Michael- Coffee Shop Part 4

You and Michael were an official couple by now, and had been for a couple months. You two went on dates, and he visited you at your work whenever he could. You loved it whenever he came to visit, and all the other waiters and waitresses knew better than to take his table. Everyone shipped you two like the fucking Titanic.

You were at the park, taking a run with your dog when you saw Michael on one of the benches. He was watching the playground as a bunch of little kids played around. You stopped beside him and sat down, breathing a little harder. "Hey Mike, whatcha doing?"

"Babysitting," he said, leaning over and kissing your lips gently. You kissed him back lovingly before looking at the kids.

"Aww, you babysit? That's adorable," you smiled. He rolled his eyes and blushed a bit. "Who are you babysitting?"

"My little brothers and sisters. Them," he said, pointing to a group of small kids. "And their friends," he added. They were all playing hide and seek and tag. They seemed to be having the times of their lives. They varied in age, but that didn't seem to bother them. The oldest just helped thw youngest play.

"They're cute," you complimented. He gently wrapped an arm around you and you zipped up your thin athletic jacket, since you were slightly cold.

"Since when have you ran, anyway?" he asked.

"I love to run. How do you think I keep this perfect bod?" You joked, motioning to your body. Michael smiled softly and kissed your forehead.

"I thought it was natural," he joked. You rolled your eyes and leaned against him.

"Stop being such a flirt, you've already won me over," you smiled softly. He just continued to hold you.

"I love you y/n," he said.

"I love you too, Mike," you chuckled. He kissed the side of your head and you felt his arm come out from behind you.

"Y/n, I have a question," he said. You nodded, giving him the 'go on' look. He looked at you. "Why me?"

You tilted your head at him. "Is this a trick?" You asked. His little brother was often playing jokes and tricks on you and Michael, and you thought maybe he was joking with you.

"No, not a trick, an actual question. Why?" he asked.

You turned so you could look into his eyes without turning your neck. "When I first saw you I was too shy to talk to you, but you were in my section and I wasn't in the mood to get fired. We talked, you made me laugh, and you were being naturally adorable because of your limitation on coffee. Later, when I was putting your order in, my friend told me that you were staring at me. Then you just continued to come and visit and eventually I got up the courage to ask if you wanted to have a coffee date, just as friends. You were genuine, dorking, adorable, and hilarious. You knew how to treat a woman and what lines you shouldn't cross. You were a good guy, and not to mention handsome. So, Mikey, that's why I picked you," you ranted before gently kissing him.

He smiled at you and you saw the faintest blush. "Well, y/n, when I first saw you, I was speechless. You were beautiful and you were always smiling and seemed so happy. You seemed genuinely happy. My brother told me to ask you out, I said you were out of my league. So, Lucifer being Lucifer, had to try to hook you and I up. It seems he succeeded and I never, ever thought I would be with someone so beautiful," he said. You smiled as a blush coated your cheeks. You had never been complimented so much.

"Thank you," you said shyly. Then you looked at him. "So what's your question, Mike?" you asked.

He got off the bench and kneeled down in front of you, a black box in his hands. You felt your whole world stop. The kids stopped screaming and playing, the couples stopped walking along the trails, the runners and bikers stopped going. It was just you and Michael when he asked his question. "Y/n l/n, will you marry me?"

"YES!"
