My turn, so... Ooh! Bailey, truth or dare?"
"I can tell you have one in mind, and I don't know how to avoid it," I say. Oh well. It's a fifty-fifty chance. "Truth?"
Matt grins, and I know I messed up. "How'd you know about the wing thing?"
"The wing thing?" I repeat.
"When you told Gabriel to let Jared pet him," Matt clarifies, causing Gabriel to blush slightly. "How'd you know it would do that?"
"Let's just say, the way that I got pregnant was as supernatural as the child I was pregnant with," I reply.
"What, you mean that's what it took to get Lucifer to... Damn. I would have thought he'd be begging for it," Gabriel laughs.
"Apparently, he was in it for more than the physical pleasure," I say with a shrug, unsure how else to word it. "Anyway... Jensen, truth or dare?"
"Truths aren't looking too bad right now, so truth," he replies.
"Have you and Cas ever done it?" I ask.
"I feel like that was a huge jump in the game, and I think I deserved a full warning. And no. Okay my turn!" He says the last part quickly, probably just to distract from his answer. "Matt, truth or dare?"
"You guys are picking me so much, and I'm really starting to feel like part of the group," he laughs. "And after that truth, I'm going with dare."
"I didn't have anything prepared for either of them," Jensen admits. "Um... Wow, I literally have nothing prepared. Okay, this is more for entertainment value than anything else, but I dare you to attempt to French braid Bailey's hair."
"How the hell do I do that?"
"Thus the entertainment value," Jensen replies with a smug grin.
"And don't mess up my hair," I add. "I worked hard to get it this long."
"No promises," Matt replies. He crawls behind me and starts doing stuff to my hair, giving me an awesome scalp massage as he does. After a few minutes, he gives up. "How do you do that?" he whines.
"It's not that hard," I laugh.
"Then can I dare you to do it to yourself? Or would you pick truth instead?"
I scoff. "Truth over braiding my own hair?" I repeat. "Of course I'll do the dare!" I brush out the mess that Matt made and separate my hair in two sections. I French braid one within two minutes, and it's reaching my waist by the time I finally wrap my hair elastic around it.
"How did you do that?" Matt asks.
"Like this," I reply, and begin braiding the other half. Matt watches for a minute, until suddenly, something crowds my vision. It pulls away immediately, but I know exactly what it is. It's a wing. Michael is here.
